Ashes To Ashes is an alternative Metal band founded in Genova, Italy in 2010 by Marta Vassallo (pianist/vocalist), Paolo Schiavi (lead guitarist) and Paolo Di Lorenzo (drummer).They believed so much in it, just from the beginning of it. The band was slowed because of finding the definitive line up of the band. But when Enrico Cabona (second guitar) and Simone Moi (bass and vocals) joined the band, they were ready to start. So the band recorded two tracks, "Fire of Desire" and "Sleep", in Turin, at the home recording studio of Fabrizio Panebarco (vocalist and guitarist of Melody Fall). The band chose the name Ashes To Ashes, from the song by David Bowie. By the end of March 2011 the band page was created on facebook, and after some days "Fire Of Desire" was put on youtube, and from the begininning it collected many approvals and positive comments. Every day Ashes To Ashes' fans increase. In november of 2011 Simone Moi had to leave the band and the current bass player, Stefano Anentodio, joined ATA.In April of 2012 the band flew overseas. Ashes To Ashes recorded their first album at Westfall Recording Company in New York, where they had stayed for 3 weeks. In New York the band played live twice and recorded the first studio video for the single taken from the album: Alice's Song.The music of the band is appreciated so much even abroad, and everyday there are many new "Likes" at the facebook page of the band. All the Ashes To Ashes believe so much in this project, and work hard everyday for it. They all come from different music projects and listen to different genres; they think this is a strenght for them because their objective is creating their own distinctive, original sound, drawing from their different musical experiences. They think their strenght is this ambition of creating a distinctive sound, the female vocal, clean (with a tone of voice not at all conventional) and growl (that always astonishes everyone), the technical skill and compositional of the lead guitarist Paolo, the stage presence, the mixture of the band. In fact during the performance of the songs of the bands, soft moments (arpeggios, piano, sweet vocals) alternate with crushed and heavy moments (break down, incisive growl).
