Bio:

The Silent Wedding is a heavy metal band, formed in 2006. In 2008 the band released their first self-titled EP including 4 of their songs and a live cover of the song “Sleeping in the Fire” of WASP. The reviewers described The Silent Wedding as a "Heavy Metal band with Prog & Power influences".Two years later, their new song “General Autopsy” was included in the compilation of Rock Hard Magazine “Greek Power Vol.1”. Soon after, the band started working on its debut album which was completed in May 2012. The album “Livin Experiments” was recorded and mixed at Underground Music Studios (GR) and mastered at Gate Studios (De) by Michael “Miro” Rodenberg (Kamelot, Edguy, Rhapsody etc.). For the album's artwork the band worked with Travis Smith (Nevermore, Iced Earth, Opeth etc). The Silent Wedding signed a record deal with FYB Records (Belgium) and released their debut album “Livin Experimens” on April 6th 2013. Meanwhile the band keeps promoting its work through live shows around Greece & Europe in metal festivals, sharing the stage with bands like Saxon, Fates Warning, Firewind, Tygers of Pan Tang, Maiden United, Caravan, Lizzy Borden and many more. In the same year Jimmy (Guitars) and Johnny (Keyboards) joined the band of Eve's Apple (featuring vocalists of Delain, Tristania, Sirenia and many more) for a headlining show at Metal Female Voices Festival in October 2013. The Silent Wedding supported Maiden United in two mini tours in the Netherlands & Belgium, joined Voodoo Six in their European mini tour in 2014 and supported Threshold in their “European Journey” Tour for 19 shows around Europe. In early 2015 the band entered the studio and started working on their new album…

Album:

Greek bashers The Silent Wedding are gearing up for the release of their new album, Enigma Eternal, on March 10th by FYB Records. A new video for the track "Silence" is streaming below. The cover artwork for Enigma Eternal was created by Travis Smith. The Silent Wedding is a Greek five-pointed formation that brings us a mix of heavy, power and progressive metal. The band has been active since 2006 and released a first self-titled epic in 2008, including a cover of W.A.S.P.'s Sleeping in the Fire. A first full length came through the FYB label in 2013 and received the title Livin 'Experiments. It's on the same label that on 11 March the new album Enigma Eternal appears. We checked out the record for you all the time. The Silent Wedding is a band that does her business well. In her career, the group has been on track several times with beautiful bands like Firewind, Fates Warning and Maiden United to name just a few. And that will be just because of its own music, because it is good. The Silent Wedding presents us twelve titles, all of which float on a particular class. Perhaps they will not be for everyone because the music for certain people may be too varied. For example, the real powermetalfan might find this too proggy, and the true progfan in the reverse direction, for example, might think. But the undersigned is familiar with all the genres, and can live very well here. Under the direction of singer Marios Karanostasis, the band also has a good vocalist in the ranks and lets it be heard immediately from the first real song (after an intro) on the album: Shadows and Dust. This is actually a great listening tip for those who want to explore the rest of the album. Strong vocals based on handsome riffs, entertaining keyboards and a solid rhythm section. Also, the pace of change often changes without ever getting into the highest gear. Often it's mid-tempo, but in the area of ballads the band can be a bit of it. Listen to the wonderful Loneliness for this: undoubtedly my favorite track on this album. Actually, The Silent Wedding has made a record of metal tracks to listen to, rather than go headbanging and doing wildlife. It may sound strange, but this is so typical a plate that you will listen to with a deeper feeling. The varied Closer to the End will only reinforce that feeling. Enigma Eternal is also an album that has no lesser songs. The level remains high enough to keep out the 50 minutes without major problems. Fans of 'well-groomed' and well-sung heavy / power metal with a lot of progressive elements, should be looked after here. This is definitely one of the better albums in the (sub) genre that has already appeared this year. Just check it out via the known channels.
