Although wearing inspiration and paying homage to their predecessors like Aerosmith and Guns N' Roses, the “Big Guns” of Scandinavia such as members from The 69 Eyes, Amorphis, Lordi and Sonic Syndicate have all described them as being one of the most entertaining bands they have seen in the underground music scene, bringing a fresh breeze to the table in terms of both music and live performance.Shiraz Lane's debut two track online single "Out There Somewhere" and "Money Talks" was released in October 2014, which generated interest and enthusiam in the national music market, including radio airings and music video promotion on Radio Rock's website. As their prize for winning Hard Rock Rising 2014 in Helsinki, the band performed a show at the Hard Rock Cafe Toronto, Canada, on 13.11.2014. Following them was a video crew documenting the whole journey and adventures they forge along the way.The band is presently pre-producing their upcoming EP, which is scheduled to be released in late Spring 2015.

I had never heard a single song from Shiraz Lane before so when the opening track “Mental Slavery” started, I was hit with full force just like I had received a punch to my face twenty four years earlier from the classic Slave To The Grind album. I was instantly banging my head and very excited for the rest of the EP.“Behind The 8-Ball” follows and carries some of the energy while also diving into some blues rock territory. Then “Money Talks” takes things back to heavy with great riffs and fine vocals reminiscent of the best in the genre. After comes the most melodic track here — “Out There Somewhere” — which includes an infectious chorus that is perfect to sing along to. And finally, the track that gives this EP its title — “Story to Tell” — is a mid-tempo song whose great lyrics embody the mindset and spirit of the rock and roll philosophy.Nostalgia no doubt plays a large part in Be the Slave Or Be the Change, considering that clear influences can be heard from bands like Guns N’ Roses, Warrant and most prominently Skid Row. But the important thing about Shiraz Lane is that they do not rely solely upon revisiting music from that past era to succeed given that with these five songs, they manage to show many musical sides by changing things up and doing different compositions and arrangements on each song.The members of Shiraz Lane have the energy and the talent, and here they deliver a very good EP that works perfectly both as an introduction to new listeners and to show the world what they’re all about. If this is what they can do by themselves, I can only look forward to the absolute best with Frontiers Records backing them up.

Although wearing inspiration from big masters like Aerosmith, SKID ROW and Guns N' Roses on their sleeves, the band has a sound and style all their own. Members of some of the biggest bands in Scandinavia - The 69 Eyes, Amorphis, Children Of Bodom, Lordi and Sonic Syndicate among others - have all described Shiraz Lane as being one of the most entertaining bands they have ever seen in the underground music scene, bringing something new to the table in terms of both music and live performance! Notwithstanding their young age (the band members are all in their 20's), the guys are already veterans of the underground circuit in their homeland and have developed a reputation for being uncompromising, loud and genuine.'We started working on our debut album in mid-August 2015 after receiving confirmation about details and deadlines from Frontiers Music Srl' says guitarist Miki Kalske. 'We were actually extremely busy at the time since we did an extensive Finnish tour in September, so the Shiraz factory was working pretty much around the clock. In retrospect it was good to have a tight agenda, since the songs came out very naturally and with a steady pace. After we felt confident enough with the songs, we joined forces with our producer Ben Varon and analyzed them meticulously, re-arranged parts, rehearsed, re-rehearsed etc. Before hitting the studio to lay down the final tracks.'On the final result, 'For Crying Out Loud', the band shows they have learned all the tricks in the book and they're now ready to take on the world.'The album is not conceptual, but it is definitely a tight knitted package so that every song has its own natural place in the running order' continues Kalske. 'All in all the record turned out to be an ass-kicking Hard Rock gem with a large scope of different emotions and feelings included. Variety would be a good key word to describe the album throughout, although bowing down to our own sound and style. An important notion would be to listen to the lyrics and message we are trying to send to the listeners out there ' we don't wan't to preach, but if our music can act as an eye-opener on some level and send positive vibrations out to the world during these darker times, I would say we have done something right!'Shiraz Lane debuted with a two song single release, "Out There Somewhere" and "Money Talks" in October 2014. The band expanded upon those two tracks to release a five track EP, "Be The Slave Or Be The Change" in the spring of 2015. It was extremely well received by both the public and the press in Scandinavia and the single ''Mental Slavery'' could even be described as an underground hit. Following the EP release, the band has put out four music videos, played the biggest Finnish summer festivals and also performed in places like Toronto, Canada, Finland Fest in Tokyo Japan and Wacken Open Air in Germany. In the autumn of 2015, Shiraz Lane did an extensive national tour supporting fellow countrymen Santa Cruz. Finland based melodic hard rockers SHIRAZ LANE are releasing today their new EP “VIBRATION I“.After the successful of their sophomore album ‘Carnival Days’ in 2018, Shiraz Lane is back for more. A second part, “Vibration II”, will be released later this 2020.While according to the guys, “Vibration II” is supposed to be a little bit more artsy and experimental, “Vibration I” is following the same path as their sophomore album, with five tracks high on energy, groove and melodies.If you have followed Shiraz Lane‘s career, by now you should know that most of their tracks are feel-good, uptempo melodic / hard tunes with some retro feel, but also adding interesting twist like jazzy arrangements, blues elements, and a lot of oomph incorporated in the music.The opening track of this new 2020 EP, “Keep it Alive,” is a great example of this sound, and kicks off the album with a great groove, clean vocals and a great solo.Next there’s the previously released as single in Scandinavia, “Do You“, a hit in local classic rock radio an I can see why; this is an uplifting, midtempo AORish melodius track that again has a catchy chorus you just have to sing along with.Think H.E.A.T meets Brother Firetribe.If you like a little bit of funkier guitars and a slower groove, “Revolution” is definitely your cup of tea. It’s a very well arranged track, and rocks.“You Will Remain,” is perhaps the poppiest song of the album, and will certainly attract a new kind of audience to the band. The song is a bit more emotive than the other tracks, and this also shows how versatile vocalist Hannes Kett is.The last track on the “Vibration I” is a cover of SAVAGE GARDEN‘s classic “To the Moon and Back”, a song that I personally put among my favorites from 90s rock&pop. SHIRAZ LANE definitely made the song their own, by adding their own spices to the mix. A welcomed addition to four great original songs and truly feels like their own composition.The five songs on “Vibration I,” will definitely put you in a good mood after listening to them. They’re all high on energy, catchy and a lot of fun. SHIRAZ LANE‘s compositions have matured even more, and offer often a groovy listening experience to which you certainly want to move.We already can’t wait for “Vibration II”

The hype culminated with a worldwide record deal with Frontiers Music Srl, which was signed and sealed in September 2015.Although music is not a matter of competition, it might be suitable to list winning the Hard Rock Rising 2014 and Wacken Metal Battle 2015 competitions as past merits. Their debut album “For Crying Out Loud” was released worldwide in April 2016, and was a success story from the beginning, achieving 6/7 stars in Metal Hammer Germany and a lot of praise by the biggest Finnish music magazine Soundi.The young rockers spent the following summer playing festivals and packed their gear for a two months long European tour with Lordi in the Fall of 2016, before heading to their first headliner tour in February 2017 in Spain. Shiraz Lane stayed extremely busy throughout the year 2017 composing, producing and recording their second album in collaboration with the Swedish producer Per Aldeheim.The first single ”Harder To Breathe” was released on October 11th 2017, accompanied by a music video. “HTB” turned out to be the first bullseye on radio with a playlist spot and hundreds of prime-time airings on Finland’s biggest rock radio, Radio Rock. Straight after the release Shiraz Lane continued to yet another extensive European conquest opening for Brother Firetribe. Homecoming party manifested itself as joining the almighty Deep Purple in sold out Helsinki Ice Hall only days later.The 2nd full length album, ’Carnival Days’’ was released in February 2018 and music videos for ‘’People Like Us’’ and ‘’The Crown’’ were released. Shiraz Lane continued on to play countless shows in Europe and Finland throughout 2018. In November of 2018, Shiraz Lane joined forces H.E.A.T for a month-long European adventure.2019 started off with another new ground covered as the band was featured on national television. YLE’s “Mullan Alta” challenged the tour-marinated bunch to dig into works of poet Uuno Kailas (1901-1933) and turn his writings into a song. “Paljain Jaloin” was premiered in the hour-long episode and was – still is, Shiraz Lane’s only time performing in Finnish.More shows and writing were the natural continuum and that writing turned into “Vibration I” EP. During the process, in June 2019, Shiraz Lane announced changing their record label to Ranka Kustannus which is operated by the legendary Riku Pääkkönen (the man behind the uprising of bands such as Nightwish and Children Of Bodom). The first Ranka-release was the sexy groove in “Do You”, followed by more arena rock singalong in “Revolution”. The new material was received well and loud in Brazil, when Shiraz Lane did their first (headline) shows in South America.The year of 2019 and a beloved venue, Nosturi (Helsinki) were wished goodbye simultaneously while ending a Finnish tour there. “To the Moon & Back” was just released and started to gain momentum* (* – scientific study – observed by the amount of shaking booty you can see from the stage). The loan from the Australian pop duo Savage Garden went to radio and spiked the band’s streaming numbers.2020 was received with great joy under the Caribbean sun, playing Monsters of Rock Cruise (Miami-Mexico). “Vibration I” was released and celebrated with Shiraz Lane’s first headlining European tour. The two weeks with no days off ended at Paunchy Cats, Germany on March 7th, 2020. The fun was put on hold by Covid-19 right after. Shows in Finland and abroad were getting canceled and the world was confused, team Shiraz included. Doing nothing was not the answer and so a studio was booked. “Broken Into Pieces” was recorded with Joonas Parkkonen and released as a standalone single in September 2020.With no end in sight for the pandemic, the band saw the time in hand as an opportunity to seize. “Vibration II” – a follow-up EP in plans got discarded and decision to do a full-length album was born.The album soon-to-be-named was recorded in countryside idyll of Lammaskallion Audio, Tuusula, fall of 2021. After the countless hours at rehearsal place and likely as much on the road – it was a natural thing to approach this one live. The whole band at once, just like at Shiraz HQ or and stage. Raw, organic and honest is what producer Juho Salaterä captured during the month-long lock-in.Late 2021, “Fake Perfection” was the first song released and introduced the crowd to Shiraz Lane’s less polished, traditional hard rock kind of drivey sound.

Finnish rockers Shiraz Lane consisting of lead vocalist Hannes Kett, lead guitarist Jani Laine, rhythm guitarist Miki Kalske, bassist Joel Alex and drummer Ana Willman will be releasing their third full-length studio album Forgotten Shades of Life on August 12, 2022.“Forgotten Shades Of Life” will be released on 12 August 2022 via Ranka Kustannus. So far, two singles have been released from “Forgotten Shades Of Life”: “Scream” and “Disconnect From The Matrix“. Surprisingly, “Fake Perfection” – which was originally released as the first single of the album – did not make it on the album. Shiraz Lane explain this as follows: “After all the songs were finished, we couldn’t find a natural spot for Fake Perfection. Left it out instead of leaving something else out. Quite unusual move to pull off but now you’ll have more unreleased stuff. It’s still out there for everyone to listen and it still kicks ass.”

The hype culminated with a worldwide record deal with Frontiers Music Srl, which was signed and sealed in September 2015.Although music is not a matter of competition, it might be suitable to list winning the Hard Rock Rising 2014 and Wacken Metal Battle 2015 competitions as past merits. Their debut album “For Crying Out Loud” was released worldwide in April 2016, and was a success story from the beginning, achieving 6/7 stars in Metal Hammer Germany and a lot of praise by the biggest Finnish music magazine Soundi.The young rockers spent the following summer playing festivals and packed their gear for a two months long European tour with Lordi in the Fall of 2016, before heading to their first headliner tour in February 2017 in Spain. Shiraz Lane stayed extremely busy throughout the year 2017 composing, producing and recording their second album in collaboration with the Swedish producer Per Aldeheim.The first single ”Harder To Breathe” was released on October 11th 2017, accompanied by a music video. “HTB” turned out to be the first bullseye on radio with a playlist spot and hundreds of prime-time airings on Finland’s biggest rock radio, Radio Rock. Straight after the release Shiraz Lane continued to yet another extensive European conquest opening for Brother Firetribe. Homecoming party manifested itself as joining the almighty Deep Purple in sold out Helsinki Ice Hall only days later.The 2nd full length album, ’Carnival Days’’ was released in February 2018 and music videos for ‘’People Like Us’’ and ‘’The Crown’’ were released. Shiraz Lane continued on to play countless shows in Europe and Finland throughout 2018. In November of 2018, Shiraz Lane joined forces H.E.A.T for a month-long European adventure.2019 started off with another new ground covered as the band was featured on national television. YLE’s “Mullan Alta” challenged the tour-marinated bunch to dig into works of poet Uuno Kailas (1901-1933) and turn his writings into a song. “Paljain Jaloin” was premiered in the hour-long episode and was – still is, Shiraz Lane’s only time performing in Finnish.More shows and writing were the natural continuum and that writing turned into “Vibration I” EP. During the process, in June 2019, Shiraz Lane announced changing their record label to Ranka Kustannus which is operated by the legendary Riku Pääkkönen (the man behind the uprising of bands such as Nightwish and Children Of Bodom). The first Ranka-release was the sexy groove in “Do You”, followed by more arena rock singalong in “Revolution”. The new material was received well and loud in Brazil, when Shiraz Lane did their first (headline) shows in South America.The year of 2019 and a beloved venue, Nosturi (Helsinki) were wished goodbye simultaneously while ending a Finnish tour there. “To the Moon & Back” was just released and started to gain momentum* (* – scientific study – observed by the amount of shaking booty you can see from the stage). The loan from the Australian pop duo Savage Garden went to radio and spiked the band’s streaming numbers.2020 was received with great joy under the Caribbean sun, playing Monsters of Rock Cruise (Miami-Mexico). “Vibration I” was released and celebrated with Shiraz Lane’s first headlining European tour. The two weeks with no days off ended at Paunchy Cats, Germany on March 7th, 2020. The fun was put on hold by Covid-19 right after. Shows in Finland and abroad were getting canceled and the world was confused, team Shiraz included. Doing nothing was not the answer and so a studio was booked. “Broken Into Pieces” was recorded with Joonas Parkkonen and released as a standalone single in September 2020.With no end in sight for the pandemic, the band saw the time in hand as an opportunity to seize. “Vibration II” – a follow-up EP in plans got discarded and decision to do a full-length album was born.The album soon-to-be-named was recorded in countryside idyll of Lammaskallion Audio, Tuusula, fall of 2021. After the countless hours at rehearsal place and likely as much on the road – it was a natural thing to approach this one live. The whole band at once, just like at Shiraz HQ or and stage. Raw, organic and honest is what producer Juho Salaterä captured during the month-long lock-in.Late 2021, “Fake Perfection” was the first song released and introduced the crowd to Shiraz Lane’s less polished, traditional hard rock kind of drivey sound.

Finnish melodic hard rockers SHIRAZ LANE are dropping something special today: the “Acoustic Archives” EP, available on CD in limited copies. They’re taking some of their best, fan favorite tunes and giving them a chill, stripped-down vibe. Live-recorded into the studio, acoustic style.However these aren’t just plain recordings: all songs are performed very dynamic, upbeat, and there’s a very good mix with stereo guitars and capitalizing the band’s superb multi-part vocal harmonies.While the group is working on a new full album, “Acoustic Archives” is a chance to hear SHIRAZ LANE in a whole new way. Remember when these acoustic things were once a big deal on MTV? The versions here are really good, not just ‘unplug & play’ – there’s a lot of work in the way the songs are arranged for the acoustic format and as said, a clever production / mixing.

The story of Shiraz Lane began in 2011 (Vantaa, Finland) as a group of five had an ambition to form a new generation Rock band, through which it could channel its raging creativity and passion for music. After a couple of years of soul searching, the band started to blossom and reach its anticipated potential when the current desirable line-up was solidified in 2014.Shiraz Lane wreaks of creative variety, which resonates through their double-edged guitar sound (produced by lead guitarist Jani Laine and rhythm guitarist Miki Kalske), groovy-yet-solid ground-pounding (Ana Vilkkumaa, drums & Joel Alex, bass) and the unmistakably high-soaring melodies chanted by lead singer Hannes Kett.Despite their relative youth, they are already veterans of the circuit in their homeland and have developed a reputation for being uncompromising, loud, and most of all the genuine article. Although wearing inspiration and paying homage to their predecessors like Aerosmith and Guns N’ Roses, their sound and music has developed into its own thing during the years.Shiraz Lane’s debut five track EP “Be The Slave Or Be The Change” was released in the spring of 2015. It was extremely well received by both public and the press and the single ”Mental Slavery” could even be described as an underground hit. Following this mini-record the band released four EP supporting music videos, toured the biggest national summer festivals and played in Toronto (Canada), Tokyo (Japan) & Wacken Open Air in Germany. In the autumn of 2015 Shiraz Lane embarked on an extensive national tour, playing the biggest club venues in Finland as a supporting act.
