Album:

Black Veil Brides shared a common vision for their self-titled fourth album: "We want this album to disassemble everything," confirms Andy. "We wanted to go to the last tour as soon as possible because back in the rehearsal room and write songs together and see, now it is the hardest rock 'n' roll album become what we have ever done."Black Veil Brides was founded in 2006 by Andrew Biersack, Johnny Herold and Phil "Catalyst" Cendella. A little later, Nate Shipp and Chris Riesenberg were added. The name Black Veil Brides is a term from the Roman Catholic Church. If a woman in the Middle Ages became a nun, abandoned all their worldly pleasures and her life had dedicated to God, it was as black veil bride (ed): referred (black veil, German »black veil"). For the band, the name also refers to the positive and negative sides of life: the white veil at a wedding and the black veil of mourning. With legendary producer Bob Rock [Metallica, Mötley Crüe] arose a boundless and unbridled energy at the same time. Bob has proven to be very important in order to initiate the process.

In December 2009, the band embarked on their first US tour, titled "On Leather Wings

Album:

Los Angeles rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES will release their fifth album, "Vale", on January 12 via Lava/Universal Republic. The follow-up to BLACK VEIL BRIDES' 2014 self-titled effort, which was originally expected to arrive in September, was produced by John Feldmann at his Southern California studio.BLACK VEIL BRIDES frontman Andy Biersack said: "We cannot wait for the BVB army to hear 'Vale' in its entirety!"In my opinion, this record is the most complete and exciting album we have done to date."The opportunity to work with John Feldmann once again over the course of the past two years creating 'Vale' was an incredible experience and I am thrilled with the collection of songs we have put together as a band."The Latin translation of 'Vale' is 'be well, be strong!' and central to the message of this record."We hope to continue to inspire our fans and friends to embrace their own individuality and inner strength."The central narrative once again finds 'The Wild Ones' characters facing the challenge of moving on from the pain and anguish of their past and looking to a new chapter in their lives. This concept is one that is near to my heart and I believe will resonate with those that find themselves cast on the fringe of society."From our inception, BLACK VEIL BRIDES have stood up for the outcasts and disenfranchised. With this album, [we] hope to give you hope, fun and most importantly a kickass rock and roll record."During a recent interview with the Rock Sound Podcast, Biersack explained the delay in getting the new disc released. He said: "First of all, we took fifteen months to make the record, and so in that way, we really wanted everything to be as perfect as possible. And the original deadline that we gave ourselves while the record was completed and the mixing was completed, we weren't able to get the artwork and assets and all the stuff together exactly how we wanted it. And while listening to it, there were also elements and stuff I wanted to change."People don't necessarily understand that when you're on a major label that they determine when stuff is released," he continued. "And so they gave us the initial deadline that they would have preferred we released the record on the first time, and they were just unable to get the assets together, and also on our end, we just weren't quite done at the original time. So we had a discussion with the label and they were in agreement with us that it seemed like we should try to line it up with something big tour-wise."Biersack delved deeper into BLACK VEIL BRIDES' reasons for wanting to take a bit longer to make an album they were all really happy with, explaining: "We've been doing this for a very long time, and it seemed like if we were gonna take time to make a record, it seemed like the right time to really try to sink our teeth into doing something that we really spent time cultivating. Before, it's not to say that we didn't spend time with it, but we were on deadlines and we were also a very young band that people were saying, 'We've gotta get this record out. We've gotta get you on tour.' And we've never really been afforded the opportunity to take our time with something."We wound up doing it in three different locations with Feldmann, because he wound up moving studios in the middle of the record," he added. "So it was kind of fun record in the sense that I sang the vocals for it in so many different places and I saw so many different rooms and the writing process took place in so many different places while I was on tour, and we were at Jake's [Pitts, guitar] personal home studio for a while. And it was a really fun and interesting way of doing the album over the course of over a year."Asked about the overall sound of the new BLACK VEIL BRIDES album, Andy said: "We made 'Wretched And Divine [The Story Of The Wild Ones]' with John in 2013, and that was, at least commercially, our most successful record to date. A song like 'In The End' is probably our most successful song. And so a lot of times, people point to that record as the sound of the band. But what I think is interesting is that we have evolved significantly, I think, from record to record — from the first record to the fifth record. The previous record that we made with [producer] Bob Rock was a much more straight-ahead, hard rock, heavy metal record. I think that this album — and everybody says this, of course, because you want it to be true — but at least for me, I believe that it's a nice combination of many different eras of the band. I think that it represents all the different places that we've been while retaining that Feldmann thing, that thing about Feldy that I don't think anybody else can even touch or come close to; he just knows how to make things huge. And writing with Feldy is one of my favorite things, so to be able to come back into the world of doing heavy, darker rock music after doing a pop record together [with ANDY BLACK]."We've been in a band together — Jake and Jinxx [guitar] and Ashley [Purdy, bass] and C.C. [Christian Coma, drums] and I — have been a band together for a decade, we know each other pretty well and the writing process is pretty simple in that way. So I think, all in all, it's a record that's very representative of where we are as a band at this point in our career. I'm not gonna tell you, 'Well, it's our heaviest and most melodic,' or, 'This is the best…' I think that it's just a record that we're really, really proud of and I think it's a great album and I think the fans are gonna like it, and it's a long time coming. At this point, it'll be four years since the last BLACK VEIL record, by the time it's out. So I think it's a long time coming, and I think people are gonna really enjoy it."BLACK VEIL BRIDES will embark on a North American co-headline tour, dubbed "The Resurrection Tour", with ASKING ALEXANDRIA, kicking off January 10 at The Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah, rolling through major markets coast to coast, and concluding in Las Vegas, Nevada at House of Blues on March 2. CROWN THE EMPIRE will act as support on all dates.

In December 2009, the band embarked on their first US tour, titled "On Leather Wings

Album:

BLACK VEIL BRIDES will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut, "We Stitch These Wounds", with a brand new, reimagined, re-recorded 2020 edition of the album titled "Re-Stitch These Wounds".Having a history that dates back to 2006, Black Veil Brides quickly took the world by storm with Glam Metal war paint, an intense fanbase known as the BVB Army, and of course, their handsome, charismatic leader Andy Biersack. In fact, their 2010 debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, sold nearly 11,000 copies in its first week, reaching the position of #36 of the Chart Billboard 200, #1 Independent Release, and laid the groundwork for a very bright future. Now, amazingly a decade later, Black Veil Brides has decided to repackage the debut record and title it Re-Stitch These Wounds.Set for release on Friday, July 31st through Sumerian Records, only a week apart from We Stitch These Wounds’ 10th birthday, Re-Stitch These Wounds features all the tracks from the original release, however, as completely re-recorded and remastered versions. That said, while redoing something which is already so beloved is no easy task, Black Veil Brides manages to do it quite well with Re-Stitch These Wounds. Read on to find out why…Launched with a brief introduction, the epic opening of “We Stitch These Wounds” tears in as the clarified, passionate guitars ring out. Biersack’s vocals retain a rich depth and purpose, but also display a maturity that has evolved since the song’s original incarnation. Adding to it all, Coma’s drumming attacks and slices through the air, helping fuel a frantic pacing. The follow up, “Beautiful Remains,” keeps its breathtaking melodic undertone beneath Biersack’s harsh growls as the chunky tempo work of Jinxx interchanges with Jake Pitts. This is as “Children’s Surrender” remains rightfully very similar to its original composition, but while carrying a refreshed, polished execution.Moving along, the opening of “Perfect Weapon,” with the wickedly delightful scream of Biersack, quickly gives way to multi-layered guitars and the pop of drums. Grand, open, and driven, the guitars/bass play perfectly to Biersack’s vocals with a poised and insurmountable tone. Which leads us to the signature “Knives and Pens,” a track filled with expertly composed nostalgia. Packing an even bigger punch, the buildup of the breakdown is perfectly overlaid with a classic Pitts guitar solo. Following next, “Mortician’s Daughter” is redone as a slow instrumental where piano wistfully plays against sorrowful, charming strings. Not everything is tweaked too much though, because “Heaven’s Calling” remains a true headbanger. Opening with intensity, grinding guitars, the vocals, occasionally backed by a chorus, flow like water, culminating in an unforgettable chorus. The dynamic outset of “Never Give In” is then an outpouring of ferocity. Interestingly, the tone resembles Black Veil Brides’ 2014 self-titled album; especially in moments where the vocals darken and the fire tangibly rages in the instrumentation. Lastly, the album concluded as a revamped soft-spoken “Carolyn” emerges with a stunningly interweaved tapestry of chugging guitars. For fans, the ten year anniversary of We Stitch These Wounds has been long awaited. A lot has happened for Black Veil Brides since the album’s release – they have grown as people and musicians. As for the band’s new vision of the album, the guitars echo their former selves, but with an updated intensity and clarity. Furthermore, the drums and bass keep a depth and heaviness; something that easily got lost in the frequencies of the original tracks. As for Biersack, his vocals have obviously developed and become far more polished in the last decade. Because of such, there is a decisiveness in the power as well as execution with his singing. Overall, the rebirth of this album is a glowing representation of the band’s evolution and sincerity to their craft.

In December 2009, the band embarked on their first US tour, titled "On Leather Wings

Album:

Whoever said that a tiger never changes his stripes has never encountered the Cincinnati-born metalcore turned modern rock with a lot of twists juggernaut known as Black Veil Brides. Originally cutting their teeth in the studio circa 2010 with a sound fairly reminiscent of contemporary albums out of the likes of All That Remains, As I Lay Dying and In Flames, their track record has since included a number of evolutionary leaps, including but not limited to a glam/shock rock stint and a foray into classically-tinged, metal-adjacent complexity that has since seen this quintet practically all over the hard rock map. If nothing else, they are a band with a sense of artistic ambition that is at least equal to their extremely flamboyant image, which has often found them compared to the likes of Alice Cooper, Kiss and Marilyn Manson, and their sixth studio LP is a testament to a band that knows how to put a collection of radio-friendly bangers into a storybook experience. In many respects, “The Phantom Tomorrow” is a continuation of the conceptual scheme that this outfit had previously adopted on 2013’s “Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones” and it’s 2018 prequel “Vale”, but with a darker and more sinister tone. Buoyed by a rock solid rhythm section performance turned in by veteran kit man Christian “CC” Coma and newly recruited bassist Lonny Eagleton, it’s an album largely built off hook-oriented bangers with a familiar and highly methodical sense of structure. Then again, the devil is always in the details, and it is in the ornamentation and deviation provided by lead guitarist Jake Pitts and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Jinxx that turns an otherwise by-the-numbers arena rock affair with some metallic flourishes into a formidable creation that often mimics the theatrically charged and impact-based albums one might expect from the likes of Solution .45 or The Unguided.Naturally one would be remiss not to note the impressive vocal display turned in by Andy Biersack, whose clean cut yet fairly forceful approach could be likened to a less melodramatic rendition of Howard Jones’ cleaner moments during his tenure with Killswitch Engage or that of less raspy Philip Labonte. The level of consistency that comes with what he brings to each of these compact yet dynamic songs has a bolstering effect on the whole arrangement, perhaps coming off as static when compared against the music going on around it, but also providing the sort of melancholy narrator persona that fits the story being conveyed. Whether the flavor of the moment be a mid-paced riff machine such as leadoff single “Scarlet Cross”, a mellower pop/rock infused romp with a strong keyboard backdrop in “Born Again”, or a blistering metallic assault such as “Crimson Skies”, Biersack proves a consistently well-rounded presence, going with the flow and prepping to inspire plenty of sing-along moments on future tour dates with his accessible melodic swagger.Perhaps the most notable improvement that this album makes with regard to this band’s last entries into conceptual territory is a less abrupt and more organic employment of instrumental passages and interludes. The title track and opening prelude has a decidedly cinematic flavor to it that manages to be both Hollywood-like and displays Jinxx’s flair for composing neo-classical fanfare, yet also makes room for some strategic guitar usage. Likewise, the mid-album interlude “Spectres” sees some of his signature violin work providing an additional layer of vividness upon an album that frequently flirts with a European metal sound. Even within proper rockers such as “Torch” and “Fields Of Bone”, the energetic drive that functions as the band’s preferred cadence point is accompanied by frequent atmospheric breaks for added contrast, which is developed further on the punchy, high-impact metallic bluster of “Shadows Rise”. But interestingly enough, the biggest standout moment occurs on one of the more basic melodic numbers “Kill The Hero”, which is where Pitt’s guitar work just crushes it from start to finish.Arguably the only downside to this album, which is yet another way in which it mirrors their original excursion into rock opera territory in 2013, is that this album’s release was plagued with delays due to ongoing lockdowns hampering promotion efforts and subsequent touring. Suffice it to say, the wait will prove well worth it for existing fans of the band, which has always been an area where Black Veil Brides has excelled in spite of their frequent shifts in both sonic and visual aesthetics. Contrary to what some naysayers in the critical field have thrown this band’s way, there is a level of appeal beyond the mainstream rock and fickle pop world to this band, and this particular album may prove highly attractive to more rock-ribbed metalcore and melodic groove metal fans who prefer their infectious tunes to pack a harder punch. The songs may be short and the cliché hooks plentiful, but there is absolutely a credibility to this that transcends the flashy stage getup.

In December 2009, the band embarked on their first US tour, titled "On Leather Wings

Album:

Black Veil Brides will release their seventh studio album,"Vindicate", on May 8 via Spinefarm. From the opening organ introduction and dramatic soliloquy of "Invocation To The Muse" to the emotive finale of "Eschaton", the band - vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton and drummer Christian Coma - deliver one of the most ambitious chapters of their career.Previously released singles including "Bleeders", "Hallelujah" and "Certainty" have already showcased the band's continued musical evolution while maintaining the theatrical intensity that has defined their sound.Biersack comments: "This record is rooted in the feelings of revenge and vindication. These are emotions that can either push us forward or hold us back. There's a duality to them. They can fuel growth, drive ambition, and help us rise above what's tried to break us, but they can also become destructive if we let them consume us."Each song explores a different side of that struggle. Sometimes it's about getting even with someone else, sometimes it's about confronting ourselves and our past, our pain or the things that were done to us. At its core, though, this album is about resilience. It's for anyone who's ever had their dreams doubted or their fire challenged by people who couldn't see their vision. We're all born with that spark. The world will try to take that away at times, but this record is about holding on to it, fighting back, and turning those struggles into something powerful."The latest preview from the album arrives with the release of the title track, "Vindicate". Featuring a haunting calliope introduction that erupts into a driving wall of guitars and Biersack's signature scream, the song captures the dramatic scale and power fans have come to expect from BLACK VEIL BRIDES.
