We'll give you a hint: Octane does not run on diesel...For more than 10 years, Octane has been making its way in the world of French rock metal with its original compositions and heady riffs.The story of the band is first and foremost a friendship between passionate musicians, Alex (guitar, vocals and songwriting), Fabien (drums) and Laurent (bass) which has grown over the years, concerts, hours of work and litres of beer and Jack, and also thanks to the behind-the-scenes work of our managers Karol & Flo.After several years of sharing vocals in a female/male duo that you can find on the last albums (Morgane on C8H18 and Mali on "The life I choose" released in 2021), Octane returns in 2022 to its original configuration, a power trio that assumes its carbu metal style and its killer rhythm section.After 2 years of silence, Octane is BACK IN THE GAME! New compositions that you will be able to discover at the first concerts and a new album that will be released on October 8th 2022.Already many concert dates for 2022, in France, Belgium, between festivals, halls and bikers' gatherings. They say it themselves on their website: Octane is best enjoyed live! But then, you might ask, what's the point of reviewing their studio album? Well, I'll simply answer that good albums also make good live albums! Not convinced? Well, listen to this Back In The Game to understand what I mean, and at the same time, take the first opportunity to go and see these real rockers burn up the stage!As autumn slowly settles in after the craziest summer in fifty years of human memory, we need to find refuge and comfort in the passion that runs through our veins and makes us vibrate from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet: rock'n'roll!To say that Octane does the job would be a mild understatement! Lovers of hairy and inspired riffs, raucous vocals and choruses ready to make a whole stadium of zombies stand up, be ready for Octane! The band is already on its third album and their heavy rock with metallic riffs (carbu metal being the name they give it, I think it fits perfectly and I'm going back to my Fluide Glacial collection to reread all the episodes of Mammoth & Piston) gives us sudden urges to jump to the ceiling like crazy (I avoid it, I'm too old, but the urge is there! Octane doesn't eat bread, but it puts bread in your face (not a bad slogan, is it?) and energy is their driving force. One thinks of Ac/Dc for the riff machine, but also of Metallica or Judas Priest for the federative Metal side. We can imagine the band from Laval bringing out the big guns for their future dates (see their website at the bottom of the page). Already present alongside Tagada Jones and many other rock'n'metal killers on the stage, there's no doubt that the powder will talk! To come back to the album, don't see any risk of hearing something old-fashioned or with a seventies production: not at all! The sound is modern, the guitars are heavy and it's hard hitting.For a return to the fundamentals of rock and metal, France seems to have become a very productive asylum, so get on your Harley and come and shout with these people from Laval who have been burning up the stages for more than ten years and that won't stop you from enjoying this excellent album!
