Traditional heavy metal band from St Petersburg formed in 2014.The New Wave Of Russian Heavy Metal.Traditional heavy metal in the style of Enforcer, Skull Fist or Steelwing.The band is greatly influenced by the early Judas Priest and that is what they aim for. They try to show us that you can still play like Judas Priest on British Steel or Screaming for Vengeance.The vocalist called Paul sounds just like young Rob Halford.Maybe he lacks the technique, but it fits with what the band plays. The strength of this band lies in the guitarists who manage to create riffs and solos in the style of Judas Priest.The first full-length album "Prisoner of Time" was released in 2015 and second "Smell Of Perdition" in 2020.

The NWORHM (New Wave Of Russian Heavy Metal) movement is increasingly active and Iron Drivers are one of the names responsible for this. Prisoner Of Time was the first album, released in 2015 and, five years later, the year 2020 is marked with a bittersweet flavor in the history of the St. Petersburg band. Smell Of Perdition, the second album, saw the light of day at the beginning of the year (only in digital format, the physical being more recent), but in May the collective saw its bassist Iron Serj (Sergei Baranov) leave. With the mourning installed, the band reacted, in the sense of showing as much as possible all the work developed in the creation of Smell Of Perdition. And this is an album clearly aimed at the countless Iron Maiden fans of the time Paul Di’Anno. Smell Of Perdition is a short record, as it should, based on good harmonies, interesting drum dynamics and superb solos. If we add these characteristics to an attitude of irreverence, which can well be called an attitude to throw at punk, we get the idea of what these Russians have to present us in a disc that has an instrumental and a theme sung in their language natal, despite having an English title (Eagle Of Steel), which had already appeared on his first album. The retro and dirty production helps, even more, to situate this album in the early 80's. This is a wave of revivalism that has been accentuated and thankfully, we say, being that the Iron Driver, for their compositions, also deserve due mention.
