Swedish band Jono consists of five musicians, living on the island of Gotland.JONO started as a solo project of singer Johan Norrby (hence the moniker ”JoNo”), some 10-15 years ago. A record was made and released in 2006, involving some of the members of today’s band setting. JONO as a band started out at that point and has carried on ever since.Singer and songwriter Johan Norrby has been singing, writing and playing music in countless bands and projects for years and years – which very much goes for all of the guys in the band. The guitarist, Stefan Helleblad, is also a member of Dutch symphonic rockstars Within Temptation. The drummer Nicka Hellenberg played all the drums on Within Temptation's album "The Unforgiving" and is involved in several band settings and recordings. Both keyboard player Johan Carlgren and bass player Janne Henriksson are frequently hired for both live and studio sessions.JONO’s music is hard to pinpoint. Maybe best described as symphonic rock with strong melodies.The band’s music has been compared to great artists like Queen, Supertramp, Saga, Kansas, Muse, among many others.But JONO’s sound has also been defined as unique – which have been developed eover time.

Jono actually started as a solo project of singer Johan Norrby (hence the name ”JoNo”), some years ago.A record was made (released in 2006), involving some of the members of todays band setting. However, Norrby decided to go for a band project instead and teamed up with the guys, whom he knew would make a perfect match. The band started working on new material, which ended up being the songs for the album "Requiem".All the members of Jono are musicians with a wide experience of all kind of musical styles. The guitarist, Stefan Helleblad, is also a member of dutch symphonic rock stars Within Temptation. The drummer Nicka Hellenberg played all the drums on Within Temptation's album "The Unforgiving".Besides working with Jono all of the members are involved in a lot of different band settings and music jobs, for example recordings, music production and so forth.he album "Requiem" was released in 2013 and very well recieved. The Jono songs are written mainly by singer Johan Norrby, arranged and completed by the whole band. Requiem was produced by Helleblad/Norrby & keyboard player Johan Carlgren. The mixing was made by Stefan Helleblad.The music is symphonic/progressive rock/pop. You might hear influences from artists like Queen, Supertramp, Saga, Sparks, Kansas ... but also from some heavier stuff. The result is a unique sound and a musical style of it's own.
