Bio:

Fahrenheit is an AOR/hard rock band from Grimsby, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1993.For the release of the one and only studio album the band called itself Fahrenheit UK to avoid confusion with other bands from the same name.Formed back in 1985 by Dave Burley (vocals) and Adrian Hoe (keyboards), the band featured three different line-up in the 1986-1990 time-frame and recorded three tapes for a total of 15 songs, in the classic UK Melodic Rock style and in the vein of bands like FM, Strangeways and Heartland. All these recordings (taken from original masters) will be featured on the Cd called “Feel The Heat” that will be released as Vol. 26 of the “Lost UK Jewels” Series, with the the usual 16-pages booklet full of unseen pics, memorabilia and the history of the band told by UK Hard-Rock specialist Rob Evans.

Album:

As part of the great ”The Lost UK Jewels” series unearthing lost bands which deserved better luck or at least, exposure, here’s “The Lost UK Jewels Vol. 26: FAHRENHEIT UK – Feel The Heat“, limited to 500 units. There were / are many bands with the same name, this FAHRENHEIT hails from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. The group released an EP and a full album in the Nineties, however “Feel The Heat” compiles all FAHRENHEIT UK recordings between 1986-1990, their more melodic rock / AOR era.FAHRENHEIT have made no secret of their influences when it came to writing their material, and Steve Overland’s FM has always been their main influence. Winners of Metal Hammer’s “Find A Band Competition” and proud owners of a “Friday Rock Show” session, FAHRENHEIT have taken the grim out of Grimsby and replaced it with a huge chunk of sun-drenched AOR hewn from the smoothest rock. With interest from Warner Bros Records, support slots with Saxon, Vow Wow and Magnum, this is the usual story of missed opportunities and failed promises.Musically think FM, Heartland, Strangeways and Tobruk, to name but a few British peers from the ’80s.This CD collection contains all their recordings / demos between ’86 and ’90 and presents a bunch of great British-style AOR songs that all lovers of the genre should not miss. All tracks recorded between 1986 and 1990, all remastered from the demo-cassettes.
