Hitten is a heavy metal band founded in Spain in summer 2011 in Murcia, with some more classical influences being the EP "Darkness Queen" his first letter.In 2012 they released their first demo entitled "Shake the world". In 2013 come the changes and Adrian left the band, becoming Manuel Soler new vocalist. With it, they edit a single called "Evil Power". After touring several points of the Spanish geography manage to give their first concert outside the country, in the famous Belgian festival, HEAVY SOUND FESTIVAL. Later that same year comes another new change becoming the alicantino Aitor, who is in charge of being behind the microphone. With this new formation again Belgian lands and after several concerts and festivals around the peninsula, once entered in 2014 decide to get into the studio to release their first album called "First Strike With The Devil" being released in CD format by a Greek company ( no Remorse Records) LP by a German company (Heavy Forces Records) and MC by a Thai company (Roots Active) achieving significant criticism. After the exit of this album embark on their first European tour visiting countries like Germany, France, Holland, Belgium and Greece within the festival Rock You To Hell. 2015 comes strong for the band sharing the stage with people like Red Baron (band) or Hell revisiting countries like France or Germany and for the first time, Portugal. That same year a single called "Do not be late" theme ahead for the next album also includes an unreleased track and a version of the German Mad Max (band) is edited. On the other hand, it is decided to dispense with Dani Argilés and instead goes Johnny, murciano guitarist who has worked with bands like Papa Snake, Raging Fire, etc. With this current training records what it is the second work of the band called "State of Shock", scheduled to start on March 1, 2016, which has a luxury collaboration as Todd Michael Hall, known vocalist American Riot (band), Harlet, Reverend among others. First Strike With The Devil - Revisited is an album by Hitten, released in 2023. First Strike With The Devil - Revisited includes the songs: "Demons," "Evil Power," "Looking For Action," "Ladykiller" and many others.Hitten have attracted a fair bit of attention in recent years, partly due to their signing on High Roller Records and also as a result of the Spanish group releasing some of the best classic heavy metal from continental Europe. Back in 2014, the quintet still had a lot to prove and - barring the questionable cover art - did a good job on debut album First Strike with the Devil. Perhaps the influence of groups like Riot and Lizzy Borden seem slightly too obvious, though seeing Striker and the Swedish speed/heavy scene becoming bigger on the weight of the same sound may have encouraged Hitten too.Whatever the case regarding their thinking, songs like ‘Evil Power’ and ‘Ladykiller’ offer classic heavy metal that slides both into speedy territories and hard rock singalongs, rarely becoming boring as a result of a decent pace and solid performances. Aitor Navarro displays pipes that have a touch of power metal to them, using vibrato to slightly change the usual raunchy feel of something like ‘Looking for Action’, making it sound like he’s looking for a sword and sandals quest rather than to play a great show. (Oddly, Hitten don’t seem aware of the innuendo that “action” usually implies.) The band carries out all of this with a sense of urgency and dedication to the power of both riff and chorus, aiding Navarro with backing vocals and piling into each song with great energy, helped by a powerful combo guitar and bass tone.On the other hand, the band seem unafraid of mixing things up, bringing out mood-setting acoustic guitars on ‘Demons’ and ‘Nightmares Come True’, as well as playing a long slow instrumental section in ‘Ladykiller’ that smells both of bad intentions and the power of walking through the streets wearing denim and leather. Therefore, atmosphere is neither absent nor abundant, doing just enough to keep the ‘80s vibe in place without going into specifics. The only time I think definitely of any other band comes during the intro of ‘Demons’, which features an oddly familiar voiceover: I could swear that it was Biff Byford, but I know that Biff would never do a Spanish accent for love or money. Then again, perhaps the similarity just goes to prove that Hitten were destined to grow into one of the better heavy/speed bands of recent times, something that seems apparent even from this slightly generic debut.
