Ted Harris Poley (born January 5, 1964 in Englewood, New Jersey) is a rock singer and drummer most famous for being in the band Danger Danger.He then joined New Jersey progressive rock band Prophet as a drummer. They released their first album in 1985. Poley also sang lead vocals on some of their songs. In 1987, while working with the band's second album, he was approached by Bruno Ravel and Steve West to join Danger Danger and he accepted.With Danger Danger, Poley enjoyed much success as the band caught the late surge wave of 80s hair metal. Together they released two albums (Danger Danger and Screw It!) and toured with bands like KISS, Alice Cooper, and others.In 1993, he finished recording Danger Danger's third album, Cockroach, but was surprisingly fired from the band. They hired another singer (Paul Laine) and attempted to release the album with new vocals, but Poley sued and prevented the album from being released.The same year, he formed a new band called Bone Machine with guitarist John Allen III (Tommy Lee's band.) In 1994, they released their first album titled Dogs. In 1995, they toured the UK and released a live record titled Search and Destroy. In 1996, they released their last album titled Disappearing, Inc. The album is noted for featuring an eerie premonition of what would happen in the 2001 9/11 attacks in the cover art.In 2000, he joined the band Melodica with Gerhard Pichler on guitar. As a band, they released several albums: USAcoustica, and Lovemetal among them. During this time, Poley returned to U.S. and played for the first time in seven years.In 2001, Danger Danger finally released the album Cockroach after reaching an agreement with Epic Records. The album featured two discs: one with the Poley vocals, and the other with the new vocals by the band's new singer, Paul Laine.In 2002, Poley's band (now known as Poley/Pichler) released an album titled Big. This album featured Gerhard Pichler on guitar, Joe Slattery on bass guitar (with whom Poley had played with before in Lush back in the early 80's) and Slattery's band mate from the AOR melodic rock band Norway, Marty Brasington on drums.In 2004, he rejoined Danger Danger and started touring with them again.In 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2011, Poley recorded some songs for Sega games in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise. His contributions to the series include "Lazy Days...Livin' In Paradise," the theme of Big in Sonic Adventure; "Escape from the City," the theme of the "City Escape" stage from Sonic Adventure 2; "We Can," Team Sonic's Theme in Sonic Heroes; and "Race to Win," the theme of Sonic Rivals 2. Poley also worked on two remixes of "Escape from the City" for Sonic Generations; one in collaboration with Cash Cash and one solo remix with Jun Senoue on guitar.In 2008, rock & roll comic C.C. Banana recorded a song called "Ted Poley," released on the album "KISS MY ANKH: A Tribute To Vinnie Vincent." The song is actually a parody of the Kiss song "Unholy," inspired by the story of Poley's first encounter with Kiss lead singer Paul Stanley.

Greatest Hits - Volume 2 features re-masters of some of Ted's favorite songs that didnt make it onto the now almost sold out Vol 1 cd set- PLUS 4 new tracks not available on any of Ted's CD's until now which includes the single BREATHE( awesome video now playing on youtube) as well as a RARE track by ERIC CARR of KISS with Ted on lead vocals taken from a lost, then found demo cassette tape,vocals added later,this exclusive version is remastered! Greatest Hits Vol. 2 is a limited-edition compilation album by Ted Poley, the longtime lead vocalist of the melodic hard rock band Danger Danger. Released independently around 2013–2014, the physical CD was strictly limited to 2,000 copies and sold primarily at live shows and through Poley's online channels.Track 05 : "Just Can't Wait" was first released as an instrumental on Eric Carr's "Rockology" album. Originally this very arranged song from 1987 was never finished with vocals. The song has been remastered using Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick's drum and guitar tracks. In addition Ted Poley (of Danger Danger) adds his vocals using lyrics written in 2006 for the November 2011 release of "Eric Carr - Unfinished Business".

The next step was to speak to producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, EDGE OF FOREVER) and with a band that he put together, Ted performed at the second edition of the Frontiers Rock Festival. Ted Poley has been the representative of 'positive energy' in the US Melodic/Hard Rock field since DANGER DANGER sprang out in 1989 through (Epic scouter) Lennie Petze's Imagine Records. Whoever paying attention to his everlasting bright studio/live attitude sees no surprise in the blonde singer's decond solo album being named Smile. The same smile will appear in your face listening to twelve tunes of pure melody. You bet, if you like smiling.Whoever can recall American rockers PROPHET, he even may missed Ted Poley listed behind the drum kit(!) - along with some lead singing - in the quintet's impressive same-titled album back in 1985. While working for the Cycle Of The Moon sophomore release, Ted accepted the offer from Bruno Ravel and Steve West to join the DANGER DANGER camp. Achieving worldwide success with three thrilling releases (the last one being a matter of conflict due to new vocalist Paul Laine stepping in - it was finally released in 2001 as Cockroach in a DCD format with each disc featuring the relative singer in the same songlist!), Poley instantly marked the melodic Rock field with his high-pitched yet ultra-melodic singing, a blend limited vocalists have previously carried through the 80s.Known to many, too, by his following works with BONEMACHINE (along guitarist John Allen III from Tommy Lee's band) and MELODICA (a collaboration of Ted with Gerhard Pichler - try 2001's Love Metal for sure!) it was 2006 when Poley released what can be regarded as the man's first solo album. Collateral Damage was hailed as one of the best AOR albums the last years with impressive melodies and rather well-worked lyrics themes, with notable musicians like Andy Timmons (ex-DANGER DANGER), Pete Lesperance (HAREM SCAREM) and Bill Laverty (FIREHOUSE) donating magical playing. One year after this independent release, Smile just proves Ted is your personal fave - and, if not, he can surely become - in the 'melodic' field.Jk Nortnup - a guitarist familiar to many due to his works with Billy Thorpe, KING KOBRA, RAIL, XYZ and Paul Shortino - has provided grateful help in the making of this CD. The album sees a set of wonderful melodies, most of them located in the AOR field with not that much of in-your-face rockin' themes. The whole mood is rather cool plus the key presence describes a nice atmosphere supporting Ted's sweet singing the best possible way. Not to forget: themes, bridges, breaks and leads are rather typical but - yet - imposing and essential for the specific genre. From the opening notes of Waiting Line to the If You Can't Change your Heart reprise what you get it is predictable yet chartming and welcome melodic Rock music.Smile is a nice melodic Rock/AOR album. That simple. Just get it, if you're into the 'mild' DANGER DANGER works.

Danger Danger frontman Ted Poley is back with a solo album effort on a Sleaze Roxx readers’ year end list after an 11 year absence! Danger Danger fans will apparently get their fix with Poley‘s solo record, The Defiants and Tokyo Motor Fist — Poley‘s new joint venture with Trixter guitarist Steve Brown.”‘Modern Art’ is his latest effort, and, truth be told, I was excited about this cd even before listening to it, simply for the INCREDIBLE cover.I could sit here and literally review all 11 songs on the cd one by one, but a review of that nature isnt necessary. From the beginning track to the ending track, the fluidity of the transitions is practically seamless. Ted Poley is an AMAZING vocalist, whether you liked Danger Danger or not. His voice is just as crisp now, if not even crisper, as it was so many years ago.I was a HUGE D2 fan, and got to see Ted live in concert a few months back. His stage presence and live performance abilities are top notch, and these songs are going to be just as much fun listening to and watching being played live as they are sitting here in front of my computer.If I had to give this cd a “star rating, I’d give it 5 out of 5. It is that good. There was no point where I thought to myself “I’m not really digging this song”. Modern Art is the kind of cd that you could pop in and listen to repeatedly, and not get tired of. I want to jump in my car and put this into the cd player and just cruise around, with the top down and the radio blasting. I’ll work on making the car part a reality, its actually a work in progress.Back to the cd, the musicianship and harmonies are EXTREMELY spot on, I have to give props to his band mates, I cant read their names on the liner notes, but that’s my issue, not Ted’s. In any case, everything about this release is tremendous. If you are a supporter of “melodic rock”, or whatever label you want to put on this, do yourself a favor, and go get this cd.
