Scars of Amber is comprised of members of some great bands. Vocalist Phillip Calfy is based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In early 2012 decided to start a project with some good friends. Those friends ended up in the studio in Orland, Florida working and writing with producer and close friend Brett Hestla. What happened was a breath of fresh air, it was a rock and roll record that needed to be heard by everybody young and old. In December 2013, after a year of writing and working through each band members schedule Scars of Amber made their way back to Producer Brett Hestla to finish up Scars of Amber's debut release for 2014. Members include Jonathan Montoya, rhythm guitarist who has played in a couple well known bands such as Saliva and Full Devil Jacket. On lead guitar is Virus who has played for bands such as Dope, Lords of Acid, and Device. On drums is Will Hunt who has played for bands such as Evanesence, Dark New Day, Device, Black Label Society and Static X just to name a few. On bass is Dave Benedict who has played for the Canadian rock band Default. 2014 is sure to bring Scars of Amber to the world arena and this will be a band that no rock and roll lover will want to miss! With Will Hunt's hard hitting, solid, creative drum playing, Jonathan Montoya's Heavy and edgy rhthyms, Virus's intense and flawless leads, Dave Benedicts hard soul shaking bass lines, and Phillip Calfy's unique vocal quality, this will be a band nobody wants to miss.

So there is this new band that you guys HAVE to check out called Scars Of Amber. The band is based out of Oklahoma City and features some HUGE NAMES like Will Hunt – drummer for bands like Evanescence, Static X, Motley Crüe, Device and Black Label Society! On guitar is Virus from Dope and Device. On Bass is Dave Benedict of Default and on lead Vocals is newcomer Phillip Calfy!! Phillip might not be a well known name as of right now but trust me, in a few months you WILL know his name! This band is KILLER!!! I have heard some early mixes of the songs and let me tell you, it’s hard hitting, in your face Rock and Roll! The album is being mixed and mastered as we speak so you will be hearing from these guys VERY soon. The lead single “Indestructible” is a monster of a track that will be a force to be reckoned with when it hits radio! I have heard 10 tracks, all of which are great but a few standouts are “Apologize”, the groove laden “Head For The Lights”, hard hitting “Culture In Ruin”, and the amazing rock ballad “December” which could be a huge hit for them and will have lighters and cell phones swaying in the air at the live shows. Phillip is an amazing writer and can strike up some pretty tough emotions with his lyrics. The rest of the band is in top form here and just wait until you hear Will’s drum fill on “True Colors”, that shit is crazy! He is a monster behind the kit just like Virus turns into an animal when given a guitar and pick. These guys will be making a huge noise in the metal scene!
