The band was formed in 2000 with the name of Fiaba & Friends, changed into Thunder Axe in 2001.They have been basically split-up for some time in second half of 2000s, with members working on parallel projects.The "Thunder Axe" were born by the will of Massimo Cantù (vocals), who enlists in 2000 his colleague and friend Ivo Sangalli (drums) and guitarist Steve Zambelli. The family grew up in 2001 with bassist Stefano Marelli, to be completed in 2004 with the arrival of guitarist Dario Pasinetti.The band is highly motivated and prolific: from here in a short time a large amount of songs are composed, which leads the "Thunders" to a long experience of concerts in the province (Keller, La Sfinge, Dundee Pub, Rock House Caffè, Incubo, etc.) and more.2005 saw them in the recording studio for the debut demo "Wild Metal", an album for which 5 of the first songs written were chosen; despite a decidedly limited budget, "Wild Metal" was positively reviewed by industry critics, giving the band great satisfaction and a further push forward.The “Thunder Axe” refine an incisive and sanguine songwriting, which they propose with always energetic and engaging performances; at this point they get a recording contract that will soon see them engaged in the launch of the debut album, but due to production the project will never see the light. The blow is hard and the 5 have to face tensions that will lead them to break.This is how parallel projects are born that still see some members on the same stage. 2009 is a year of great significance for the band: the will and the need to reunite again under the name "Thunder Axe" is now latent in all members. But dramatic news also comes suddenly: the former frontman "Max" has died prematurely.The will to react is even more intense and the "Thunder Axe" at the beginning of 2010 returned to light by treading the stage of the "LiveKeller" with the excellent Gianmarino Gandolfi at the microphone. The band has also been enriched by the dynamic bassist Federico Fili and is currently engaged in the composition of new songs.In 2013 Grinding the steel comes out the new album with the voice Renato Forza "the Joker".In 2013 Federico fili the bassist leaves the band and is replaced by Riccardo Capuano.In 2013 Dario Pasinetti guitarist leaves the band.In 2016 Renato leaves the band. But in the meantime a new guitarist Andrea Lilliu arrives and later also the singer Francesco Bergami.The new line-up begins composing and preparing songs for a new album.In 2019 Ivo Sangalli leaves the Band.In 2020 Ivo Sangalli is replaced by Ramon Rossin.

The Italian heavy metal group Thunder Ax will publish their second album, this Roads of Thunder that we present here, on February 15 (2021) through the Underground Symphony label.
