Info:
Megora was founded in 1990 by Piotr Sommer and Toni Scherrer and published in the same year their first demo "The Fog". After the band had already completed several concerts with scene greats like Hades, Midas Touch, Despair, Poltergeist, etc., they were given the chance a show to play in London. the reactions were everywhere very positive and the band made worldwide in the subsoil / fanzine scene's attention. This was reinforced in 1991 with the release of "Moon Still Waters",the follow-demo. 1991 rose Dominik Schieweck as a bassist in a Megora. The band was still very present and played live with Sodom and Depressive Age and many other bands various concerts. In 1992, the band opened the Opportunity to play some shows in Finland and Sweden. After despite the many positive reactions no label for Megora interested, produced and financed the boys their first Silberling "Waiting" on their own. With commitment, initiative and without a deal the band managed in 1994 to tour as the opening act of Metal Church and Wicked Maraya through Europe. This tour was a huge success and it "rained" euphoric reviews on "Waiting" and the energetic shows, during the tour, the guys a. The increased interest in the band and the label first signed up. With a Dutch record company "Waiting" should be finally published. Unfortunately, announced the record company, just before the release, bankruptcy. But there was finally a label in Switzerland, which drove the disc by SPV in Germany. Although no promo launched and no ads have been running, the CD sold over 2,000 times, which far exceeded the expectations of the band worldwide. After a few Einzelgigs Megora played further in 1996 European tour with Overkill and Accu§er, which was also very successful. Although these activities left a deep financial hole on their own, the band did not give up and took the last funding an EP in a demo studio in Germany. In "Illusions", the band tried for the first time successfully on a cover version (Stripped Depeche Mode) and befriended singer Mike Howe (ex-Metal Church) was thrilled einzusingen a song together with Megora singer Piotr Sommer.During this time there were several requests for more touring with Megadeth, Annihilator, evermore etc. Unfortunately, these had to be turned down for financial reasons. Only a very good offer on the part of overkill for a summer tour 1997 it was perceived. The tour was great again, and especially in Italy, where the band appeared for the first time, the response has been huge. Now we are in 2011 and the band holed up in the rehearsal room and works with High pressure on the new album. Currently, the pre-production and is made the new songs get their final touch. To close the song material after awaits us in the spring of 2012 something very special! ... "So watch out!"
Album:
MEGORA? True, there was really something! They were but 1994 opener of METAL CHURCH in Ludwigsburg Rockfabrik. So really I can not remember the appearance of the Swiss was founded in 1990, although I was very enthusiastic in the adolescent age. In any case brought MEGORA in the same year her debut album "Waiting" out, it still followed an EP called "Illusions", then probably not much happened. So now follows after umpteen years, the second album "Burning Empire".MEGORA play a catchy mix of crunchy meaty, powerful, punchy power metal and Modern / Neo Thrash Metal. Most songs are groovy and pleasant Heavy created in the mid-tempo. The driving riffs are direct and rather fat, plus good solos in between acoustic passages and the powerful voice of singer Peter Sommer. The debut album was even more progressive created, "Burning Empire" sounds a bit more modern and compact. I personally little more experimentation and courage to the real variety would have been welcome, even if MEGORA with pieces such as the thrashy "Felskinn" quite break sometimes. The whole thing is somewhere between METALLICA, ANNIHILATOR, PANTERA and MACHINE HEAD. New priorities can not set, the songs are well played and arranged, do not come to the mentioned bands but ran the Swiss.
