Zed Yago is a German metal band which was founded in 1985. Jutta Weinhold debuted as vocalist in 1988 on the album "From Over Yonder".Besides Warlock they have been the first heavy metal band with a female singer in Germany. Their first album was top album of the month in the music magazine "Metal Hammer".After their second album "Pilgrimage" Zed Yago disbanded in 1989 due to being unsuccessful.Jutta Weinhold started the band "Velvet Viper" and later on had her own solo-album in 1993.In 1997 Jimmy Dumand (guitars) revived the band together with his wife Yvonne Durand and Bubi Reinholdt (drums), so they could play on Wacken 1997.The new formation put out their first album "The Invisible Guide" in 2005.

Out of nowhere and without advanced singles / press promotion, German female fronted metallers ZED YAGO are back! Their brand-new album “At The Edge Of The World” has officially landed, a surprise comeback and a fresh chapter for the cult band – time to dive back into their epic heavy metal world.Signed to major label BMG Zed Yago rose to prominence in the late 80s with their single Black Bone Song generating some major airplay. Jutta Weinhold’s vocals were strong and powerful, reminding some of Doro from Warlock, while the music was prime anthemic Euro metal, much like Accept at the time. They released two albums, but by the following year (1989) internal problems had taken their toll, and the band dissolved.In 2000’s returned with new singer Yvonne Durand, and released a new album 2010 with legendary ex Rainbow Tony Carey as stable member.Fast forward 2026 we have “At The Edge Of The World”. And this rocks hard with a commercial appeal. Yvonne’s vocals are impressive, like a thunder, and it’s a pleasure to hear such a heavy woman with such vocal power, but always in control. The band sounds updated with the new music wrapped by a modern crisp production.Criminally unknown by many, ZED YAGO’s comeback is more than welcome, and this is a talented outfit, and it’s always a pleasure to hear Tony Carey’s magic ivory!
