Having formed in early 2013, on the back of a drunken night out discussing music and ideas, the motivation for Heartbreak Remedy was ignited. Two years later, and having released 2 EPs, ‘Midnight Groove’ the bands’ debut album was released in May 2015, on the back of a fantastic couple of years. With influences found in various genres from Rock to Blues, Punk to funk with hints of country thrown in, Heartbreak Remedy use their influences to create a blend of music, which best suits their, heart on their sleeve lyrics, with subjects we all recognize and are familiar with.Their self released, 13 track album, has been the main focus of early 2015 for Heartbreak Remedy, but they have also found time to take to the stage across the UK alongside The Paul Raymond Project, Hardcore Superstar, The Quireboys, Sister, Stop Stop among others and will be followed by a number of headline and support gigs and lots of UK festivals throughout the year.In September 2014, the band travelled to Glasgow to take part in the final of Highway to Hell, finishing as National Runners-Up.18 Months after the band started, receiving this accolade was a fantastic achievement. Heartbreak Remedy took to the stage at Hard Rock Hell United in March 2015 as a result of that success, and were then asked to play at the Hard Rock Hell Road Trip in Ibiza May 2015 on the back of that gig.

Some days you just have to say ‘WTF’ !!!! Just when I got into that mood a little surprise came through the mail-slot and made me say WTF for another reason.For lovers of throwback straight-edged sleazy hair-rock MIDNIGHT GROOVE from HEARTBREAK REMEDY is one of those albums that allows everything else to pale into insignificance.I first met Matty and the guys 3 years ago when HEARTBREAK REMEDY first got started. These aren’t just guys who have grown up with the LA hair-metal bands as their soundtrack to life. They have taken it to the next step.MIDNIGHT GROOVE is a debut album which will keep you on a roller-coaster of emotions.Yes, they can even be danced too, air-guitared too, sung along too and damn right rocked too.!!If you haven’t seen these guys live this is a definite must as their stage presence exuberates the passion for what they are and what they do. The stage presence is not an act these are some of the nicest guys I have run into whether it be casually or interviewing. These guys are 100% genuine.So for a debut album MIDNIGHT GROOVE is one helluva debut.Rock n Roll is not just about sex, drugs, alcohol, long-hair and tattoos it is a life style which if one is able to take the ups and downs, the good and the bad and even the ugly and craft it into an album of songs which reflects them then HEARTBREAK REMEDY is the next generation of rock which will keep it exciting.

British rockers HEARTBREAK REMEDY have been working the circuit for over a decade and guested on many tours of such luminaries as The Quireboys, The Last Vegas and Warrior Soul; as well as being members of various other bands including Falling Red and Chris Holmes’ touring band.It’s almost a decade since they released the swaggering ‘Life’ EP, then an album in 2015, which laid the foundation for Heartbreak Remedy to hit the highway to hell. A heady mix of sleazy hard rock, blues and classic rock had the critics utterly captivated. If life, work, a global pandemic and more have occasionally stalled the Cumbrians’ momentum then the committed trio have never compromised.And their new album ”Let The Good Times Roll” is the decade-long, damned near perfect realisation of this band’s true potential.So what’s made all the difference? Frontman Matty Penn has finally benefitted from a vocal mix that brings his gnarly rasp alive. Luke Blair’s axe work sizzles from start to finish as the fret burner fires up some of 2023’s most ambitious solos (listen ‘One More For The Road’ for starters). And drummer Steve Jackson — a key member of Chris Holmes’ band — punches his way through 11 shatterproof tracks with all the confidence of a season vet.But perhaps that’s the key difference. Heartbreak Remedy aren’t kids anymore. They’re permanent fixtures on the buoyant NWOCR scene. Reliably proficient and riotously fun.And in 2023 the three-piece play with all the passion, power and professionalism of stadium staples.Opener “21 Kings”, a lo-fi growling ode to a favoured drinking establishment that is, on first listen, a little underwhelming but definitely becomes a grower. The full-on rocker “Just A Disease” would perhaps have been a little more of an obvious choice as opener as it sets their stall out perfectly and which continues with the threatening “White Line Suicide”.”Hurricanes And Hand Grenades” is heavy blues heaven, ”Working Man Blues” benefits from a gloriously rustic groove, while the ballad ”Goodbye” allows Penn to drain the well of emotion running through so many of the more affecting songs here.There’s a more classic rock feel to “Playing With Fire”. The hard driving, middle finger attitude of “Crypt Kicker” evokes a wry smile, and the road weary excellence of “One More For The Road” gives way to the touching acoustic closer “Drowning”, which further illustrates that this style really is Penn’s vocal forte.Looking to Let The Good Times Roll this summer?
