Album:

One the bands with one of the coolest name is here upon us, KILLER BEE. Such a killer title, however, the name is still unimportant. On the contrary, we are here to discuss the music. First of all I must imply that these guys are veterans, back from the 1990s, they hanged around for like seven years, recorded three albums only to part ways later on. 2011 saw their comeback with an album, two years afterwards and they continue their swift return with their fifth, “Evolutionary Children”. The great thing is that I haven’t known these guys, finding “Evolutionary Children” as my first listen, a fresh start what will probably be a good thing, with no bias or favoritism. The album’s opener, "Children Of The Evolution" shed a great feeling, as if I was listening to something larger than life, an epic song played in slow tempo with some magnitude reminds me bands like MANOWAR or WIZARD, yet it felt more special, the band has a great sound and the keyboards also added a further dimension to the music, can’t pinpoint it, nevertheless a great start for this album. In contrast to the former, regarding sound and structure, "A Little Too Old" is more than Glam Metal meets Hard Rock, 80s to mid 90s with a profound guitar sound along with Brian Frank pushing it hard on the vocals.Actually the entire release shares glares of the old Hard Rock fame, like DEEP PURPLE for example. You should check the "Let's Dance" intro. Classic Glam can be found with "Ride On", a great song that made me remind the cheery 80's Metal. Like on any early Glam Metal with a Hard Rock twist, there is the power ballad, "Dust Of An Angel" introducing a piano playing, great guitar notes, reminded me more of a Power Metal ballad than anything Hard Rock, yet still a nice tune. On the other hand, "Maybe Baby" is a much suitable old fashioned ballad, but what can I say, "Dust Of An Angel" is better.Don’t miss "I'm On Fire" and "Scream It", a duo of classic Hard Rock tracks, and the one figment of Southern Rock track of "Gimme A Taste".It seems that the band expanded its taste and musical creativity towards more genres. The bottom line is that it went well for them, sometimes sticky but still fine.
