Mark Allen Slaughter (born July 4, 1964) is an American singer and musician, and one of the founders of the glam metal band Slaughter.Slaughter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 4, 1964. Before the formation of Slaughter, he fronted Xcursion, a Las Vegas-based metal band while attending Chaparral High School before joining the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, who had a hit song, "Love Kills", that appeared on the A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master movie soundtrack in 1988. After that band disbanded in the late 1980s, two of its members, Slaughter and Dana Strum, formed the group Slaughter.Slaughter sold more than five million records in the 1990s.[citation needed] The group had four Top 30 hits on the Billboard charts with tunes such as "Fly to the Angels" and "Up All Night",and toured with bands such as Kiss, Poison, Ozzy Osbourne and Damn Yankees.Slaughter actively participates in charity work with St. Jude Children's Hospital.In January 2015, Slaughter digitally released a solo album titled Reflections in a Rear View Mirror. The album was released worldwide and became available in CD format on May 22, 2015.In May 2017, Slaughter's second solo record, Halfway There, was released via EMP Label Group.In April 2017, Slaughter announced that he had signed to EMP Label Group, and would release his second solo album Halfway There in May of that year.

Singer/guitarist Mark Slaughter (SLAUGHTER, VINNIE VINCENT INVASION) has released a solo album, "Reflections In A Rear View Mirror", via his official web site. The CD was mixed by legendary producer Michael Wagener (METALLICA, MEGADETH, ALICE COOPER, DOKKEN, SKID ROW) at his WireWorld studio outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It features Mark Slaughter on all instruments except drums by Mark Goodin.Mark previously revealed he decided to record fresh material while his SLAUGHTER bandmates were on the road as the backing group for MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil.He told Hard N Fast: "I had my stuff done and I looked at Michael and said, 'Would you be willing to mix this?' He took one song and said, 'Man, this is great,’ and he really got into it."According to a press release, "Reflections In A Rear View Mirror" "will take you on a rock and roll journey like no other. Mark delivers 11 diverse songs on the debut, each with a story of its own."Mark released a solo single, "Never Givin' Up", digitally in March 2014 via Thunder Spirit Records.A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the single was donated to the Red Circle Foundation, a non-profit organization providing immediate gap funding assistance to the families of United States Special Operations Forces.SLAUGHTER's best-selling release date is the group's 1990 debut album, "Stick It To Ya", which spawned several hit singles, including "Up All Night" and the power ballad "Fly To The Angels". The album reached double platinum status in the United States.The band's last studio CD, "Back to Reality", came out in 1999."It's just been one of those things," Mark told SOFREP Radio. "We [SLAUGHTER] stopped making records around 1999 — that was our last record. We've been doing shows, we just tour every summer and that's kinda what we focused on. I've been doing music for television for a while, produced a band or two, and really got into other aspects of the business. Lately, I just felt the need to start being creative again, so I started writing this song and other songs, and lo and behold, 'Never Givin Up' was written for the sake of our military."Every night that I've done 'Fly To The Angels', which is our biggest SLAUGHTER hit, I would always send that out to the troops. For, number one, defending our country and giving up their time and their lives and everything else for it. I think more people should be thankful."
