Blizzen was launched in January 2014 in Weilburg from all four band members, this was the type of music (Heavy Metal) from the outset and had not only found. Right at the beginning brought Blizzen out a 3 song demo, which provided in the underground already a talking point! In September 2014, it recorded their first EP. Shortly afterwards, the scene Label "High Roller Records" was attentive and made with them once a record deal. In April 2015 appeared in "High Roller Records" their EP "Time Machine".
Album:
Rising from the small German burg of Weilmünster, Blizzen has been traversing the European metal underground since 2014. But with the release of an EP, Time Machine, in 2016 and their debut LP, Genesis Reversed, the following year, the band has not gone unnoticed. They've played European metal festivals such as Harder Than Steel and Metal Assault, gaining fans along the way. With a six year solid lineup, Blizzen returns with their second studio album, World In Chains.Blizzen arrives as a new band for this heavy metal fan, perhaps for the reader as well. Simply, Blizzen plays old school, traditional heavy metal, driven by twin guitars and ramped up with some speed metal. Most every song is a horse race from the start with riffs and drums building the gallop and groove, then leading to a guitar solo. Racing metal numbers come with Forged With Evil, Serial Killer, Forsaken Soul, and Paradise Awaits. If there is some more steady metal as with World In Chains, give the song some time and it will eventually stomp the speed pedal. Only the song Lust breaks the mold with a more steady pace, notable in the bass and drum groove. Rising above the metal, bassist and vocalist Daniel Steckenmesser generally sings clean and melodic, but can go screamo at times. More often he's pummeled by the speed and heaviness, leaving his voice muted. Nevertheless, for classic and traditional heavy speed metal, Blizzen's World In Chains hits the mark, and should please even the most discerning headbanger.
