Simply astonishing! 'XXI Century Blood' is a surprisingly accomplished debut album from three young sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. Daniela (guitar, lead vocals), Paulina (drums, piano, vocals) and Alejandra (bass, backing vocals) Villarreal are seventeen, fifteen and twelve respectively and were a year younger when they recorded the album.Those of you who might already be thinking "Hanson" or "Avril Lavigne" need to get those thoughts out of your head right now because what we have here, despite their meagre years, is a young band apparently steeped in Rock tradition with a bona fide love of, and passion for, heavy Melodic Rock. Lest you doubt their Rock credentials, check out their Kirk Hammett-approved cover of 'Enter Sandman', or, if you're in the area, their appearance at October's Mother of All Rock Festival (a home town gig for the girls), at which they'll be sharing a stage with the likes of Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Tesla and Vince Neil.Now down to the important business and an engaging album that grabs you from the off and sustains interest. Starting as they mean to go on, both the title track and 'Shattered Heart' demonstrate a good ear for a riff and a highly-developed sense of melody and drama (the title track, incidentally, won an award for its music video and is well worth checking out). While the melodies are strong throughout, there is more depth than you'd expect from a band so young – listen, for example, to the way they jam out the ultra-catchy 'Survive' (possibly the standout track here) or the extraordinary strength of the lead vocal performance on 'Exterminated'. Elsewhere the Rocked-up 'Wild Fire', with its near sixties Joan Baez-like Folk vibe, and the more balladic 'Black Holes (Don't Hold On)' show serious Stadium Rock potential. I kid you not! In fact, over the album's thirteen original, self-penned tracks, the Villarreal's hardly put a foot wrong. It's inspiring and heart-warming stuff.There is enormous potential here – with their age, gender and nationality making The Warning a unique proposition. Perhaps the greatest challenge they face is building and keeping an audience that extends beyond their immediate peers. However, given the talent, enthusiasm and songs on show, there's no reason why, with careful handling, they can't do it. Like I said to open, simply astonishing!

“QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE” is the second album of The Warning, a power trio formed by three Mexican sisters, recorded as independents in the SOGA studios in Mexico with the producers Sacha Triujeque and Jake Carmona, the sisters had co-produced the album too.“QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE” is a conceptual album that consists of thirteen songs, divided into four chapters and a prologue, which gives an idea of ​​the literary hobbies of The Warning.From the shocking prologue, “Dust to Dust”, the album takes us on a journey of love, madness, murder and death until we reach the much descriptive “The End”.I must say that both the lyrics and the music have been written by these three sisters, Daniela, guitar and voice, Paulina, drums, piano and second voice and Alejandra bass and choirs. Them three alternate on the piano in live shows.These tracks (also edited on vinyl) vary in style, but not in intensity. The songs are full of nuances and interpreted with passion while Daniela’s voice takes us through different emotional states. Paulina is the voice of prologue and final, being always interesting to see her combine drums and voice in their direct ones. The powerful line of basses, the no less powerful drums, guitar and voice are put at the service of each song beyond personal likings.Their influences range from classic rock, Metallica to Foo Fighters or Muse, the alternative Hard Rock of the 90s and the beginning of the century but this does not prevent them from having their own style, fresh and very recognizable.The album, with a very careful production, full of instrumentation and combinations of voices, is very good. It is compact and homogeneous, there are no issues that stand out beyond personal taste, all scratching at a very good level by giving us some ballad as “Crimsom Queen”, to skirt the punk rock, “Psychotic”, passing through “Stalker”, “Red Hands Never Fade “,” Sinester Smile “,” Queen Of The Murder Scene “or” Hunter “.The Warning are undoubtedly a “rare avis”, their atypical characteristics and their insulting youth are, but it is evident that they know what they are doing.

And they are just growing.

The Warning is not another power metal band as the name might suggest. The Warning is an alternative metal band from Monterrey, Mexico. Three sisters follow their musical passion and formed the band back in 2013.Their first release was an EP called “Escape the Mind” followed by their debut album “XXI Century Blood”. Things got more serious after the band signed a deal with Lava Records, the label that will also release the Mexican power trio’s latest longplayer.“Keep Me Fed” is the title of the latest effort, which contains twelve thunderous rock/metal songs. The first three songs are already very powerful and introduce a band that is hungry and at the same time can build on the experience of the last decade. “Apologize / Hunger” has to be mentioned in this context, as it is a furious song with many twists and turns. Loud and a piano-led part at the end, this is the spectrum of music offered by this song.“Que Mas Quieres” is a very authentic song, which has to do with the Spanish lyrics, before “MORE” takes over. The latter has already been performed at the MTV VMAs 2023. What runs through the entire album is an unbridled energy. It’s the furious spirit of youth fueling an album that has an anarchic spirit and yet comes with very catchy melodies.What also stands out is the variety that makes ‘Keep Me Fed’ a very enjoyable release. There are many nuances and twists embedded in songs like “Satisfied”, while the basic pattern of each of the songs is rather similar.In a way the band reminds me of the alternative rock and metal sound of the 90s when bands like Drain STH released their fabulous debut. At the same time, The Warning bridge the early days of alternative rock with the contemporary sound represented by bands like The Pretty Reckless. Mentioning these bands only gives an idea of the spectrum we are dealing with on “Keep Me Fed”.The influences are much broader and include rock roots as well as nu metal. Even some pop vibes are spread when it comes to “Hell You Call a Dream”.“Keep Me Fed” is a wild and furious album that entertains. Those of you in need of a dose of musical caffeine will find here what you’re looking for. This album will give you a better wake-up boost than any espresso can.
