Melodic Hard Rock band from Joliet, Illinois formed in 1982 by John Davidson and Dave Lepacik for a talent show at Troy Jr. High School in Shorewood Illinois, Brinx eventually became a well known Midwestern regional band headquartered in the suburbs of Chicago. Winning several local competitions and televised cable contests, Brinx went on to record many singles and a full length album completed in 1989. The release entitled "Rain on the City" is recognized as a collectors item in the AOR (Album Oriented Rock) format releases of the 1980's and has been distributed globally finding fans in many countries. The Brinx members had not yet reached the age of 21 by the time of the Rain On The City release and went on to perform in several popular bands including Chicago's Nikki Foxx & Arizona's 500 Hats.

Rare U.S. AOR/Melodic Hard Rock originally released in 1989.Brinx formed in 1982.The band played extensively in clubs in their region and released only one album during their existence. It is titled Rain In The City.The exact year of its release remains a mystery to this day, as some sources say 1986 while others mention 1989.The main thing, however, is the content of Rain In The City. Musically, it leans towards AOR, with strong roots in the mid-80s.If you like big hooks,great lead & harmony vocals and massive keys, then you should go for this one,Brinx has it all!Every song is great!If you like bands like "Outland", "Skagarack","Defcon"...this should be in your collection. "Hearts On Fire" is the albums highlight with massive keys and a very good refrain.Not alot to add from above on this one. An enjoyable release for sure with some great songs especially 'Hearts On Fire'. Very pleasant AOR album with smooth keyboards that give the songs this particular and unique feel...lovely voice,quiet and relaxed but edgy where needed..."Hearts On Fire" (a highlight song just right after the intro),"Heard It All Before" (a very good song this one),"Alone"(nice)...the best ones are the last 4 ones (at least 4 me),"Don't Fear The Night","Action On The Run","Rain On The City" & "Never The Lonely One"...a good choice to pick!.Don't know if these were only demo's or what, as Soundwise they're not the best thing I have ever heard (although not the worst either it has to be said). If you like your typical 80's MR/AOR and don't mind a less than perfect production job, then this is recommended.
