Bio:

Coffeinneis a spanish melodic metal band founded in 2015 by Iñaki Lazcano (Vocals-Airless) and David Villarreal (Guitars-Black Rock).Coffeinneplay a powerful, melodic and fresh metal, influenced by many and different melodic metal bands, mostly European, but with different styles such as classic power metal to modern Scandinavian melodic death metal.Heavy guitars and powerful rhythm sections matching perfectly with catchy melodies, more aggressive sometimes, with a wide range of songs of varied styles but with one characteristic, current and distinct "house brand" sound. The band is completed by Miguel Manjónon bass and PakoMartínezon drums, both former members of Airless like Iñaki, what allows a perfect coupling and a demolishing live performance.Their first album and cover letter is entitled Circle of Time.Recorded, mixed and mastered between February and July 2016 at CRONOSOUND STUDIOS (Madrid) it features, among others, the collaboration of Robert Rodrigo (Airless).Originally released on December 22nd, 2016 for Spain through Rock EstatalRecords, exclusively for Japan through BickeeMusic and Nightmare Records in the US, and re-released worldwide after reaching an agreement with Fighter Records on June 15th, 2017.Unanimously praised by specialized press and fans both album and powerful live performance, Coffeinnehas become the most surprising newcomer band of 2017 and "Circle of Time" the best debut album of recent years.

Album:

Coffeinne, a melodic metal band, returns after just over three years, with their new work "Requiem".The group currently composed by vocalist Iñaki Lazcano, guitarist David Villarreal, bassist Miguel Manjón and Pako Martínez on drums, offer us a new dose of melodic heavy metal, with a marked international character, which we liked so much in its first delivery.“Frozen Seas” opens this great album with a powerful discharge of power, without losing an iota of melody, especially in bridge and chorus, with slight progressive nuances and a fantastic work on the guitars."Back to the Light" delights us with a faster cut, close at times to power metal, in which Iñaki's voice is full of nuances, in a magnificent vocal performance, and with one of the choruses that I liked the most of the disk.More of the style of the first cut, “One More Day”, perhaps with somewhat more modern overtones in this case, is a prelude to the song chosen as a preview single, which has been accompanied by a video clip, “Forevermore”; magnificent theme, somewhat more direct and accessible, with a guitar that gives a somewhat more melodic tint to the ensemble, and with a wonderful chorus of those that stay in your head and that encourage you to sing live. Good choice."The Showdown" begins with a lot of claw and, again, the formula of slightly lower revolutions on the bridge and chorus is repeated, which achieves such a good result when it comes to capturing the attention of the listener in the most important moments of the song. Two samples of the best hard rock are the following, "Never Again" and "Wake Up". And the truth is that they are appreciated after several cannon shots like the ones we have been able to enjoy so far. They are much calmer songs, in which Iñaki has the opportunity to offer us a sublime interpretation and that I personally would have preferred if they had been distributed in their location on the album, to refresh the ensemble a bit.Power returns with “Open Your Eyes”, with a brutal rhythmic section, reminding me of Scandinavian melodic death metal and spectacular guitar work, in a new melodic heavy metal theme, with modern nuances and with “Crash and Burn” , more classic but equally fantastic cut.The song that gives title to the album "Requiem" and that has the collaboration of Timo Tolkki, has become in its own right the second preview. It is the longest song, with almost seven minutes. And it has become my favorite song on the album. It encompasses everything that is Coffeinne, perfect combination of power and melody, with sufficient compositional complexity, but accessible to all ears, with a magnificent work by all the members of the band, both in the rhythm section and on the guitars, as in the vocal part. And with an ending that has been exciting for me.Coffeinne returns with a fantastic second job, keeping the ingredients that caught us in her debut, power and melody in equal parts, riding between modern-style heavy metal and international-style melodic hard rock. A magnificent album that should be the definitive push to the front line.
