You know the deal and by reading the band member's names you probably know where this is going. We're gonna cut out the name dropping here.If you don't have a clue, Google is your friend. The Resistance is finally five guys who made up their mind and recorded the music they wanted play for a long time. It turned out that the good old violent sound of Swedish Death Metal put that certain smile to the faces, the one you see when something special happens. Blended with the raw energy of hardcore the result was just a vile bastard waiting to tear ears apart, break your neck and give you simply a good time. Ah yeah, we are just drifting into having info sheet stereotypes here again, huh? Ok, let's stop here and listen to the music, short info texts are the best anyway.

THE RESISTANCE, the Swedish extreme metal band featuring former and current members of IN FLAMES and THE HAUNTED, will release a new mini-album,"Torture Tactics", on February 27, 2015 via earMUSIC. The effort is described in a press release as "30 minutes of a good old slap in the face. It jumps at you with its pure aggression, speedy and heavy guitars, the obvious heavy distortion and the extreme beats.Topped with the distinctive angry growling vocals of Marco Aro [also of THE HAUNTED] — who is literally screaming his lungs out — the brand new six songs are a boisterous statement."Additionally, the mini-album features four bonus tracks: two songs each taken from the band's last EP, "Rise From Treason", and the last album, "Scars".Joining Aro in THE RESISTANCE's current lineup are IN FLAMES founding member Jesper Strömblad on guitar, Glenn Ljungström (ex-IN FLAMES) on guitar, Chris Barkensjö (ex-KAAMOS, GRAVE) on drums, and the band's latest addition, Rob Hakemo (ex-M.A.N.) on bass.THE RESISTANCE is currently in the studio working on its full-length sophomore album, to be released in April/May 2015.The band released its debut EP, "Rise From Treason", in North America on January 29, 2013 via earMUSIC. The EP was made available on CD, limited-edition seven-inch vinyl and as a digital download.THE RESISTANCE made its live debut on October 8, 2011 at Club Distortion in Stockholm, Sweden.Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February 2010 in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction.
