Bio:
Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen.Their style of music is similar to their compatriots Destruction, Sodom and Tankard, the other three big German thrash metal bands. All three bands, except Tankard, are often credited with helping pioneer death metal and black metal by containing several elements of what was to become the genre. They originally performed a speed metal style with Venom influences.Kreator's work began in the vein of thrash metal but ventured into Industrial metal and Gothic metal from 1992 to 1999, before eventually returning to their classic thrash sound to date.Kreator has released thirteen studio albums, two EPs, one live album and three compilation albums. The band released its debut album Endless Pain in 1985. Although many of their previous albums, including Pleasure to Kill (1986), were quite popular in the United States, Kreator did not experience major American commercial success until the 2009 release of their twelfth studio album, Hordes of Chaos, which peaked at number 165 on the Billboard 200 and debuted at No. 16 on the Media Control Charts.Hordes of Chaos was followed three years later by Phantom Antichrist, which was also successful and peaked at higher chart positions in many countries. Kreator has been working on a new album, which is due for release in 2016.
Album:
Pleasure to Kill is the second studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released in April 1986 by Noise Records. The lyrical themes follow those found on their first album Endless Pain. Many death metal bands cite this album as an influence.Pleasure to Kill is widely considered a thrash classic. It is also considered a landmark album in the history of thrash metal along with Master of Puppets by Metallica, Peace Sells...but Who's Buying? by Megadeth, Reign in Blood by Slayer, Eternal Devastation by Destruction and Darkness Descends by Dark Angel, all released in 1986.All tracks have been digitally remastered.Metal band Kreator had been around for awhile before they released Pleasure to Kill in 1986. Many in the underground metal scene were already paying special attention to the German outfit's proto-death sound, but the cult status was shed after this critically and commercially successful sophomore effort hit record-store shelves. As fierce and unyielding as the group's debut, Endless Pain, was, Pleasure to Kill provides double the sonic carnage and superior material. Standout tracks include the syncopated "Riot of Violence" and the sprawling closer "Awakening of the Gods." Pleasure to Kill might not be the best recording from Kreator, but in many ways, it could be the most significant. Fans of the group simply must own this seminal European metal offering.

Kreator has been working on a new album, which is due for release in 2016.
Album:
Dying Alive is a two-disc live album by German thrash metal band Kreator. Released in 2013 by Nuclear Blast, it contains 24 tracks recorded at Turbinehalle in Oberhausen. It was also released as a deluxe edition containing the two-CD set and a DVD.Throughout the years I have been fortunate to attend two KREATOR gigs, one in Wacken Open Air 2005 and in Israel in 2006. Watching this German giant play live was practically one of my life’s greatest moments, experiencing a legend in act, a legacy coming alive right before my eyes. Sheer Thrash aggression, pulsating melodic edge, head bashing and intense rhythmic arsenal, the KREATOR machine seemed to be battle ready at every occasion given. This time it was different, due to this particular gig, which occurred in 22.12.2012 (post-apocalyptic prophecy of destruction), Oberhausen, Germany, I wasn’t able to attended, and I am sure that most of you Metalheads out there wished that you could. But there is punch to all of this. KREATOR summed up 45 gigs as support for their fiery and successful maniacal new album, “Phantom Antichrist”, with the filming of the Oberhausen showcase into a brand new live DVD that was entitled “Dying Alive”, via the band’s constant local label, Nuclear Blast Records. Through the course of ninety minutes of Teutonic Thrash mayhem, filmed by widespread 24 cameras right up to the people’s guts, I felt as if I was there, with the fanatic Oberhausen fans, breaking bones and hailing to the throne of the Teutonic Thrash kings. It felt like the third time around.Since it is my first official DVD review, I will try not to bore you with that much of technical terms, as I am not that of an expert myself. The first I noticed was the start menu of the DVD. With back tracks of the band’s songs with accordance to every section, along with amazing themed graphics out of the DVD’s main artwork, yet it seemed quite normal for the initial presentation. Enclosed within the menu is the full Oberhausen gig, consisting of 20 live tracks of KREATOR’s finest heritage with a hefty support for “Phantom Antichrist”, a section where you can select titled out of the full main gig, bonus video clips including the behind the scenes of the DVD and the “Phantom Antichrist” video and the two official videos of “Phantom Antichrist” and “Civilization Collapse” and of course there is the technical section of the “Settings” where you can set your sound system and sorts. Rather simple and to the point menu, easy to navigate and of course with the availably to listen to fragments of tunes. On throughout the Oberhausen gig, I noticed how amazing the footage superiority is. It footage style, which appeared moderately similar to the one displayed on the “Phantom Antichrist” video clip, seemed like a sort of vintage film yet with a heck of an HD quality. The 24 cameras involved covered everything, from the overall venue, through the inner pits of the stage (including the guitar cams that were simply overwhelming) up close to faces of the maniacal fans clashing in the battered moshpits and onslaught circlepits along with the first rows of those standing. The twists and turns of the cams were able to provide me the feel of the gig and how fortunate for the attendees to be there at the time. Sound wise, I anticipated nothing more than flawless engineering of the best quality, and I warmly received it. The engineering exertion on the recording seemed nearly perfect, everything was listenable and distinguishable and of course focusing on KREATOR’s latest sound template that has been so forceful and cutthroat. Furthermore, while tuning to the gig’s song list, you can activate the subtitles in order to memorize the lyrics of the tracks, quite handy I might add.Lastly, and for some reason it seemed quite in the far back of this review, this gig itself, without the technical clattering. KREATOR set a hefty piece of a setlist, letting their local fans immerse themselves with blood, sweat and tears over their new album’s tracks, mid era trackers alongside the older classics like “Endless Pain”, “Pleasure To Kill”, “People Of The Lie”, “Betrayer”, “Extreme Aggressions” and “Flag Of Hate / Tormentor”. “Dying Alive” is a destructive fest, nothing more, nothing less. KREATOR, with their social / political oriented lyricism and immense Thrash perception, revealed themselves as the kings of the hill, the true message of Metal’s glory and “Dying Alive”, KREATOR’s third DVD in number, is one hell of chunky proof that the oiled machine is strong as it can ever be, tall and on the edge of madness. Buy it now or you will miss a relic.

The legendary debut from 1985: "Endless pain" is a diamond in the raw and classic moment in terms of thrash metal! The reissue on black 180g gatefold vinyl has been remastered and features six bonus tracks taken from the demos "Blitzkrieg" (1983) and "End of the world" (1984) plus overhauled artwork and new liner notes!Endless Pain was released in October 1985 by Noise Records. It was a savage debut; its crude thrashing quickly had the underground metal world abuzz with excitement. This album has been known to be viewed as a pivotal album to black metal bands that enjoy thrash metal elements, ultimately creating a thrash-influenced black metal sound. This version also contains the bands original demos when they were still known as Tormentor, one fittingly named Blitzkrieg (1983), and the other End of the World (1984). These fell into the hands of thousands of heavy metal fans engaging in the era's bustling underground tape-trading network. Positive word of mouth soon attracted the attention of Germany's own metal start-up, Noise Records, which signed the newly re-christened Kreator to a deal. This album presented in CD/LP format contain re-mastered versions by Andy Pearce and overseen by Mille Petrozza. New art has been created packed with rare photos and memorabilia and notes by Mille and Malcolm Dome (Metal Hammer) talking about the creation of the albums.

Re: Kreator (GER)
Kreator - Terrible Certainty (1987) + Out Of The Dark...Into The Light (EP) (1988) (Noise Records Remastered Edition 2017)
Year : 1987 (Noise Records Remastered Edition 2017)
Style : Thrash Metal
Country : Germany
Audio : 320 kbps + all scans + Video
Size : 450 mb
Album:
Third KREATOR album "Terrible certainty" (1987) proudly displays matured songwriting skills. The reissue in shape of a remastered double disc set features eight bonus tracks culled from the 1992 version of the "Out of the dark... into the light" EP and overhauled artwork!1987's Terrible Certainty did nothing to dent the perception that Kreator were one of the genre's best bands, and for once, Petrozza had a little time to work out the songs beforehand. Kreator beefed up to a quartet once again with the addition of guitarist Jörge Trebziatowski. This version also contains the Out of the Dark... Into the Light EP which was originally released in 1988 and re-released in 1992. The live tracks were recorded at Dynamo Club, Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 1988 and at Werner Seelenbinder-Halle in East-Berlin, East-Germany in 1990.

Album:
One thing about there being no "Headbangers Ball" or "Uranium" these days, KREATOR, or any metal band, doesn't have video censorship standards hanging over it. If you haven't seen the explicit promotional clip for the title track from KREATOR's 14th studio album, "Gods Of Violence", you're in for it. Stocked with massive nudity and a gory birth sequence capped by a slimy orgy in blood — you know even the blackest of black metal bands are shouting: "Damn!" after watching this one.Mille Petrozza and Jürgen "Ventor" Reil continue their rambunctious march through what's become more than merely a thrash revival, and the continued presence of Christian "Speesy" Giesler and Sami Yli-Sirnio mark KREATOR's most stable lineup. It's been five years since the "Phantom Antichrist" album, and the band has released 2013's "Dying Alive" concert package and last year's "Noise Years" compilation in-between. Thus, "Gods Of Violence" comes as if the group has something to prove, to itself, not so much its audience. Like the video, you're in for it on this album, so leave your receptors open to some relatively drastic musical redirection. For all the fast-flying chaos sparking behind "Gods Of Violence", that late 1990s desire to elevate the musicality of KREATOR's music comes a-creeping once more. In this case, it gives "Gods Of Violence"'s undeniable brutality a harmonious conscience. Most of the time, it works. Sometimes, you'll subconsciously start scratching your chin in wonder. Whether you consider Satan's role in this album — or any of KREATOR's albums, for that matter — figurative or literal, "Gods Of Violence" summons every slippery, titillating and horrific image stuffed inside the video. It's the stuff of unsettling boner provocation, yet it's also allegorical. Keep in mind the Teutonic thrash band has always taken a hard stance against governmental eradication. "Satan Is Real", as Mille screams on track three, and he's referring to political corruption as much as he is invoking evil incarnate. The dogmatic bitch-slapping Mille huffs upon immoral global leaders throughout the fast-pounding "World War Now" isn't so much the track's story as the melodic imploring throughout the song's breakdown and bridge. Here is where the songwriting becomes improbably ornate with a soft, Victorian waft of reed instruments that tease briefly as a suggestive swan song. This before Mille and Sami Yli-Sirnio rip an incredible guitar solo on the way through to a thrash-bombed finale. "Satan Is Real" takes its time to stock up its heaviest measures in the waning seconds, dropping a contemporary metalcore methodology for most of its 4:40 running time. The cinematic overture at the end is like a metalhead's score for "Blood On Satan's Claw", but something feels slightly off by the whole endeavor, more than made up for with the blazing, though harmonious, "Totalitarian Terror".Without the gore and nudity splashing before your eyes, it's easier to soak up the title track as a grand musical epic, since all of what KREATOR shoves before your eyes is highly distracting. Seriously, it gets to the point that you're hitting the pause button far too much in the interest of spotting a bald eagle or two amidst the boobie parade. The acoustic opening to "Gods Of Violence" is savory, and the grinding velocity is nearly as cool as the dropped-down mosh tempos that keep this song on a full pump. If you're fiddling with yourself while watching the video, you'll agree the tempo was tailor-made."Army Of Storms" may or may not give KREATOR fans reason to fret. By and large, it's a thrashing monster as Mille continues his accusatory tirade against tyranny. However, the melodic touches are so opposite of the mayhem surrounding them, they should come with a caveat. The reach for musicality at this point in KREATOR's music is appreciable, and at least it's hardly the blunt re-routing of "Renewal". On this album, classic power metal is KREATOR's mojo. They must've sat in on the latest RUNNING WILD recording sessions and jotted down some notes from their renowned countrymen; the strident anthem "Hail To The Hordes" could've easily been the latter's cut. Then there's the chiming kaleidoscope tolling behind Mille's snaky rasps on the intro to "Lion With Eagle Wings", a cut that does jet off to give their Gryffin muse full flight. In an apparent nod to the NWOBHM, KREATOR plugs innumerous trad power metal grooves into "Lion With Eagle Wings". The blasting thrash behind a reserved guitar solo is appropriately majestic. If you're digging these power metal plows, then enjoy "Fallen Brother", which has barely enough evil to make it a KREATOR cut. It's one of the most straightforward, rock-driven tracks this band's ever dealt, and if this wasn't one of the most professional metal acts on the planet, it would've been a disaster. Instead, "Fallen Brother" rocks as much as it stands out from everything KREATOR's released since 2005's "Enemy Of God". "Side By Side" once more frolics in this uncapped power metal playground; it's not as effective, but pretty gnarly. Thus, here is where we find KREATOR in 2017: the group is hitting upon a certain level of expectation from their fans where the group's music must match up to the rowdy speed of "Extreme Aggression", "Betrayer" and "Tormentor" or more recently, "Enemy Of God" and "From Blood Into Fire". This has apparently given Mille Petrozza and company reason to balk just a smidge. We shouldn't worry that the noticeable changeups to "Gods Of Violence" is veering us back to "Endorama" turf — not at this time, anyway. That jaw-dropping video seems like an insurance policy meant to blindside thrash purists and leave them ripe for what KREATOR wanted to do on this album, which is to not bore itself silly playing 120 fan-appeasing miles per hour on each song.

Kreator has been working on a new album, which is due for release in 2016.
Album:
''Live Antichrist'' is a free live album by German thrash metal quartet Kreator. It consists of ten unreleased live tracks recorded during different shows in the past few years. The album was released with an issue of the German Metal Hammer magazine. The different tracks have a solid production that sounds raw and unpolished but also manages to showcase the band's great musicianship. Especially Sami Yli-Sirniö's guitar leads and solos really stand out in concert. Rhythm guitars and drums also sound powerful enough to convince. On the other side, the vocals are sometimes out of breath and rhythm and sound a little bit too dominant in the mix. The bass guitar could have been a little bit more present on the other hand but I have heard worse. The track list is quite interesting as it features new tracks from the more melodic Phantom Antichrist as well as the brutal Enemy of God records, forgotten pearls from the band's experimental years with albums such as Renewal and Outcast and one classic track from the early release Pleasure to Kill. To my surprise, the harsher tracks are less convincing as they all sound quite similar and are mostly fast-paced and one-dimensional. The vocals often can't follow the fast instrumentation which makes these songs sound even more chaotic than usually. The more melodic tunes from the experimental years have some more punch in concert and offer very interesting listening experiences that will please both to the band's more traditional fans that might rediscover these tracks and those who liked the band's shift in style during the nineties. The tracks from the last studio record blend in very well and offer a welcome mixture between melodic heavy metal influences and rhythmic thrash metal parts.Despite having a great track list that gives potential new fans a very good idea of Kreator's discography, the order of the different tunes isn't very well chosen in my opinion. The record kicks off without any introduction in form of the chaotic ''Enemy of God'' which might be the worst track on here. In the middle of the album, we suddenly get to hear the instrumental ''Mars Mantra'' followed by the vivid ''Phantom Antichrist''. These two songs should have kicked this release off instead of ''Enemy of God''. Closing the record with ''Civilisation Collapse'' is also quite weird as a vivid and fast-paced thrash metal track like ''Pleasure to Kill'' or ''Suicide Terrorist'' would have been more suitable to end this release with a violent bang.Due to the fact that these tracks are taken from different live shows, the ten tracks don't really build up a coherent and fluid atmosphere. In fact, communications with the live crowds in some songs are done in German while others are suddenly in English which makes the listening experience oddly confusing. Some tracks also have fade-outs instead of offering organic transitions to the next songs. While Kreator has released much better live albums, ''Live Antichrist'' is good for what it is as free gift of a metal magazine. It's not essential to own this record for occasional listeners or faithful fans who already own live albums such as ''Dying Alive'', ''Terror Prevails'' or the limited edition of ''Gods of Violence'' that includes the band's entire 2014 Wacken performance. This record is only interesting for new fans who want to discover Kreator's different soundscapes in live form for free as well as for avid collectors who would buy anything this band releases.

Album:
Legendary metal band Kreator re-releases its four albums Coma Of Souls, Renewal, Cause For Conflict and Outcast on February 23, 2018. The 90s classics of Europe's most influential and successful thrash metal band appear with tons of bonus material on Deluxe CD, color vinyl and digital.Already the new edition of the 1980s albums by Kreator in June 2017 caused great joy for metal fans worldwide. For a long time the genre classics were partly out of print. The lovingly and elaborately designed new editions of the old albums came just right. But quickly there were calls to reissue the four classic albums of the 1990s era. Coma Of Souls (1990), Renewal (1992), Cause For Conflict (1995) and Outcast (1997) now appear remastered on February 23 with plenty of bonus material and liner notes from band head Mille Petrozza.Formed in Essen, Germany in 1982, Kreator are arguably the most influential and successful European thrash metal band ever, like many of their European speed metal brethren, Kreator fused Metallica's thrash innovations with Venom's proto-black metal imagery. Often referred to as one of the "Big 4" of Teutonic thrash metal, and they are often credited with helping pioneer death metal and black metal by containing several elements of what was to become those genres. The band has achieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them one of the best-selling German thrash metal bands of all time. The band’s style has changed several times over the years, from a Venom-inspired speed metal sound, later moving in to thrash metal, and including a period of transitioning from thrash to industrial metal and gothic metal throughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Kreator returned to their classic thrash sound, which has continued to the present.Kreator’s seventh album, Cause For Conflict was originally released in July 1995, musically the band took a different path to the one that hard marked out its predecessor ‘Renewal’. While certainly not abandoning the experimental nuances which had been so crucial to the previous album. However, there was something of a return to familiar territory this time around. Both the songs ‘Lost’ and ‘Isolation’ came out as singles and the passage of time has given Cause for Conflict a sense of belonging, because there’s little doubt it remains one of the bands most undervalued records.

Album:
As the 21st century was born, so Kreator underwent what was nothing less than a seismic creative rebirth. By this time, the iconic German band had released nine studio albums in the 1980s and ’90s, which had established them as one of the most important metal names of these decades. In the first period, they had helped to shape and pioneer the thrash scene through such releases as Pleasure To Kill (1986), Terrible Certainty (’87) and Extreme Aggression (’89). During the following decade, the band had opened up exciting horizons of experimentation on albums like Coma Of Souls (1990), Renewal (’92) and Endorama (’99).Violent Revolution is without question an excellent album. While in some ways it does hark back to the glories of the band’s earlier days, nonetheless it does not sound at all nostalgic. The performances and production values are very much part of the contemporary era, and the strength of the compositions themselves are of the highest values. Rising to the challenge offered by a new generation of ambitious metal bands, Kreator proved they were far from being a spent force. Unlike so many of their peers, here was a band who still had so much creativity to offer, and were also clearly excited themselves by what they were doing. And when you hear the band themselves enjoying the entire process, then you know this is a bona fide revitalisation.

Kreator has been working on a new album, which is due for release in 2016.
Album:
Germany's enduring thrash metal machine KREATOR has been back in the saddle writing top notch, timeless thrash with its last couple of releases, 2017's "Gods of Violence" and 2012's "Phantom Antichrist", reflecting both the genre's roots and an updated approach. "Gods of Violence", in particular, is one of the band's best releases in the last 20 years. Now, closing the longest gap between studio albums in its career, KREATOR return with "Hate Über Allies", a more potent expression of what they've been doing the last decade, but one that also highlights the band's inevitable growth and maturity."Hate Über Allies" is also the German band's first album to feature bassist Frédéric Leclercq, ex-DRAGONFORCE, who replaced Christian "Speesy" Giesler in 2019. Giesler had been KREATOR's longest standing bassist, having served the band for a quarter century. The injection of new blood may have lent itself toward KREATOR mainman Mille Petrozza's intent to create a more aggressive album. Look no further than the title track for proof. "Hate Über Allies" might not be as vitriolic or memorable as the band's crowning jewel, "Pleasure to Kill", nor should anyone expect for it to be, but it is the best that one could imagine and hope for in a pummeling release from the Teutonic thrashers this deep into their career."Hate Über Allies" finds KREATOR continuing to spread their wings and take chances, and as they've aged, they've learned to do so comfortably and within reason. The intro for "Hate Über Allies", for instance, is "Sergio Corbucci Is Dead", a tasteful tip of the hat to the famed spaghetti western producer on a track that's centered around the style's characteristic guitar work. An even bolder move surfaces later in the album with "Midnight Sun", a track that follows KREATOR's most accessible side and showcases the soothing melodic vocals of German indie pop artist Sofia Portanet, employed ironically during the song's most aggressive metal sounding portions.KREATOR's most desired quality is blistering thrash metal mayhem. "Hate Über Allies" is front loaded with KREATOR's thrashier side on the aforementioned title track as well as "Killer Of Jesus", and later on songs like "Demonic Future" and "Pride Comes Before The Fall". "Strongest Of The Strong"'s mid-tempo bashing and "Dying Planet" also stand out due to the songs' hook-laden nature and their undeniable classic metal energy. An 11-song album can't be expected to be without fat, and with "Hate Über Allies", "Become Immortal" proves to be the ugly stepchild.KREATOR is still important for a reason. While the legendary band could essentially cash-in with rehashed, unimaginative throwbacks, they instead continue to seek new creative heights. "Hate Über Allies" is a slab of solid thrash metal that finds the metal juggernaut steamrolling forward. KREATOR sound as confident and strong as ever, and, thankfully, it doesn't seem likely that they'll be calling it a day any time soon.

Kreator has been working on a new album, which is due for release in 2016.
Album:
Fifteen years ago, the thrash metal legends Kreator, led by leadsinger Mille Petrozza, created a remarkable work: "Hordes Of Chaos". From the beginning of its creation, the album was distinguished by two unique features. Firstly, the band chose Moses Schneider as the new producer, and secondly, the album was recorded completely live in the studio. This approach gave it an authenticity and energy that are rarely found in today's music landscape.Even though "Hordes Of Chaos" is not necessarily considered the best album in Kreator's discography, it nevertheless combines everything that defines the band: fast, hard riffs, technical finesse, precise drumming, and Petrozza's distinctive vocals. The themes range from war and destruction to political and social criticism. They express not only anger and frustration but also encourage reflection on the state of our world. Two central pieces of the album, "Hordes of Chaos (A Necrologue for the Elite)" and "Warcurse", particularly stand out. "Hordes of Chaos" captures the essence of the album with an impressive mix of raw energy, complex guitar riffs, and captivating melodies. "Warcurse", on the other hand, impresses with its speed and aggressiveness, combined with catchy melodies that leave a lasting memory.A Limited Anniversary Edition for Collectors: To celebrate this anniversary, Kreator is re-releasing "Hordes of Chaos" along with its predecessor "Enemy Of Gods" in a collector's edition limited to 1,000 pieces. The vinyl box includes the two albums on CD and colored splatter vinyl, a demon mask, and two thematically matching comics. This special edition is a must not only for collectors but also for fans who appreciate the legacy of Kreator and the significance of "Hordes of Chaos" in particular. With this re-release, the band not only honors a key work in their history but also offers both new and old fans the chance to experience a piece of metal history anew.
