Bio:
Glam Rock Metal band from Munich, Bavaria.Band was founded in 2019.The call has been heard.. The mighty Viper Queen is about to rise from the depths of Munich Rock City ! Surrender to the bite! The Munich quartet founded the band during a cozy drinking evening in March 2019 and has since completed their first EP with 6 songs."Surrender to the Bite" ignites a real addictive potential. Musically located between W.A.S.P., Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe or Skid Row, there is everything for the retro fan that the metal heart of the old school desires. In addition, flashy hairstyles, leather outfits and the typical cover layout for the time make this band a real child of the 80s. That this special decade is still so popular after more than 40 years is proven by “Viper Queen” on their first EP with furious enthusiasm and competence. It is hard to believe that the record was only made now. The sound is just 110% retro. No modern frills, but a full board of 80's Metal.
Album:
Mixing up indelibly rocking, Cauldron/Venator like, sleazy street vibes imbued with celestial touch of glam is Munich, Bavaria's Viper Queen, which has recently spun a scorching hot and hexadic EP titled Surrender to the Bite...(Gladly, did I take immutable stock of its high grade, debonair, bandied about coolness!) By all that's holy in the World of so-called traditional heavy metal, these four German lads have hit one out of the park (and into chthonic "dark") with kick-ass, musically impressive chutzpah recognizant of above mentioned p(ion)eers - the opening, Persian affected main riff of "Call of the Viper" harks to Deadline's commercially viable, albeit pumping, "Before I Die" - whilst similar-in-tone, byzantine party shaker "Faceless Little Mistress" and even more revitalized "Electra" do terrific justice to school-of-1980s-glam metal fiends Cobra Spell, Hitten and fellow countrymen Snakebite, to name a few.The no frills, rather stripped down and raw production job allows frontman Mosi Hollywood's catchily enthused and discernable, oft expressive upper-mid range vocals to steal the limelight - especially on top, roaring humdinger "Black Thunder". Not that axeman Michael Wolf's thrashed out and faster, hyperbolically aggressive ploys on "Trapped In A Moment" or rockout, come (and gone) as-you-like, stratospheric blues soloing on "Electra" fail to assuage, amidst all kinds of DeLorean fueled, stadium sized, big colored hair trangression - or is that "transmission"?Heedless, the hard-driven and kinetically rampant or fierce sonic winds encountered in first two tracks are enough to slap this youthful bit 'o Teutonic trad metal bonhomie towards one's ever-loving forefront. The anthemic, as well as atmospherically embalmed i.e. cloaked, "Call of the Viper" wastes no time emanating the visually cued listener's excitement, thanks to bassist Sasch Vegas and drummer Tommy Dee's loosely jiving and propulsive, four on the floor battery, in addition to Hollywood's poignantly seized inflections, elevated to same degree as Wolf's fuzzy fretboard fanaticism, which invariably hints of dual tidings.Although the downstepped, decidedly rockier, if not sadly Def Leppard and/or Motley Crue-ish, six minute (excessive) closer, "Jaded Heart", in spite of yet further acetyline inflamed six string pyros, detracts from an otherwise highly praise-worthy sneak-preview, make sure to give Viper Queen's Surrender to the Bite its accursed, blood poisoned due, as "Black Thunder", with such cliched, stormy entrance and jubilantly infectious, Venator evoking gang-energy, won't permit any eschewance on behalf of these glorified fangbangers...
