Info:

A new Australian Band forged in the fire of AC/DC & Rose Tattoo.Hailing from country Victoria, Black Aces had a longing to hear the kind of music that had once forged this great country's musical back bone. They set about crafting such a band; a true blue, fire breathing, chest beating, riff n roll band! Drawing much of their inspiration from the Aussie greats in AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs, The Angels and Cold Chisel, they cut their teeth on their local scene. Developing their sound, and earning a reputation, they built a line-up capable of delivering a powerhouse rock'n'roll show.Eventually settling with the four misfits you can see today. Never afraid of a beer, and a biff, is Tyler Kinder on lead vocals and lead guitar, then there's resident locksmith Rhys Collier on rhythm guitar, and the ironically unrelated rhythm section of Alex McMillan on bass, and Pete McMillan on drums.Touring across the width and breadth of Australia soon followed, all the while winning new fans in city and country alike. Not stopping there though, the lads hopped a plane to the mother land. A non-stop, beer fueled, 2 week tour of the UK ensued, exciting many a punter with vicious Aussie rock'n'roll the likes they hadn't seen since AC/DC's first foray in the mid 70's. Along the way they have had the pleasure of appearing alongside Aussie greats such as Cosmic Psychos, Dallas Crane, Bodyjar, Stand Alone, Kings Of The Sun, Something For Kate and Black Label, as well as with Australia's next generation of rock royalty such as Dead City Ruins, The Deep End, The Lazys, Massive, and The Delta Riggs.2014 has seen Black Aces continue the momentum they have built, releasing their brand new 'Hellbound' EP, chock full of ripper tracks. They subsequently released the manic film clip for lead single 'On The Rocks. But the fun doesn't stop there. Work has already begun on their debut album, which is set to be completed before the year is out! So keep your ear to the ground.Pounding out blistering rock'n'roll that you can’t help but bang your head and punch the air to, you will find it hard to leave a Black Aces show without a smile from ear to ear.

Album:

To be released on January 29, 2016 (Bad Reputation (Europe), Black Aces Music/Xelon Entertainment (Australia)). Some albums are just easy to review and enjoy. You hear the first few chords played and you know you’re likely going to really like the whole album. As you listen for the bass and drums to chime in to the opening guitar riff, the big question mark that remains is how the lead vocals will sound since the latter will likely make or break the rest of the album.

Line Up:

Tyler Kinder – lead guitar, lead vocals
Alex McMillan – bass
Pete McMillan – drums
Jarrad Morrice – rhythm guitar

Tracklist:

01. Shot In The Dark
02. Girl Like You
03. Back In The Chain
04. Sick As A Dog
05. I’m Your Nightmare
06. Let It Roll
07. Rough Touch
08. Burnin Down The Highway
09. Take It To The Wire
10. The Walls
11. Girls Got Rhythm (Bonus Track)
12. Shake The Ace (Bonus Track)
13. Wanted Man (Bonus Track)

+ Video "Girl Like You" (Official Video)

Album:

With their second album, Black Aces keeps on working that fine Australian tradition that started with AC/DC. In fact, I think this might be the missing link between AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Airbourne. The music is a bit heavier than AC/DC but maybe not so intense like Airbourne, but still with the same catchy melodies and riffs!Actually, this is also a difficult album to review, because what’s not to like? It’s pure happy party rock ‘n roll music! I can’t find a bad song, only rock that makes you wanna party! But on the other hand, you’ve really heard this music before. As lead singer Tyler Kinder said: “We aren’t necessarily trying to reinvent the wheel, but we are going to give it a bloody good spin!”It might not be a classic album that I will remember in a couple of years, but it’s a really good album. And… “For those about to rock…” this album will definitely get you going! And for all this kind of music, it will probobly be like 10 times better live! The album will be released by Off Yer Rocka Recordings on November 8, be sure to check it out!
