Bio:
Gilby Clarke formed the band Col. Parker with ex-Stray Cat Slim Jim Phantom, Muddy Stardust and Teddy Andreadis in 1999, releasing the album Rock n' Roll Music in 2001, produced by Gilby. The band's origins lay in the Phantom-owned Cat Club in Hollywood, where each Thursday night, Phantom would invite friends to come up and jam, as they started off by playing strictly covers of such classic rockers as the Faces, Rolling Stones, T. Rex, Chuck Berry, and Mott the Hoople, among others. They were offered a recording contract from the V2 label.
Gilbert J. "Gilby" Clarke (born August 17, 1962) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He had a 3-year tenure as the rhythm guitarist of Guns N' Roses, replacing Izzy Stradlin in 1991 during the Use Your Illusion Tour, and also featured on "The Spaghetti Incident?" (1993). Following this, Clarke went on to forge a solo career as well playing guitar with Slash's Snakepit, Kat Men, Heart, Nancy Sinatra, Kathy Valentine (of The Go-Go's), MC5 and forming his own group Rock Star Supernova with members of Metallica and Mötley Crüe.Clarke's production work includes albums by L.A. Guns, Bullets and Octane, The Bronx and Vains of Jenna.
Album:
After being part of GUNS N’ ROSES and releasing a couple of solo albums, Gilby Clarke was part of COL. PARKER, and relased an album.Clarke formed the band COL. PARKER with ex- STRAY CATS drummer Slim Jim Phantom, as well as bassist Muddy Stardust and keyboardist Teddy Andreadis in 1999, releasing the album ”Rock n’ Roll Music” in 2001, produced by Gilby. The band’s origins lay in the Phantom-owned ‘Cat Club’ in Hollywood, where each Thursday night, Phantom would invite friends to come up and jam, as they started off by playing strictly covers of such classic rockers as the FACES, ROLLING STONES, T. REX, CHUCK BERRY, and MOTT THE HOPLE, among others.Solely on the strength of their live performance, the ad-hoc band was offered a recording contract from the V2 label, and COL. PARKER (named after Elvis Presley’s infamous manager) began focusing on penning original tunes. The properly titled ”Rock ‘N’ Roll Music” shows the band not sounding too far off from their influences, especially Exile On Main Street-era ROLLING STONES, mixing originals with a pair of covers (Janis Joplin’s “Mercedes Benz” and Bo Diddley’s “Pills”).This is super cool, and super good timeless rock n’ roll.
