Tak Matsumoto Group (often abbreviated as TMG) is a supergroup consisting of members from several bands around the world. It includes Tak Matsumoto, Eric Martin, and Jack Blades.From July to September 2004, they embarked on their "Dodge the Bullet Tour" of Japan.After a single, an album, 20 shows, and a live video, the band did not perform again until twenty years later in 2024. In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone India, Martin said he asked Matsumoto every year about a possible reunion, to which Matsumoto always answered, "Let me think about it".On February 28, 2024, in an interview with Rockpages.gr, Jack Blades revealed that the band would be making a second album.A week later, on March 8, the band officially announced its reformation 20 years after its initial conception and would be releasing a second album and hold a nationwide tour across Japan.On November 22, 2022, it all began with this exchange. After 20 years, a Japanese-U.S. joint hard rock band is back in action. We'll be touring the country with our new album. Whether you saw us 20 years ago or it's your first time, TMG is ready to rock with you!

Tak Matsumoto - began his professional career as a session musician and in 1988, formed B’z, as Japanese rock duo, debuting in September of the same year.As a world acclaimed six-string virtuoso, Tak joined legendary greats, to become the fifth guitarist in the world, and first Japanese to have his own Gibson signature model in 1999.Tak joined forces with jazz guitarist, Larry Carlton and released the album, Take Your Pick and after a successful tour of Asia and Japan, Take Your Pick won a GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album at the 53rd GRAMMY Awards in 2011.Over the years since its debut, the band has been No. 1 in Japan in both name and reality, and continues to captivate listeners with its outstanding guitar playing and unique tone that plays fluid melodies.

In March this year, TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group) announced that they would restart with the original members after 20 years. Details of the national tour ‘TMG LIVE 2024 -Still Dodging The Bullet-’ have been announced and the long-awaited new album ‘TMG II’ will finally be released on 18 September!In this new album, the first in 20 years since the last one, Matsumoto's solid and delicate guitar playing is still there, as well as Eric Martin's vocals that sing melodious melodies emotionally, and Jack Blaze's bass and vocals that make the songs more aggressive and lively. This is the band's second album, and you can feel that the 20 years that each member has been at the forefront of the band has not been a period of limbo, but a period of preparation for the one and only TMG rock sound to gain even more power!The recording of this album was done by Matt Sorum on drums, who is active in Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, and Yukihide, who is well-known for recording and live support for B'z, on guitar and arrangements. ‘YT’ Takiyama on guitar and arrangements, as well as Daniel Ho, who released the album “Electric Island, Acoustic Sea” with Matsumoto in 2017, and Jeff Babko, whose brilliant sound is also featured on Matsumoto's solo album ‘Bluesman’, and others.The catchy melody of ‘CRASH DOWN LOVE’, which symbolises the new TMG sound, is impressive, as is ‘GUITAR HERO’, for which Jack wrote the lyrics with Tak in mind, and ‘BABYMETAL’, a metal dance unit that is expanding its activities worldwide. In addition to ‘ETERNAL FLAMES’, which features guest appearances by the globally active metal dance unit BABYMETAL and features a pleasant, fast-paced exchange with Eric, the album also features a TMG-style reworking of ‘Another Great Day! in 2021, which Takahiro Matsumoto provided to LiSA, and ‘THE STORY OF LOVE (feat. LiSA)’, a TMG-style rearrangement of the song. Matsumoto himself is proud of the fact that he was able to create a satisfying work with his wonderful band members, and a total of 11 songs will be included in the album.The PREMIUM EDITION includes the complete Blu-ray of the Zepp Tokyo show from the 2004 national tour ‘TMG LIVE 2004 -Dodge The Bullet-’. The live footage of the Zepp Tokyo performance recorded on the 2004 DVD ‘TMG LIVE 2004 - Dodge The Bullet-’ has been reconstructed on Blu-ray, including previously unreleased footage, and the realistic live footage is a must-see. In addition, the limited-quantity production version includes a metal photo frame with artist photos and the members' autographs printed on a copper plate, a special item reminiscent of TMG's massive sound.The day after the album's release, the long-awaited TMG national tour ‘TMG LIVE 2024 -Still Dodging The Bullet-’ begins.
