2015 ...Riders Of The Worm
Sergeant Steel travels to Nashville/Tennessee for the second time. Their third studio album „Riders Of The Worm“ is mixed/mastered by producer legend Michael Wagener.It contains two high-quality guest contributions. Mark Slaughter from melodic hard rockers Slaughter (5 million records sold worldwide) sings a duett with frontman Phil Vanderkill. Kane Roberts plays a guitar solo in his very own style. He was co-responsible for Alice Cooper’s successful comeback in the eighties.„Riders Of The Worm“ is released worldwide via the band’s own label Boyz Tyme Records by the end of November.
2014 …on the Rock 'n' Roll highway!
Leading print and online magazines, including METAL HAMMER Germany, ROCK IT Germany and STORMBRINGER.AT, acclaim SERGEANT STEEL’S actual album.The boys promote “Men On A Mission” with international live- shows in Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. Because of many appearances at big open-air events, the band plays in front of thousands of people. SERGEANT STEEL also supports THE SWEET for the second time in Vienna.Drummer Kenny King moves to Berlin, Germany. He is replaced by initial bass player and founding member, Cøsy Cøxx.Beside the live-activities, SERGEANT STEEL starts to work on a further full-length album.
2013 ...setting stages on fire!
In February SERGEANT STEEL release a new single, called "Black Wings Comin'". It's the official anthem of the "Black Wings Linz" ice-hockey club (winner of Austrian hockey-championships 2003 & 2012). "Black Wings Comin'" is mastered by Peter Mew (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, etc.) at Abbey Road Studios, London (UK). The group plays support-shows for legendary rock bands like DEEP PURPLE and THE SWEET. SERGEANT STEEL reach the final of the Planet Festival Tour 2013, Austria's most important band-contest!Finally in September SERGEANT STEEL release their second record “Men On A Mission” and two videos via Boyz Tyme Records world-wide!
2012 ...in studio w/ Michael
Wagener
SERGEANT STEEL meet legendary producer/mixer Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Janet Jackson, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, etc.) in Nashville/Tennessee, USA. Wagener mixes and masters their second album within three weeks. The band promotes the trip by video-blog entries, studio-diary (german), a farewell live show & an exclusive music-video ("A song for America: 'Heaven Misses An Angel' ").
2011 ...Men On A Mission
SERGEANT STEEL signs record deal with Refused Records. „Lovers & Maniacs“ is officially released world- wide on June 3rd 2011. The band starts recording their second album.
2010 ...High On Life
SERGEANT STEEL release „LOVERS & MANIACS“ successfully on their own. The album is celebrated by international music press such as METAL HAMMER Germany ("Demo of the month", Issue 10/2010), ROCK HARD Germany, HEAVY Germany, SLEAZE ROXX USA, and many more. Ronny Roxx succeeds Cosy Coxx on bass guitar. Cosy leaves the band in a friendly way due to personal reasons.
2009 ...Taking The World By Storm
Keyboard/ piano player Ben Bateman joins SERGEANT STEEL. Debut album „LOVERS & MANIACS“, produced & mixed by Jack Power, is sent to the United States Of America. The record is mastered by Beau Hill in Los Angeles.

Phil and Chuck Boom get in
touch at a concert. They talk about their common past in miscellaneous bands & projects. Chuck admits that he wants to go in a musically heavier direction again, after years in the field of jazz and pop music. After a meeting at Jack’s apartment SERGEANT STEEL finally make up a foursome. At the same time Cosy gets in contact with his cousin Kenny King. With a distinctive interest in Queen he seizes to opportunity to join SERGEANT STEEL. The band plays their first live show in August.
2007 ...Born To Lose - Live To Win!
Jack Power, Phil Vanderkill and Cosy Coxx found SERGEANT STEEL. First demo tracks appear on Myspace. The triumvirate starts to look for a drummer and a second guitar player.

Austrian '80s inspired melodic hard rockers SERGEANT STEEL are celebrating their tenth year anniversary with their new CD "Best Of : Ten Years Anniversary [Limited Edition]", which will be released via Boyz Tyme Records on March 29, 2019.Ready for the time when Sergeant Steel will be supporting Scorpions and Europe, this compilation of greatest hits covers the band's discography; 2009’s Lovers & Maniacs, 2013’s Men On A Mission and 2015’s Riders Of The Worm.All these albums / tracks selected here were mixed & mastered by iconic '80s tweakers Michael Wagener and Beau Hill, so you know what to expect; polished and vibrant late '80s sound & style.Opening this Best Of, 'Cry Out Your Heart, Baby!' is probably one of my personal favorite tunes from Sergeant Steel. It has a real 80s Europe / Airrace-style opening keyboard line (for AOR lovers), up to the sky vocals, a memorable chorus, and gets a little tougher moving forward.Next 'Dirty Habits' ditches the over the top boards for a bit of organ and a classic 'hair metal' guitar line. The kind of 4/4 that puts the rhythm section with their heads down and lets the guitar / vocals play it out. A song that could easily have been appeared in Slaugther's 'Stick It To Ya!' album back then.Speaking of Mark Slaughter, he appears as guest 'Young and Hungry', a lovely middle-of-the-road tune with some acoustics added to the mix, and a fine sing along chorus.Then we find a previously unreleased version of 'Where My Heart Is [Orchestral Version]', a re-working of their original rocker here re-arranged in a ballad mode with piano and sweetened vocals, with background strings that artistically fades out during a vocal offering after nearly 4:50 minutes.'Happy Time (Love On Demand)' is has a more modern European sleazy style, one of the best songs from Sergeant Steel's Men On A Mission album.'Chasing Love' delivers a funkier, bluesy hard rocking '80s feel, then 'Hot Widow' reflects some Hurricane and perhaps 1989 Whitesnake influence with powerful vocals and a great lead guitar. Again 'Mama Horny' goes back to the bluesy melodies, with a bit of early Great White and why not Electric Boys.'Hammer Of Love' starts with the famous prerequisite happy girls screaming, and the lead vocals surprisingly maintain the same pitch. While previous tracks reflect later ’80s sounds, 'Hammer Of Love' is harder, pre ‘85 in its energy, sound and delivery.“Give Me A Call” is a cool power ballad, whereas the previouSly unreleased 'The Burning' brings the Best Of album to a fitting heavy conclusion with a track that combines the best of both old school and more modern sounds.While only about 10 years old, Sergeant Steel sounds like they could have started in 1984 and are still generating new music nearly 35 years later. Over the course of three albums, Sergeant Steel have produced genuine ’80s US inspired worthy hits, and at the same time, reflected some more modern sounds that swept Europe in the last ten plus years."Best Of : Ten Years Anniversary [Limited Edition]" an excellent start for someone who isn't familiar with the band's sound, to discover a really good melodic hard rock act that brings back the sound of Eighties, plus a bit more updated sound.
