Bio:
The band Network is melodic hard rock / AOR band from New Jersey, USA. Crashin' Hollywood is the demo recorded by Network in their quest to secure a record deal back in the late 80s.The band's line-up included familiar musicians such as bassist Mark Evans (later singer for Heavens Edge) and singer Larry Baud. (formerly of U.S.A. and later frontman for D. Rosenthal's awesome Red Dawn).Despite the high quality of the demo, the band failed to sign a contract with a record company, with the result that, until 1999 and the CD release by the German company AOR Heaven, the name Network remained unknown. On this demo, Network really sounds like a top-notch band that manages to incorporate all the elements that make melodic hard rock/A.O.R. special. Here we have a tight sound, based on professional recording, inspired compositions, and the passionate performances of Larry Baud, whose tone is very reminiscent of Joe Lynn Turner. This is not material that belongs to the pile of various demos marketed by reissue companies as "hidden gems" or "underground classics" with the aim of misleading the uninformed consumer.Album "Crashin' Hollywood" Recorded in 1989 but not released until 1999 through AOR Heaven Classix.Network surely would have made an impact on MTV and in the pages of Circus Magazine had the CD been released at the time by Columbia Records as previously planned had contractual negotiations not bogged down!Network had it all to make it big: great songwriting, class musicianship, the proper looks, and an incredible lead singer in Larry Baud – who in 1993 will record with David Rosenthal the awesome RED DAWN classic album ‘Never Say Surrender’.There was talent in this band – bassist Mark Evans later joined Heaven’s Edge as lead singer. This is pure late ’80s American Melodic Rock with fantastic melodies, great harmonies, catchy choruses, with some edgy guitars on some tracks and an overall pumping AOR feel. This is a gem that needed to be released. You've go keyboard laden arena rock with superb backing vocals. Vocalist Larry Baud turns up on the awesome Red Dawn album. People paying attention may see the original vocalist of Heavens Edge in a supporting role.Larry Baud came from a pomp metal band called U.S.A. (they made an album in '82).He's got so much vibe and passion in his voice that he seems to attack the listener out of the speakers!!

Here’s the not easy to find CD “Crashin’ Hollywood”, by American melodic rockers NETWORK.This was one of the first AOR Heaven Records releases, whom rescued this little gem from oblivion.“Crashin’ Hollywood” was recorded in 1989, and Network surely would have made an impact on MTV and in the pages of Circus Magazine had the CD been released at the time by Columbia Records as previously planned had contractual negotiations not bogged down!Network had it all to make it big: great songwriting, class musicianship, the proper looks, and an incredible lead singer in Larry Baud – who in 1993 will record with David Rosenthal the awesome RED DAWN classic album ‘Never Say Surrender’. A must for any fan of the genre. As the record deal never resolved, NETWORK managed to release ”Crashin’ Hollywood” in 1990 only on limited cassette format, including an extra song oddly not included into this CD remastered release. And here always give you more, and we added as extra that song for all collectors and Melodic Rock / AOR fans out there.
