Paralandra hails from Springfield, Missouri, and formed in the summer of 2013 when Casandra Carson and her dad, Paul Carson, began writing songs together to play a one-time event at their local county 4th of July celebration. The response was so positive, and they enjoyed it so much, they decided to continue booking shows and writing songs. They recorded and released a homemade CD titled Rise Up; which sold over 1,000 copies at local shows. Shortly after, friend and local musician, Sawyer Rikard, joined the band on bass guitar in 2015, bringing their stage sound and performance to another level. In March of 2016, they released a follow-up EP, All Fall Down, which debuted #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. They soon began touring and being invited to festivals such as Rocklahoma, SXSW, Rockfest, Dirtfest, Loud in Lima, etc.In 2018, they joined forces with Legend Recordings, and released another EP, Ascension, which became their biggest release yet with singles “Back to Life” and “Killer Queen” landing on the radio. Shortly after, they added local powerhouse drummer (and childhood friend of Sawyer), Dakota Watson, to form the rhythm section Casandra, Paul, and Sawyer had always dreamed of. In 2019, they recorded standalone single “Love Will Win” with producer/videographer, Jake Jones, which gained even more radio play, and placed them on numerous national tours; supporting artists such as Tantric, Saliva, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dokken, and being added to the KISS Kruise and NAMM Show.The band continued to write, record, livestream, and perform wherever they could during the 2020 pandemic, and only continued to gain traction and fans from all over the world. Reaching out on a whim, they won over the attention of renowned producer/songwriter, Elvis Baskette, and shortly thereafter, entered the studio to record their first professionally made, full length album, Street Magic, in 2021. This release proved to be a monumental success, skyrocketing their audience with over 5 million views and streams across all platforms. Radio singles from this release alone include “For the Record”, “Despicable”, “Repeat Offender”, “Can’t Quench the Fire”, and “Only Human”.Paralandra has since toured the country on multiple headlining runs, and is constantly supporting iconic bands such as Warrant, Lita Ford, Firehouse, Last in Line, and countless others with no end in sight. They reentered the studio with Elvis Baskette in 2023 and recorded their 2nd studio album, which is due April 4, 2024. They plan for this release to be just as big, if not bigger than the last, as they continue to record, write, tour, and work tirelessly to build their brand, and change the direction of rock music to be a force for good in this world.

Casandra's Crossing introduce the new musical alliance between the guitar legend George Lynch and the powerhouse singer Casandra Carson. The musical chemistry between these two talented artists has created this magnificent Modern Hard Rock album that showcases Lynch's Riffing Trademark driven by the outstanding voice of Casandra Carson, that is set to be the next singing sensation.Frontiers Music are doing as much as anyone to keep Heavy Rock music alive, both with their hugely impressive roster and a multitude of new music releases every month. I can’t lie though, at times their hybrid band releases where they put a number of artists together don’t always work for me and they occasionally strike me as contractual obligations. From the outset however, the combination of legendary guitarist George Lynch and Paralandra singer Casandra Carson piqued my interest as I am a huge fan of both artists.There is a real connection between these musicians and the vocal style of Carson fits perfectly with the axe work of one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived, with the combination on display here producing an album of the highest quality. Opening track and first single ‘Strangers’ will give you a good idea of what to expect. Soaring vocals, huge riffs and above all an intense and immediate melody that all combine to produce a song that doesn’t just introduce itself to the listener, it actually kicks the doors down and it is a monumental opener. I’ve loved Lynch since his Dokken days and you can recognise his style a mile off. Unlike some recent records from old school guitar masters this album doesn’t stint on huge solos as well as a dynamic buzz that persists throughout the entire record and most of all the stylings of a man who is still at the very top of his game. ‘Impatient’ is a heavy, yet still bluesy song while ‘Closer To Heaven’ is a chugging beast of a track that doesn’t stint on melody or high emotion. Casandra’s vocal performance on this track is hugely impressive and you get the vibe she should be a musical superstar once this album hits the streets.‘Ring Me Around’ keeps the Heavy Rock train rolling with another big chorus and some stealthy guitar acrobatics, while ‘Devastating Times’ has a touch of Prog Rock to it before it swings into a full blown Metal song that blows away the cobwebs. ‘Waltzing Nites’ has a big fat bluesy sound to it and is a touch more laid back than the rest of the album, while ‘Just Business’ has an opening guitar salvo that sounds like prime Dokken and perfectly offsets against the almost hypnotic vocal tone of Casandra Carson.‘Mind Eraser’ is perhaps the only weak link on the record. It’s perfectly serviceable but a touch generic for my liking and definitely overlong at over five minutes in length. ‘Run For Your Life’ soon sets things right because it’s an absolute banger which sounds almost like something Girlschool would have hammered out back in the day. ‘Wicked Woman’ s a pretty standard rocker but album closer ‘Kneel Before You’ ends things with a bang and it’s a heavy grinder that is both powerful and immediate that sounds great to these ears.In conclusion, if your looking for Heavy Metal with amazing vocals and dazzling guitar work you’ve come to the right place. This is a great album that barely makes a misstep and I’d be seriously interested to hear more music from this duo.
