Bio:

It all began in 2004 in Podkowa Leśna, when Kaplic created few compositions - very ambitious and original, yet still placed in power metal genre. Soon he invited few of his friends - Draken, Martinez and Tommy to join his band. That's how Sentinel was born. Unfortunately, the band was only composing and first rehersal happened in 2007.The band was looking for a long time for a singer with character - they failed to do it, so rehersals have been suspended. But guys promised themselves that they won't give up and as soon as the opportunity comes they will get back to playing. A big turn happened in 2009 - in November Kaplic met Kosa and they formed a new band, to which they invited all former members of Sentinel. They needed only a good singer. After few rehersals Kosa invited Dzidek from Morhana to come and sing along. The band was named Lux Perpetua after a long discussion, guys created the logo and website, and the whole band was working on compositions day by day. On May 19th 2010, the group debuted in front of bigger audience in warsaw Harenda club, presenting 6 compositions. After few gigs, Dzidek left the band and Lux Perpetua was again looking for a singer.Later, Jagór joined the band, but after few gigs and 6 months of cooperation - guys needed to look for a singer again. In the meantime, Draken decided to leave. Another year passed; the band was testing few singers, but they never played any gig with them. But - that was a great time of hard work (thank you, Wiktor & Zbyszek!). In 2012 guys decided to abandon keyboards and put Martinez to the microphone. Currently he performs great - among all gigs he played, he performed very well in front of Turbo & Wilczy Pająk.After the show with Wolf Spider Kosa left the band. Mateusz took his place - currently Lux Perpetua is recording new material and preparing to enter the stage, permanently. Then, after few smaller and bigger gigs, band decided to finally release their first EP including few of their songs (but, not including best ones like The Legend, An Old Bard, or Werewolf!). There are plans to release the first album in 2015.

Album:

Underground Symphony is proud to announce a deal with Lux Perpetua for the release of the full lenght “The Curse Of The Iron King”.The Polish band, founded in 2009, plays a power metal with symphonic arrangements and folk influecences. The album is mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Almanac, Rhapsody Of Fire) at Greenman Studios and it’s a masterpiece for fans of Blind Guardian, Gammaray and Manowar.“The Curse Of The Iron King” will be available on the 28th February under Underground Symphony Records in deluxe digipak edition. Here’s the full tracklist and Artwork, realized by Magda Tararuj.Remember when power metal was fun? When the European masters played upbeat, up-tempo tracks with reckless abandon and not a care in the world with cheese glazed on top? Lux Perpetua perpetuates those good ol’ days on their debut The Curse Of The Iron King. The Polish troupe best resembles Rhapsody, but without going too over-the-top. Artur Rosiński has an easy voice to enjoy. He carries the notes and his slight accent adds a charm to the music. I think of him as a Polish version of Joacim Cans, but with his voice at a lower register. I like the different elements these guys utilize; in some instances I’m reminded of Sonata Arctica (the melody in “An Old Bard”, the piano parts in “Desert Of Destiny”) Rhapsody (“Riders Of The Dead”), and the beautiful, folksy ballad “Eversong” reminds us why we love Blind Guardian’s “A Bard Song”. Forget mid-tempo stompers, Lux Perpetua likes to keep proceedings moving at fast place with blazing, neoclassical solos, flying rhythms and quick-hitting, memorable choruses. It’s hard not to get infected by “Army Of Salvation”. You just get the urge to pump your fist and shout out the chorus. The Curse Of The Iron King is an early contender for power metal album of the year. If you’re into Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, and the rest of the heavy tier guys, you will not be disappointed by The Curse Of The Iron King. This is fun, majestic power metal and highly recommended.
