Big Mouth is an AOR / Hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, USA, that was formed in 1993. Not to be confused with another hair metal band Big Mouth from New York.Actually the band rather was a project, that was put together to record one album, than a real band.Big Mouth takes centre stage with album Hands Of Time released in 1997, it was the only album by this US band to be distributed by Swedish record label Zoo Money Records.The guys weren't exactly unknown, but they were close. Keyboardist Phil Christian released an excellent solo album in 1988, No Prisoner, which I highly recommend.

Big Mouth is a precious 1990s AOR band from California.The band should be distinguished from another 1980s New York-based hair metal band Big Mouth.The band had only one album "Hands Of Time" released in 1997, very decent, soothing and tuneful but underrated and less-known. Big Mouth featured Larry Leon on lead vocals, Phil Cristian on keyboards, Dan Voss on drums and production, all of whom were the songwriters of this album.This album "Hands Of Time" stands out among my mid to late 1990s aor collections. But I am sure that one song was recorded in the 1980s, that is a ballad "Million Miles Away". This song was sung by keyboardist Phil Cristian, originally included in his 1988 solo album "No Prisoner". Both Big Mouth's one-off album and Phil Cristian's solo album were produced by Dan Voss, who is not only a talented drummer and songwriter.Today I recommend a vibrant gem "Valerie". If anyone is fond of 1990s pure aor releases like Frontier's second album and Agent's second album which were released during the same period of time, "Hands Of Time" by Big Mouth is a desirable choice.Sweeping melodic hard rock which brings to mind the best moments of the melodic rock genre. This is so obvious when you listen to the opening pair of tracks; 'Where Were You', and 'Show Me The Way' where the choruses are just so memorable.Tracks "Borderline" and "Valerie" are gems. All in all, a solid melodic rock effort from what appears to be a band project. Hopefully they will get together and release something again in future.
