Norwegian melodic hard rock / heavy band formed in 2022 in Oslo.Invasion impressed many with their debut self-titled album in 2023.The totally independent band formed not long before that in 2022 and are based in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Now they are preparing to unveil their sophomore release with Invasion II on August 23, 2024. Already two singles are available. “All For All” which includes an official video seen below and “Banshee Queen“.

One thing is certain; Nordic countries know how to impress. Not only do they have the most incredible landscapes, but they know how to make Rock music in a very impressive way. We all know about the amount of good Norwegian Black Metal bands, Finnish (Melodic) Death Metal bands, without even mentioning all the great Swedish bands that are roaming the earth.But what a lot of people do not realize is that they also know how to rule the more melodic spectrum. Glam and Party Rock are high on their abilities list, and thankfully Melodic Hard Rock and Melodic Metal also. Like the Norwegian band INVASION are treating us to on their self-titled debut album.The band consists of experienced musicians that have shared stages with artists such as JORN, Åge Steen Nilsen (Wig Wam) and others. So what you will hear is done by people who know what it takes. The big question therefore is whether their songwriting has actually delivered the quality we are hoping for.We can answer that question with a full-fledged YES! – “Invasion” sounds phenomenal, and the songs are all of a standard way above the average. They rock, they swing, but most of all, they grab you by the throat and will not let you go at any time.This first Invasion offering is quite metallic at places, however crystal clear and all-time melodic. Some songs like ‘Communication Nation’ adds a melodic hard rock sheen with a midpaced pulse.There’s many remarkable things with this splendid band: songwriting is excellent, they never forget melody n’ hooks, their playing is second to none, and the self-production stellar, punchy, vibrant.We are sold; Invasion is destined for big things – let’s hope they keep independent and creating the music they love, with the sound they love… and let me tell you, we all love!
