Bio:

Singing drummer drumming or singer? This is unique to Phil Collins and his Genesis? No - there is even the Hard Rock genre! Midriff impressively demonstrate that this somewhat unusual lineup mainly live ignites like a rocket. The band played the last two years across Europe club scene and blossomed into a very special eye-catcher when it comes to rock.On 29/05/2015 midriffs second full-length album "Doubts & Fears" appears. The band financed the produced in-house studio and mastered by Norbert Leitner in Vienna album single-handedly and simultaneously released this under its own flag. With their second album midriff find their sound between Hard Rock, Grunge, Stoner, Classic and Blues Rock and are in 2015 more than its predecessor for honest, raw and at the same time deeply sympathetic guitar rock that invites the audience on a rock Party, which today only rarely get to see!Heavy riffs, slamming drums, thundering basslines, a raspy voice and great melodies have hardly any music fans cold. Midriff serve hard American rock, topped with one or another power ballad, which invites not only headbanging, but also to sing along. Live Power Trio convinces with unusual roles - the singer is sitting behind the drums - by an energetic and powerful stage performance. In April 2014 the first time on a European tour in Nightliner with Napalm Records Artist SERENITY their War of Ages over Europe Part II Tour collect midriff valuable experience and know every night to stoke the audience befitting, and bring so much sweat that the crowd for the headliner already is well warmed. More than 150 live shows within two and a half years to make midriff to a real live experience and show that there really is only one way to live rock 'n' roll - on the road and on stage.Your first sign of life gave singer / drummer Paul and the brothers Jeremy and Joshua, from Kufstein, Tyrol (AT), already in April 2010 with their self-produced, comprehensive five songs EP Grassman's Cottage, which consistently came in specialist magazines on good resonances. Numerous concerts in Austria followed, whereupon the boys released their first music video for Pumping Iron with the World's Strongest Man Martin Wildauer as a special guest in December 2011. This video brought among other things the boys also made an appearance in the Bavarian television. After numerous live gigs in Austria, Germany and Italy it was in April 2012 for some Unplugged concerts in England. After a good year's work in their own studio, the boys presented in May 2012 the title track of the new album Broken Dreams as a video on the US Youtube Channel BlankTV.The first fulllenght album Broken Dreams was published 2 June 2012 Google via office4music and since then has been on iTunes and Amazon for download as well as a hard copy for sale. After concerts in Austria, Germany, Italy and England midriff could be seen in the summer of 2012 on a number of international members festivals, including as one of the acts at Rock im Ring festival in Italy next to The Subways and Hardcore Superstar. The efforts of the trio were soon rewarded with the first Endorsementdeals at Murat Diril Cymbals, Curt Mangan Strings and Archetype Apparel and the tape was recorded in the booking roster of sitting in Vienna booking- and promotion agency Catapult Promotion.Inspiration for their songs and lyrics get Paul, Jeremy and Joshua in everyday situations or difficult moments of life, as they are always and everywhere to be found. With a distinctive style pack them in short, but all the more meaningful stories. That the guys rock also "quiet" so right, they have already proven in a variety of Unplugged gigs prove. The song carrying guitar riffs the band initially formed mostly on the acoustic guitar, so it makes sense to perform the songs in "original form". In December 2012, laid Midriff the second panel within one year - Blackout. For this six-song EP to Midriff picked a few of her favorite tracks from her two recordings and took them unceremoniously live, with only two acoustic guitars, cajon and vocals in his own studio on. Unplugged, raw and back to the roots!Doubts & FEARS (2015) With the new drive Doubts & Fears that was produced in the summer of 2014 again in his own studio, it comes in a little more mature and also darker direction. You notice how Paul, Joshua and Jeremy to act more as a unit, and do not have more clearly than in the debut found their sound somewhere between Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge, Seether, Stone Sour and Audioslave. On the new album you can hear almost no acoustic guitars, for two, for midriff hitherto untypical songs included - the strong soulful groovy Mind's Health including Hammond organ and emotional epic Power In My Cage. A very personal song, which can be described well the new depth and the musical facets of midriff. In sum Doubts & Fears seems much harder, more aggressive and raw as it suggested of 2012 predecessor. Lyrically and musically, it is clearly more serious and sinister to as on the debut. Most of the songs were written and pre-produced in one piece in February 2014. For Midriff a new experience."The debut album you always all the time to write the songs - but after many live gigs you just want to play new material itself and the fans want to hear new songs. To write most of the songs in a shorter period of time, was a very interesting.

Album:

Midriff – three guys from the middle of the Alps are not at all into Dirndl, Lederhosen and Yodeling. The trio, already well known at home in Austria, creates modern Hard Rock songs far away from the classical sex & drugs & rock'n'roll attitude.Midriff understand perfectly how to impressively demonstrate that their somewhat extraordinary line-up does first and foremost one thing: going off like a rocket, especially live! Over the course of the past years, the band performed all over Europe's club and festival scene and has become a known eye-catcher regarding all things rock. With their second full length album “Doubts & Fears”, released in 2015, Midriff demonstrate once more, that hard stoner riffs and edgy rock songs can also be written in the impressive landscape of the Austrian alps proofing their skills in performing and songwriting. In early 2016 the trio released their first live EP which shows the power and true energy of the band's live performance. After touring for over five years through mainland Europe supporting bands such as Rival Sons, Pretty Maids, Chris Slade, Tito & Tarantula, Kyuss Lives, Godsized, Armored Saint and many more, the guys grabbed a sponsoring from Jägermeister and other names in the industry. For their third album, Midriff took some time off to concentrate on songwriting and preproduction. “Decisions” is the band's heaviest studio output so far, combining modern metal riffs, punchy rock drums, a crunchy low end bass and a soulful as well as powerful voice of frontman Paul. Like the previous albums, “Decisions” was recorded in the band's own recording studio and drummer/singer Paul self-produced, engineered and mixed the whole album.“For us as a band it is unreal, that we have so much freedom in our decision making – to record, mix and engineer an album exactly the way we want it, is an absolute privilege in the music industry”, says the band. After working with different partners Midriff decided to set up their own record label as well. Under the banner of TwoEleven Records the band will release new music and finally found their home as an artist.Midriff’s third studio album “Decisions” will be released on October 20th, 2017, via TwoEleven Records / record Jet and Soulfood Music Distribution GmbH all over Europe.
