Bio:

Band founded in January 2013.Fully convinced that wearing a brown corset and a top hat is not enough to play retro-futuristic music, Poison Garden aims at releasing Steampunk from the framework of role-playing games and comics fairs in order to introduce it in the everyday life of the rising century: a "street" Steampunk, a Neo Steampunk.Poison Garden’s project is willing to demonstrate that the outfit of this subculture is not a mere whim to photograph but the expression of a tangible sense of belonging, capable to switch from social networks to real life.Poison Garden’s music can be defined as follows:"What a gramophone would have played if rock was born two centuries ago; a modern and aggressive sound sunk in the noise of an alternative past . "It’s a mix of the latest trends in Modern Rock/Metal (down-tuned guitars, powerful distortions, use of Screaming vocal technique by the singer/bassist Madame Anais Noir) with melodic orchestrations of classic instruments, arranged with an eye to the late 19th century compositions, chosen not by chance as a reference.Poison Garden’s Steampunk breathes, in fact, the sooty air of the 19th century where the embryo of "light music" started to develop in many places of entertainment (eg . Café Chantant in France, Music Halls in England ) where it started to abandon a selected and aristocratic audience in order to become a public phenomenon.Everything is enhanced by soundscapes (like puffs of steam trains or vinyl’s scratch) that auditorily recreate specific settings and that lead the listener to think that the songs are actually played on an old gramophone in a city of an alternative past .Poison Garden bring on stage the Victorian parlor of the Maison Noir or the house, with all the furnishings, where the guitarist Sir. Damian White lives with his wife, the singer/bassist Madame Anais Noir .The couple share the space with the mad scientist/guitarist Professor Ψ and with The Pilot, the drummer. These are not fictional characters but simply Alteregos that come to life on stage; they live in that alternative 19th century that Poison Garden translate into music. In fact, Anais and Damian are married in real life, Raffaele aka Prof. Ψ is a biologist and Matteo aka The Pilot is a real pilot of small aircrafts .During the show, the band manages to give equal space to all the members and dedicates to each of them a single "scene" linked to the song they're about to perform: as Sir. Damian White will prepare an Absinthe so Prof. Ψ will conduct his experiments and Madame Anais Noir will write her letters about love. All is made more realistic by the use of appropriate soundscapes capable, during the performance, to lead the audience's emotions to the retro-futuristic environments evoked.Poison Garden can rely on the collaboration of skilled professionals in the entertainment industry in order to arrange, upon demand, Special Shows that combine the dimension of live music with theater, dance and acrobatic arts .The concert becomes the crucial moment of a wider show that includes a pre-show and a post-show handled by actors and acrobats capable to engage the audience in the plot.Poison Garden cooperates with a cast made up of professional actors, acrobats, dancers, directors, makeup artists, video makers and costume, set and graphic designers.
