Speed Stroke is a Rock n Roll band based in Italy, started in the summer 2010.They had their debut in the internationally distributed official Tribute Album to Dave Lepard ( Crashdiet) "Reborn In Sleaze" 2011 Via Street Symphonies Records, where they perform the single "Riot in Everyone".In December 2011 they've realeased their first song "Age of Rock n Roll", that has played the role of first single included in their debut album "Speed Stroke" (Buil2kill Records/ Nadir Promotions), released in March 2013,warmly welcomed by critics and fans.On February 9th, 2014 they've shot their first videoclip produced by VMultimedia to valorize their work.The chosen song was "Sick of You" ,first track of the album, reaching awesome results.Thank to the deal signed with Jack Rock Agency and then Bagana Rock Agency, they had the chance to promote their jewel all around Italy and more, playing more than 200 live shows in 4 years, some with artists like Shameless/Tuff, Labyrinth, Sister, Tigertailz, Kissin' Dinamite, Pino Scotto,Confess, Living Dead Lights,Hardcore Superstar and the almighty STEEL PANTHER.Now they're ready to shine again, after a long writing and recording process, with their new album that is gonna be out in 2016 supported by a new video and an intense tour.

SPEED STROKE is a new Glam Hard Rock band from Bologna, Italy, formed in 2010 by guitarists D.B. and Niko, two known musicians in Italian Rock/Metal scene, also producers of many undergrond groups in the area.Their self titled, rockin’ debut just has been released in Europe few days ago.Speed Stroke toured extensively and they were invited in 2011 to participate in Dave Lepard’s tribute performing the song ‘Riot in Everyone’, one of the best covers of the disc.Stylistically the band has recognizable influences, but essentially Speed Stroke plays American Hard Rock with some Euro sleaze influences mainly in the choruses.The stars of the recording are the sharp guitars delivered in a wall of layers that truly rocks. The good thing is both are really well complemented and mixed resulting in an impactful attack never sounding muddy or noisy. Speed Stroke’s sound is completed by a hard hitting rhythm section and the incisive vocals of young singer Jack.The overall sound on this disc is sweaty, energetic yet polished hard rock with attitude.Opener “Sick Of You” is a gritty, sleazy hard rocker plenty of street gang vocals all over and killer stabbing guitars. The middle section fight between the rhythm six-strings and the soloing rocks.“Nothing’s True” is more bluesy-hard constructed in the American way with melodious guitars, same with the cowbell-fueled “Lookin’ Down”.With track four arrives the first ballad, and the only weak moment on this recording. It’s a nice cut musically, but Jack’s forced vocal performance ruins the song. I think the composition was wrongfully arranged for his pipes, because on the other slow tune on the album, “Shine”, all works fine.Talking about “Shine”, this sweet tune driven by a simple acoustics and cool orchestrated strings is cleverly placed in the track 8 slot giving some rest to the listener.Rest, because Speed Stroke does not let recover your breath with a cascade of hard melting rockers such the killer “Out Of The Pen”, the highlight for me. It has an assassin riff a la Shotgun Messiah and a powerful chorus, while the solo is hot are really outstanding.It’s followed by the party-like “One Day Is Enough” and the short and aggressive “Trust Me, I Care”, where some Hanoi Rocks can be heard. “Age Of Rock ‘n’ Roll” is an ode to the genre sonically reminding Jettblack, whilst “Flesh & Nerve” adds some melodic sleaze to the proceedings in the Crashdiet vein.“Speed Strokes Of Fire” is a one and a half minute fun re-work on the ‘Great Balls of Fire’ Jerry Lee Lewis classic, and then the album ends with the groovy, almost sensual riffage of “The Hunt”.“Speed Stroke” is a solid, energetic debut by these Italian rockers.While the songs follow the traditional Hard Rock / Sleaze patterns, the band sounds fresh and truly tight delivering twelve enjoyable tracks to rock your backyard party.The stupendous guitar work really makes the difference here, hot, valvular, melodic and sweaty, but technical and punctuating when needed with pin up rhythms and some monster solos by D.B., who also is at charge of the very slick production.“Speed Stroke” rocks, and rocks really good.

Released in March 2016 (Bagana Records).Speed Stroke are another great new band that should be so much bigger than they are. Their album Fury is full of great songs with no filler whatsoever. Initially, I wasn’t overly impressed with the lead off track “Demon Alcohol” which was featured in video format so I never bothered purchasing the album. I think that the slightly modern sounding guitar sound kind of pushed me away a little bit. I am glad that Speed Stroke later sent a copy of their album to Sleaze Roxx because as it turns out, Fury is a solid album dripping with sleaze, attitude, a tad of raunchiness and some good melodies. Sure, the slightly modern sounding guitars at times aren’t exactly what I pine for but I get that bands don’t want to play exactly ’80s sounding guitar riffs thirty years later after that era has passed by.Truth is, I have been playing Fury for some time while doing other stuff such as my “real life” job. What I noticed while doing that is that no one track really stands out above another but at the same time, every song on the album is enjoyable and I find myself pushing “play” each time that the album comes to an end. I even like the ballad “City Lights” and I am usually no fan of ballads. A lot has to do with singer Jake‘s raunchy delivery. I wouldn’t say that Jake has that great of a range with his singing but kind of like Ratt‘s Stephen Pearcy, the songs’ scope and style fit very well with his vocals.My favorite tracks on Fury are the Extreme funk like sounding “Bet It All,” “1 More 1” with its catchy chorus and the slower but more melodic “From Scars To Stars.” The one knock on the songs on Fury is that they kind of all sound alike in some ways. That takes me back to when I have been listening to the album and no one track really stands out over the other. To pick out the three aforementioned tracks as my favorites on the album, I had to really listen to the album and pay attention.Overall, Speed Stroke‘s Fury is the type of record that I can put on and enjoy pretty much right away from start to finish. Does it really matter if there is no one song that sticks out over the rest? Probably not. The more important thing is that Speed Stroke have delivered eleven solid sleaze filled songs that are definitely worth checking out.

Definitely, Speed Stroke is back with a bang!Mixed by Marco Paradisi & D.B. at Boat Studio (Bologna, Italy) and mastered by Giovanni Versari at La Maestà Mastering (Grammy winner for his work on the album "Drones" by Muse), "Scene Of The Crime" is scheduled for release on November 6, 2020, via Street Symphonies Records / Burning Minds Music Group. A special personalized edition, created by Outward Styles in a very limited quantity of 50 copies, will be available exclusively on the label's online shop in October. The cover art has been designed by SoloMacello (Black Veil Brides, Nick Oliveri, Elvenking, Band Of Spice, Valient Thorr), while the CD booklet features introductory liner notes written by renowned journalist Fabio Magliano (Metal Hammer Italy).
