Bio:
Methane is raw, aggressive crossover thrash straight from the underground. We are dropping a killer new album in 2026. We've toured with Whiplash, Nervosa, and Massacre, and tore up stages at festivals such as Speed Metal Party, In Flammen and Sabaton Open Air.February of 2017 saw Methane release its debut full length album “The Devil’s Own” on Sony/Dark Star Records which has been met by the press with great reviews. Drawing influence from Slayer, LOG, and Pantera, Methane has created a unique sound that is strong and unapologetic. The band has been touring in Europe supporting the album and steadily gaining a strong and loyal fan base in the European Metal scene with a reputation as a high powered, energetic live band. To date, Methane has played over 80 shows in on 2 continents. Highlights include U.S. tour, headlining Finnish Tour, Rage of Armageddon Festival (NYC,USA) Metal Inferno Festival (Sweden), Heavy Metal Heart Festival (Helsinki) and opening for international touring bands such as Warbringer, Nervosa, Whiplash and The Haunted.
Album:
Colliding NYHC punk with a blistering Bay Area thrash assault, METHANE delivers a relentless barrage of razor-sharp riffs, thunderous drumming, and commanding vocals that demand your attention. As a fierce contender in the New Wave of Old-School Thrash Metal scene, The upcoming new album “Demolate” promises a chaotic journey through apocalyptic themes and raw, beer-fueled madness.“Demolate” is the kind of album whose songs are so fast and addictive that my dear child of the night will not even realize when it comes to the end. Each track goes so smoothly that it is almost impossible to stop listening to the album. Ok, it is Old School Thrsh Metal, the subgenre that I usually call predictable, however, “Demolate” is predictable in the great way of the word; comfortable. My dear child of the night will find himself into a comfortable state of mind through Methane‘s music. By the way, I think I’ve seen the band’s mascot a while ago. I just cannot remember the band that had one pretty similar.Well, the last two months have been so prodigal with Thrash Metal bands. It’s been really a while that does not happen here. More notably, the albums we got proved us Thrash Metal is not only alive and kicking, but it is also evolving to something the film “Evolution” shows pretty well. “Demolate” is one more of them whose trip to the glorious past brought them into the future. Non stop.First bullet, “360° of Destruction“ welcomes the band with everything Methane have got. The track is fast, furious and insanely riff driven. In less than three minutes the world is down. There is a Hardcore component the follows all the tracks down as it can be seen by “Alcoholocaust.” By the way, the band has got a thing for some dark humor or sick mooding as in “Get in the Coffin,” “Karen” or “I Fuck for Beer.” The quest for alcohol is also a constant in the album. The true spirit of Metal music, if I may say.Well, already veterans, Methane were born in 2012, “Demolate” is an expected album from a band that knows exactly what they want. As promised, “Demolate” quickly combusted, reverting to the pure, unadulterated thrash metal roots of its founders, Tim Scott (formerly of Death Metal cult act Revenant, with John McEntee of Incantation) and Jimi Mästerbo. A relentless touring machine, Methane have left a trail of destruction across countless stages in Europe and the U.S. through headline runs, support slots with bands like Whiplash, Warbringer, Nervosa, Massacre, and festival appearances such as “Sabaton Open Air,” “Speed Metal Party,” “In Flammen” and others. Their sound is a blistering, high-speed assault designed for the pit.Methane “Demolate” will be released on October 02nd via Fireflash Records/Edel.
