The prophets of rock once scribed in their ancient scrolls that one day a man will rise from the depths of the North Western hell and bring rock n roll back to the people...That day is the present and that man is the modest axe bearing, note shredding, lick ripping Emile Snyman. Known well in the Gauteng music scene from previous projects like My Endless Odyssey, Rebel Train Surfers and Smokehouse, Emile has moved back to his roots. After his numerous previous projects and sharing the stage with the likes of Dan Patlanksy, Fokofpolisiekar and Black Cat Bones he decided to indulge in the music that made him what he is today. He indulged in what any of the biggest bands in SA will know...the rock 'n roll. Son of a swine farmer and earning his wages from the sweat on his brow in the family business Emile quickly lost touch with a mistress named inspiration. After facing demoralizing challenges mostly logistic in nature, such as driving extreme distances just for rehearsals, Emile needed to alter the way he approached "the band" situation. One day cruising in his truck it occurred. It was the birth of a new idea, an epiphany of sorts, that came to Emile in the form of a mirage. The vision of a rock and roll eagle carrying with him the spirit of rock spoke to Emile in power chords of truth. What happened that day was the birth of a new rock child...The birth of Cadillac Sun.The idea of Cadillac Sun was to compile a repertoire of songs each unique and independently creative that would eventually form an album. This process would involve different artist performing with Emile to eventually lead to a full album. Thus eliminating the geographical gap that was previously needed to rehearse and get the creative processes going. In turn leaving one man at the wheel to drive this musical force. The band formation started and Emile was quickly lead to the core of any great rock and roll band which would be percussion. He found a drummer in the form of Francois Jones. A natural born rhythm bound beat machine with pure Bonzo and Moon influence running through his sticks. With the original idea of multiple artists and vocalists Cadillac Sun was quickly converted to a single vocalist band when Carl Heydenrych joined the rock endeavor. His powerful vocal performances rather swiftly fell right into the groove Cadillac Sun was all about and other vocalists seemed absolute. Cadillac Sun hereby rose from the ashes and a bassist joined in the multiple forms of Thean Reynecke, Dave Grevler and the ever present bass slapping Hendru Basson to take preference at live performances.Independently funded by Cadillac Sun this album took to Dave Grevler at Anti-Motion Studios and grammy winning sound mastering master Joe Laporta, who previously mastered one of Dave Grohl's little albums called Wasting Light and also dabbled in some tunes with Imagine Dragons. Teamed up with these guys they aim to get this project onto cold hard compact disc and out into the world to bring the SA music scene what it truly craves...Rock n Roll.Check out your local gig Guide for a show near you and buy the CD...it's what the rock and roll scene wants...nay...what they deserve.
