The band was formed with the same premises that are often typical of works of art: improvisation and inspiration. The chance meeting between Mark Wright (rhythm guitars and vocals) and Alexincubus (lead guitars – former “Theatres Des Vampires”), immediately characterized by understanding that only a strong common passion can arouse, saw the birth of "GAME ZERO", although in an embryonic stage, in the early days of their acquaintance.In fact, they wrote, almost spontaneously, the first versions of four songs off their debut album, “RISE”: “Time is Broken”, “Lions and Lambs”, “Fallen” and “Look at You”.During this step Dave J. joined the band behind the drum set ("Utopia", former "Dragonhammer") and Domino on bass guitar. With the full line-up, they recorded a demo containing the above-mentioned tracks, in order to identify a producer who could support them in the project. The following meeting with Gianmarco Bellumori, owner of "Agoge Records", was immediate and, as often happens to the lucky shots, the agreement was immediate too. Bellumori immediately perceived nothing short of an explosive potential and decided to produce the band.His impact in the artistic direction has been certainly important and encouraged immediately fashionable blend of granitic riffs and evocative melodies, which is the sound of the band. The "GAME ZERO" entity (name inspired by the gamble game "Zero Spiel") came to light and the band signed the agreement with "AGOGE RECORDS" for the release of their first album.At the same time, another element came to enrich the band expectations and to lengthen the list of those that could be defined as a series of "lucky” coincidences (do they?): the band got hired by the production of the animated feature "EAST END", the Giuseppe Squillaci's "CANECANE Srl" and the Andrea Iervolino's "AMBI PICTURES", to realize the main film song and, at the same time, Mark Wright was appointed for the whole soundtrack composition.The result was "The City With No Ends", a high impact rock song. The movie production enthusiastically welcomed the song (the band's first single from the album "RISE") and decided to place it as the closing theme of "EAST END". The “stone of inspiration” was rolling so unstoppable and the remaining seven tracks off the debut album arose as if they always existed and were only to be played.These are GAME ZERO and "RISE" is their calling card to the world. Listen, be glad and love. "Play" is just waiting to be pressed.Between 2016 and 2017 GAME ZERO did their first European tour sharing the stage with bands like Sabaton and Equilibrium. On July 2018 GAME ZERO played at Faine Misto Festival, with many artists like the Queen of Metal Tarja Turunen, The Rasmus, Oomph, Betraying the Martyris, Amaranthe, Dope, Vader, Infected Rain and many more.On March 2019 GAME ZERO played as main support for Amorphis plus some shows in Latvia.GAME ZERO, have announced the release of their second album 'W.A.R. - WE ARE RIGHT' on February 28th, 2020 via ART GATES RECORDS.

’W.A.R. – We Are Right’ is the second album from the Italian hard rock band Game Zero. The group was founded in 2013 by vocalist Mark Right and guitarist Alexincubus (ex- Theatres des Vampires). Their debut album ‘Rise’ came out in 2015. Since then they have had some successful tours, supporting bands such as Sabaton, Amorphis and Equilibrium.First up is the title track, an energetic rock anthem packed with powerful vocals and lively-sounding, uplifting guitar riffs. So far so good… One thing that I’m not so keen on here are the stop-start, nu-metal-styled guitar parts. In certain songs such as Goodbye they seem to disrupt the flow of the music. The same track also features an acoustic guitar part towards the end, which also seems a little out of place. Luckily the chorus is good enough for the listener to forget about the chaotic structure. Is it just me or does anyone else think that Mark Right sounds a bit like Dave Mustaine from Megadeth on here? I mean that as a compliment.I wasn’t expecting a Simple Minds cover but I have to admit that Game Zero’s take on Don’t You Forget About Me works pretty well. I also liked the groove guitar style guitar work on You Choke Me, one of the heavier, more metal-sounding tracks on here. I was quite surprised by the changes in pace on the closing song Full of Nothing. After an aggressive start, they really mellow things down midway through the track, only to pick up the pace later on.Overall, ‘W.A.R. -We Are Right’ takes a few listens to get into. Even after a few listens, I have mixed feelings about it. There are a few catchy hard rock songs on here but the overall structure seems a little disjointed at times. It’s almost like they had a bit too many ideas and tried to squeeze them all into one album.The album was recorded at The Fog Studio 2.0/Studio Compresso mixed and produced by Antonio Aronne, mastered at Elephant Mastering by Riccardo Parenti.
