Kairos is a heavy metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. Delivering heavy and fast guitars, catchy drumlines and deep bass-sound along with high pitched vocals, Kairos achieved great succes in Gothenburgs underground metal scene.They formed in 2009 with the name Furious. At the time they consisted of, Tom Hamström ( Lead guitar, Vocals), Erik Andersson (Drums), Malusi Sjögren (Rhythm guitar) and Alexander Aronsson (Bass). Aronssons time in Furious was very brief, he departed from the band later the same year.In the year 2010, Kairos hired a new bassist who would depart from the band a year later due to personal complications in the band.Early in 2012 Furious released their first full-length album in digital form titled ” Left Behind”.After a year of touring and promoting their new material, guitarist Malusi Sjögren suggested that the name “Kairos” would be a better name. His band mates agreed and shortly there after they changed their name to “Kairos.In 2012 guitarist and vocalist, Tom Hamström, decided to focus more on his singing and therefore stop playing guitar live. They announced that they needed a new guitarist and contacted Carl Rudhede to audition for them. Shortly after he was offered to join them as a full time member. By that time Hamström, Sjögren and Andersson had already completed 2 songs planned for their first EP under their new name.In March 2013 Kairos released their first EP entitled “ Life on the Edge” with four songs entitled “Life on the Edge”, “ Teenagers”, “ One man Army” and the fan favorite “Fatal Race”. The current lineup during that time was Hamström, Sjögren, Andersson and Rudhede. Due to the lack of bassist during this time, singer/songwriter Tom Hamström recorded the bass on this album.About a month after the release of their EP, Kairos played several shows in Gothenburg, including a show on Arena 29 where the light technician and bass player Ludvig Nyqvist approached them about an audition for him to join the band. He was asked to join the band a couple of weeks later.
