Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band has gone through several phases; its strongest commercial success occurred between 1978 and 1987, after which it temporarily disbanded. During that period, the band released a series of hit songs, including 1981's "Don't Stop Believin'", which in 2009 became the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history.Its parent studio album, Escape, the band's eighth and most successful, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and yielded another of their most popular singles, "Open Arms". Its 1983 follow-up, Frontiers, was almost as successful in the United States, reaching No. 2 and spawning several successful singles; it broadened the band's appeal in the United Kingdom, where it reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart. Journey enjoyed a successful reunion in the mid-1990s, and later regrouped with a series of lead singers.Sales have resulted in two gold albums, eight multi-platinum albums, and one diamond album (including seven consecutive multi-platinum albums between 1978 and 1987). Don't Stop Believin': The Best of Journey is a compilation album released in 2009.The Best of Journey rounds up 34 tracks from the pop/rock legends, including internationally renowned radio hits like "Don't Stop Believin'," "Faithfully," "Open Arms," "Wheel in the Sky," "Who's Crying Now?," "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)," and "Stone In Love," but the lack of Journey staples like "Lights," "Any Way You Want It," and "Anytime," as well as the inclusion of a live version of "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" in place of the far superior studio one, keeps this two-disc set from achieving greatness.Love the group Journey and their one time front man Steve Perry, his voice is spectacular. Even though he is no longer with the group this album shows his voice in his prime where it rings out in all songs on the album. . All members of the group are extremely talented and all make up the music of this amazing band. Steve Perry wrote with other people all the songs on the album. Some amazing musicians have made a magical album. Both rock songs and ballads make this one of my favourite albums.
