Profile Taste was formed by the two brothers Christoffer and Felix Borg the day before new year’s eve in 2009. First, Taste was only supposed to be a side-project, because both also had played in other groups. But it didn’t take long before the Swedes decided to turn Taste into a full band. During the two following years, they wrote and recorded five songs inspired by the 80′s and bands like Europe, FM, Giant, Valentine and White Lion.Since they never met any suitable band members to complete the line-up and therefore couldn’t play live, the brothers decided to record their first full-length album themselves. Taste had a vision to blend a vintage 80’s sound with a fresh modern production. The self-titled album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Christoffer Borg in his own studio and will now be released on CD by AOR Heaven on January 18th.

TASTE is a band from Stenungsund, Sweden. The band represents beautiful kind of music which comes from distant Swedish AOR and melodic Hard Rock, inspired by the 80s. TASTE was founded in 2009 by brothers Christoffer (Lead Vocals / Guitars) and Felix Borg (Bass / Drums). The brothers recorded their first full-length album themselves, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by Christoffer Borg in his own studio and was recently released by AOR Heaven."Back To The Future” demonstrates a short view of the overall of the next forty minutes, a great mover back in time to the genre's gold days. My favorite song is "Doesn’t Feel Like Love”. I was touched by the awesome catchiness that this song possess, might sound with a bit of Pop, but it has great rhythm guitars, catchy chorus, and I can't complain about the rhythm section, a radio friendly track perfectly composed. Surely fans of H.E.A.T. will be in seventh heaven. “Danger Games”, with its keyboards performance has a BON JOVI vibe with a shred of EUROPE. “Our Dreams” will produce a smile on your face, I hope. It has great singing, full melodies, romantic type lyrics not that cheesy and great energies. Totally amazing and brilliant. The AOR ballad “Cry For Love” has a heartrending chorus and atmospheric keyboards commanded by an remarkable guitar work. Worth listening is also the charming “My Rose” delivered with a fantastic piano and fabulous guitars, took me to the majestic realms of AXEL RUDI PELL. Christoffer Borg's voice is oh so gentle. “In My Arms (Tonight)” is a heavier number with dynamisms, cool lyrics on the chorus displayed in the likes of DOKKEN and GOTTHARD. “The One” begins like an 80s power ballad with the common natured lyrics “You are the one, the one for me…”. Other text examples: “We are destined to be together, you will always be mine heart, You are the one…”. The guitar riffs are melodic and similar to the song "An Arrow from the Sun" by THERION.I love this album and this band, they created fantastic music, catchy melodies and they show that classic Hard Rock is the real deal. It's hard to believe that TASTE consists only of 2 members. Everything, every sound is great, no boredom just plain relaxation. They seem to be inspired by such bands like: H.E.A.T., EUROPE, GIANT, FM, DANGER DANGER, WHITE LION, BON JOVI or TREAT. On this album is hearable the whole love for AOR and the '80. There is also a great feel of a youthful spirit in both the music and sound, highly recommendable.

Brothers Christopher and Felix Borg are the core force behind TASTE, the Swedish AOR band from Göteborg who released by themselves a lovely collection of AOR songs several years ago. Now the duo returns with the properly titled "We Are Back", a new work released today January 5th, 2018. And at 0dayrox we're delighted with it!Christopher and Felix Borg (both ex ART NATION) are skilled multi-instrumentalists, and Chris is as well experienced producing & mixing having worked with the likes of KEE MARCELLO, EVERGREY, etc. Oh, and they they have the knack to write some infectious songs.Their music is pure mid-80s AOR in all aspects, songwriting, style & sound. Think FM debut 'Indiscreet' with tons of keyboards and that commercial approach. It's fun, but when this type of music was in its apogee, they were merely kids.However, they know all the AOR tricks from A to Z. "We Are Back" is just a fantastic song ticking all right boxes to become a hit: a pumping bass foundation, heavenly midtempo verses and a catchy as hell chorus. Christoffer's vocals have the right balance between intense and melodious, with a timbre specially designed for the genre: hooky Melodic Rock / AOR.Take for granted that these guys have perfectly learned the lesson from the genre '80s masters. Just check numbers such as "Our Dreams" bringing back a soaring FM-like melody that seems composed in 1986. Fine lead vocals by Christoffer who also plays guitar in a very John Norum style, particularly with his mid-Eighties sound. Felix plays real drums, bass, guitar, keys and provide really good backing vocals."Cry for Love" has a midtempo pace in the SHY mould but much more melodious, followed by the melodic rock of "Don't Give Up", reminiscent of their contemporary countryman HOUSTON. "Stay" and "Danger Games" has the STRANGEWAYS (UK) sound imprinted all over, both among the most complete tracks on offer here, while "Fallen Angel" is the American tilted tune of the bunch, and a strong one.TASTE are also able to deliver ballads being "My Rose" quite EUROPE or TREAT influenced, and "The One" a bit more uptempo, melodious and consistent.Yes, they come from Sweden (not surprising eh?), and yes, bros. Borg / TASTE are the 'Scandinavian AOR' real deal."We Are Back" will be one of the best 2018 songs for sure, a terrific way to start the year, January 5th.

Album:

Taste was born on the day before New Year’s Eve 2009, when the two brothers Christoffer and Felix Borg decided to make music together. The vision was to make classic 80s AOR, greatly inspired by FM, Giant and Strangeways. Signing a deal with AOR Heaven, the self-titled album was released in January 2013. The album received a lot of good reviews for their classic keyboard driven sound. After doing a few live performances, the brothers joined Art Nation. During this time, Christoffer started studying to become a music producer and they decided to leave Taste aside until there was enough time to do it properly. After a four year hiatus the brothers finally found the time to work together again. With a brand-new single, "We Are Back", released on their own, they signed a new deal with AOR Heaven and in August 2018 they’ll release their highly anticipated second album, "Moral Decay", which was recorded and mixed at Top Floor Studios inGothenburg by Christoffer Borg (Anthrax, Amaranthe, Danko Jones). The album was mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica).
