MOTHER ROAD is the brainchild of Austin, TX (USA) based rock singer Keith Slack and Berlin (Germany) based guitarist Chris Lyne.Named after “The Mother Road”, another name for the US’ legendary, historic Route 66 highway, this international Hard Blues Rock band is impressively transferring the vintage sounds and the trademarks of this genre into the new decade. Founded in 2011 and based on mutual musical influences, Slack & Lyne promptly felt the chemistry between them was right and the song-writing process soon accelerated. In the meantime, the line-up was completed with drummer Zacky Tsoukas, keyboard player Alessandro Del Vecchio and bassist Frank Binke.Currently, the song-writing process is almost finished and the first batch of songs are about to be shopped to the labels.Guitarist Chris Lyne is well known for his astonishing work with his previous group Soul Doctor. His main influences include some of the greatest British guitar players such as Gary Moore, Jimmy Page, Paul Kossoff and John Sykes. American singer Keith Slack acted as frontman of the bands Steelhouse Lane and Michael Schenker Group (MSG), and also his own blues-influenced Hard Rock band Mudpie. Slack’s influences include a whole variety of styles and music from bands including Paul Rodgers, Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, King’s X and The Cult.We will keep you updated about the progress of this exciting new band on this site. Now this is a record after my own heart: after more than six years MOTHER ROAD are back with their second album “II“.Consisting of the two former Soul Doctor musicians Chris Lyne (guitar) and drummer Zacky Tsoukas, US bass player Barry Sparks (who has been a very busy boy with also appearances on the latest Durbin and MSG albums) and singer extraordinaire Keith Slack (Steelhouse Lane, MSG), Mother Road released in 2014 their debut ‘Drive’ for our melodic rock listening pleasure.2021 and Lyne & Slack have found the inspiration and time for a second Mother Road album that just breathes the 70s/80s sound of British greats like Bad Company and Free meeting their US counterparts Cry Of Love and Stone Machine. A blistering cocktail of bluesy based hard rock.
