Bonafide is a Swedish hard rock band, formed by singer/guitarist Pontus Snibb in Malmö in 2006.Releasing their eponymous debut album the following year and playing two shows at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2008, as well as opening for bands like Deep Purple, Quireboys and Status Quo, quickly brought them a nation-wide audience. Their most well-known song, Fill Your Head With Rock, was written for the aforementioned festival, and has since been named as one of 2011's best songs by Classic Rock Magazine.Pontus Snibb had played blues and rock for several years, touring and made records with bands such as Mescaleros, SNiBB, Buckaroos, playing with Swedish folk rock artist Mikael Wiehe and as the drummer for American country-punk band Jason & the Scorchers, when he decided to go in a classic hard rock direction with his next project.The album Bonafide was recorded in his home studio together with bass player Micke Nilsson (Brickhouse, Mats Ronander), and caught the interest of former Sweden Rock Festival and Sweden Rock Records head Michael Ivarsson. After the addition of guitarist Mikael Fässberg (from original Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno's touring band) and drummer Sticky Bomb (real name Per-Åke Holmberg, from Kriminella Gitarrer, Wilmer X and Torsson), a revised version with a few new songs was released in October 2007.

The album was recorded during one special night at the legendary club KB in Malmö, Sweden in February 2018, and features the fierce band in its natural habitat.Bonafide‘s album Something’s Dripping reached #2 on Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2009 while its follow up record Ultimate Rebel landed the #5 spot on Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2012.Released by the band through their website.We fade in with some audience applause followed by the wrangling beginning riffs of “Dirt Bound”. The swaggering twangy guitar gives way to the drumstick clacking symbals time count before bursting into a thunderous pounding drum beat. This starter song to 2009’s Something’s Dripping begins the Bonafide live show.For the next 45 minutes or so the listener is swallowed into their own imaginings of being at the KB, whether they actually were or not! You can actually smell the sweat. Taste the beer. Feel the pushing surge of the crowd around you as you test the limits of your ribcage against the steel crowd barrier at stage front.Among the many highlights is “Bottle of Jack” off Flames. The up-tempo raucous anthem literally had me raising my fist by the first chorus and shouting “Bottle of Jack”! Before long I was out of my seat with the air guitar ripping, glad my family wasn’t home! Great energy pumping tune. And man, these guys sound so tight to me. If I the crowd noise wasn’t there you wouldn’t know it was live!The live portion wraps up expectedly with “Fill Your Head With Rock”. It’s easy to see why this hard-driving anthem resonated so well with audiences. And here, like everything else on Live at KB, Bonafide deliver it near flawlessly. I can just feel the crowd during the sing-along portion and catch myself doing just that too.
