Bio:

Infinity's Call is a 4 piece hardrock band from Ulm, Germany consisting of members already having good names in the rock szene. In 2004 the band dropped the first CD „Light in the Dark“ on the market, which generated quite a buzz and good sales figures for a self release. The next years the band toured and also saw some line up changes. Now Infinity's Call is complete again and recorded a new album entitled „Unconditional“ Melodic yet heavy, diverse although consistend sounding. You'll find groovy mid-tempo hard rock songs and fast melodic metal songs side by side on this album.Always with the extra amount of musicality and creativity which makes for good rock music. In the spirit of the eighties yet alive and fresh sounding – crowned by hooky choruses and majestic harmonies.A timeless hard rock album which revives the spirit of an era.

Album:

All the members of INFINITY'S CALL have previously played in other bands. Names like CHINCHILLA and DYNASTY, for example, appear in the band’s lineup history, and guitarist Philipp Zanella even played with the legendary TYRANT. And it quickly becomes clear upon listening to the album “Unconditional” that these are no beginners. The songs are clearly structured, effortlessly switching between nostalgic and modern elements while consistently maintaining an intelligent balance between catchiness and sophistication. INFINITY’S CALL could have given slightly faster, more powerful tracks a bit more space, but their musical direction is based more on melodic and emotional aspects. Thanks to well-placed hooks and well-crafted climaxes, the songs are generally very catchy. The only criticism one might have regarding the album’s overall length is a slight lack of variety. The Ulm-based band makes up for this with a consistently high standard of songwriting. There are no real weak points, though there isn’t a standout track either. I’d recommend “Bitter Taste Of Destiny,” “Where Does Love Go,” and “Say What You Gotta Say” as tracks to check out, though in terms of quality, the songs are generally on par with one another. On the technical side, I’d like to see a bit more expressiveness from singer Claus Zeller. His smoky, melodic voice fits the style and the songs quite well, but I still don’t hear that final intensity in some of the choruses.Fans of more melodic hard rock can definitely add “Unconditional” to their to-listen list. Nevertheless, I believe that with a touch more variety and a few breaks from overly narrow boundaries, INFINITY’S CALL can achieve even more in the future.
