Axel Rudi Pell (born 27 June 1960) is a German heavy metal guitar player and his eponymous band. He started off with the band Steeler (1984–88) before leaving to start his solo career in 1989. During this time, he has played with such drummers as Jörg Michael and Mike Terrana, and singers Jeff Scott Soto and Rob Rock.Axel Rudi Pell's latest album is Into the Storm. It was released on 17 January 2014 in Germany.SPV Records released a live DVD on 25 February 2008, titled Live over Europe, which includes the full performance from the Rock Hard Festival in 2007, and comes with a bonus disc which includes live footage from Pell's own archive.

Album:

Axel Rudi Pell already comes around with his sixteenth studio record entitled “Into The Storm”. Despite the band’s regular high quality releases, the group around the guitarist from Wattenscheid where even local legends like the punk band Die Kassierer haven’t heard about him for many years has always remained an underground act. The group still has close ties to the European heavy and power metal scenes of the late eighties and a few American hard rock ballads of the same time. Sometimes the band seems to be stuck in the past. Another reason why this band never got the credit it deserved is maybe due to the fact that the old guitar player of Steeler fame gave his project a rather odd name which is simply his own. Another point could be the fact that the band never really revolutionized the genre or tried out any experiments. You really know what to expect when you pick up an Axel Rudi Pell record which can be seen as a charismatic strength but also as a repetitive weakness. Last but not least, the somewhat cheesy lyrics are also a considerable issue. One still hears worn-out high school rhymes like “fire” and “desire” or “pain” and “rain” on this album. Oh boy!The band’s lack of success is surely not due to its musical song writing qualities and sound. The German band delivers once again a balanced mixture of gracious nostalgia and fresh power on this record. The mid-tempo songs have an epic touch and are carried by melodic but gripping riffs. The new rhythm section is more than just solid as well. The keyboards add some more epic atmosphere to the tracks without taking too much space. Almost all songs have extremely catchy hooks carried by the powerful and charismatic vocals by Johnny Gioeli who is definitely one of the genre’s most underrated singers. While some songs obviously sound quite alike on here, this album includes no stinker and has a constant high quality. Highlights include the heavy but atmospheric heavy metal anthem “Tower Of Lies” which is a well chosen opener. Another outstanding piece of music is the diversified “Touching Heaven” that starts as a keyboard driven half ballad before a much darker tone categorizes this epic somewhere between Iron Maiden, Rainbow and Scorpions. The powerful and bass guitar driven mid-up-tempo banger “High Above” is also quite solid. Last but not least, the somewhat lengthy but nevertheless addicting closer “Into The Storm” that includes some keyboard driven folk elements and an atmospheric closure is another track that stays on your mind after the first few spins. Let's add that even the Neil Young cover "Hey Hey My My" is performed with passion and convinces as an orchestrated hard rock ballad with goosebump vocals. In times where comparable German bands such as Axxis, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear and Sinner are releasing somewhat lackluster records, Axel Rudin Pell still incarnates the power other power metal bands seem to have lost. Fans of Dio, Jorn, Lizzy Borden and even Whitesnake will also feel at home when they are listening to this release. The veterans are really attacking the genre thrown this year. They don’t do it with a big bang but prove their honest consistency that their colleagues have lost over the last years. That's why I'm so particularly impressed with this release. Sometimes, the simplest ingredients make the best dishes. Fans of all aforementioned bands should check this album out as it’s never too late to discover Axel Rudi Pell.

Album:

"Magic Moments - 25th Anniversary Special Show" - the anniversary concert out in April - It was a hot summer night and the beach was burning Wrong song, wrong place! But the weather gods smiled on Axel Rudi Pell on that memorable magic evening of July 11th 2014: There had been a severe weather alert, but in the end the floodgates of heaven opened only during the last song of his regular set, the Rainbow classic “Long Live Rock´n´Roll“. “That was Ronnie James Dio crying from above,” promoter Horst E. Franz speculated while bidding his farewells to the almost 15.000 drenched- but-happy fans at the festival site.Three hours before the sun went down, creating a beautiful atmosphere at the ´Bang Your Head´ festival in Balingen/Germany, where Axel Rudi Pell celebrated his 25th anniversary as a solo artist with a once-in-a-life-time performance. The CDs and DVDs document a show that is unlikely to ever be seen again in this constellation - a special present the protagonist had worked hard for. It took almost a year to set everything up: “The actual organisation started in the summer of 2014 when the promoter and I went public with the idea of this event,” Axel tells with obvious relief. He´s still happy about how things have turned out. With a little help from his friends at his booking agency, the Bochum guitarist set up an extraordinary line-up. “It was mostly all about personal contacts”, because after more than 30 years in the business Axel Rudi Pell is not only well-known, but also well-respected in the worldwide rock community, so the affix “& Friends“ is not one of those usual exaggerations. Almost all of his favoured candidates agreed on this one July date.As Axel is an early bird, the whole organisation was fairly easy. Of course there were rehearsals, but only one day before the show. Over fifty minutes worth of footage from those remarkable sessions are featured on the DVD and Blu-ray versions of this package. During those sessions Axel realized that something unique was happening. “Everybody involved had a blast and was right on track,” he remembers. Unfortunately, Doogie White had a prior engagement with Michael Schenker on that rehearsal day, but was replaced with ARP frontman Johnny Gioeli. And except for Charlie Huhn, who had already agreed to play a gig in the USA with his current band Foghat, Axel´s former singers turned out in full force: Rob Rock (1991) and Jeff Scott Soto (1991-1997) together with long-time ARP drummer Joerg Michael (until 1998) took the stage by storm after a historical four-song Steeler reunion at the beginning of the show.Axel´s current line-up put on a best-of show with a blisteringly atmospheric version of the Neil Young classic “Hey Hey My My“ and a few epic ARP classics like “Mystica“, “The Masquerade Ball“, “Casbah“ and “Into The Storm“. You could feel those goose bumps spring up, and the climax was still to come: after a furioso battle between drum gods Vinny Appice and Bobby Rondinelli, a long list of rock legends took the Balingen stage: stepping in for Joe Lynn Turner, who was tied up with business affairs, Pretty Maids frontman Ronnie Atkins performed a superb version of Deep Purple´s “Black Night“, including audience sing along. Then John Lawton, the former voice of Uriah Heep, demonstrated why he still deserves a lot of “Sympathy“ (Uriah Heep), and he was still looking for some “Tush“ (ZZ Top). When ex-Rainbow keyboard player Tony Carey joined in for an emotional “Mistreated“, the now available Doogie White and Johnny Gioeli set the roof on fire. Graham Bonnet, another Rainbow veteran from the glorious “Down To Earth“ era, remembered the good old times with “Since You Been Gone“ and, of course, the aforementioned “Long Live Rock´n´Roll“. At the end of those three hours plus all guests (and friends!) gathered on stage for the grand finale “Smoke On The Water“. A legendary evening drew to a spectacular close. Are you happy, Axel? “Of course! I could have played at least for another hour.” Did anything go wrong? Notthing, but there was no way we could have prevented those long change-overs in between.“ But at least the weather gods smiled.

During this time, he has played with such drummers as Jörg Michael and Mike Terrana, and singers Jeff Scott Soto and Rob Rock.Axel Rudi Pell's latest album is Into the Storm. Album:

German guitar hero Axel Rudi Pell will release his sixteenth studio album, "Game Of Sins" on January 15, 2016 (January 22 in the U.S.) through SPV/Steamhammer.When Axel Rudi Pell celebrated his first 25 years as a solo artist with a three-hour-plus show in Balingen, Germany on July 11, 2014, he not only awed the 15,000 fans in front of the stage. Released on April 24, 2015, the live recording of this once-in-a-lifetime concert, dubbed "Magic Moments", went straight to No. 1 in the German and Swedish DVD charts, #4 in Switzerland, #7 in Austria, and #17 in the Netherlands. Anybody expecting Axel to rest on his laurels after that spectacular feat doesn't know the man and his work ethic.Already collecting ideas in the summer of 2014, he ensconced himself in the studio again in fall 2015. "Everything went according to plan," he smiles. So nothing went wrong? Nothing new on the Axel Rudi Pell front? Again, the objective observer doesn't know Axel. Anyone assuming that he would invite his numerous festival guests on his next studio album for another anniversary celebration knows nothing about the man. Axel Rudi Pell can do it on his own. And he wants to do it on his own. "I never even thought of having guest musicians on this album," he explains. And why should he? Since Bobby Rondinelli (ex-RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT) joined the Axel Rudi Pell fold in 2013, the band sounds tighter than ever because "Bobby fits like a glove." Pell points out that Rondinelli is the perfect drummer who always knows exactly what to play; on "Game Of Sins" even more so than on the predecessor album "Into The Storm" (released in 2014, # 5 in Germany). So it comes as no surprise that Axel's 16th studio recording featuring original material is a definite winner. "Everybody involved agrees," he grins. "There's not a single filler on the album." Which apparently was not the case on some of his previous offerings, as he admits with a smirk. "Game Of Sins" is way harder, grittier, the songwriting even more accomplished, experience meeting excellence again.Especially sound-wise, Axel Rudi Pell appears to have made a quantum leap. "Looking back, I have to admit that the drums on the last album stayed too much in the background," a fact which has changed for the better: they sound much fuller and much more aggressive this time around and have been adapted to suit the new songs. Having said that, this album is a must-have not only for air drummers — riff fetishists and solo aficionados will also love Axel Rudi Pell's new material. And it's no secret that vocalist Johnny Gioeli counts among the best of his profession. All in all, "Game Of Sins" presents a band at the peak of its powers. Although the sleeve and the intro "Lenta Fortuna" (Latin for "bad luck") may suggest that this is a concept album about gambling — it is not. "Game Of Sins" is Axel Rudi Pell at his best: the sirens in the metallic opener "Fire" are a perfect wake-up call, "Sons In The Night" with its "Sons Of Anarchy"-inspired lyrics pays tribute to the NWOBHM. The title track is the longest number on the album, nine minutes of those epic structures and Arabian scales which Pell is so fond of. "Falling Star" once again refers to the early '80s.Is there an Axel Rudi Pell album without a ballad? They may well be one day, but as long as Axel writes beautiful specimen such as "Lost In Love", there's bound to be one. Among the recording's highlights features "The King Of Fools" with its his five minutes of pure emotion, a perfect symbiosis between steeliness and melody, with an unbelievable performance by Gioeli, but don't forget to listen to Axel's guitars on the verses! "Till The World Says Goodbye" again presents Pell in his element: an epic, almost dark and doomy ballad, a moving soundtrack for the Judgment Day. "Breaking The Rules" is another melodic rock song, before the regular album finishes with a slow number called "Forever Free". But the crowning glory is included in the digipak format: Axel Rudi Pell is the first musician to successfully deliver a real hard-rocking version of the almighty Bob Dylan/Jimi Hendrix classic "All Along The Watchtower"; which has been his heart's desire for a long time, as Axel explains. "That song is far from easy to arrange, but the result is definitely worth the effort." Or, to be more precise: "Everything went according to plan."

Album:

German guitar wizard Axel Rudi Pell will release his next offering, "The Ballads V", on April 21 via Steamhammer/SPV. In true Pell tradition, part five of his successful ballad compilation series features a smooth balance between the past six years and some brand-new songs. For the first time ever in his almost thirty-year career as a solo artist, Axel Rudi Pell welcomes a special guest star on one of his albums: rock legend Bonnie Tyler has recorded a stunning duet with Axel's longtime singer Johnny Gioeli. Axel Rudi Pell is justly proud of his new single, "Love's Holding On" (street date: March 31), saying: "Bonnie Tyler only records songs she personally likes. So I wrote this tune just for her and she really loved it. She came to the studio and we recorded it within a couple of hours. The result is amazing — another soon-to-be Pell classic in the making. If I hadn't been a fan already, I would have turned into one instantly."Apart from another brand-new track called "On The Edge Of Our Time", Pell has again risen to new challenges with his rocking version of the Ed Sheeran hit "I See Fire" (known from the motion picture blockbuster "The Hobbit"), which is an interesting take on one the best ballads in recent years. It shows that even hard rockers like Pell can have a sensitive side, and quite successfully at that. The other seven tracks on "The Ballads V" (among them a new take on Neil Young's "Hey Hey My My", a live version of the DEEP PURPLE classic "Mistreated" and a previously unreleased live recording of his own fine ballad "The Line"), present Axel Rudi Pell at his best.Pell has established himself as an outstanding rock star, having sold up to 1.5 million records worldwide. Since leaving the influential German metal outfit STEELER in 1989, he's been out there on his own, recording and touring with some of the finest vocalists from the world of rock music: Charlie Huhn (TED NUGENT, GARY MOORE, VICTORY, HUMBLE PIE, FOGHAT), Rob Rock (IMPELLITERI, DRIVER, JOSHUA, AVANTASIA), Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, SOUL SIRKUS, TALISMAN, JOURNEY, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and last but not least the mighty Johnny Gioeli, who has been working with Axel since 1997 (having been in HARDLINE before that, a project started by JOURNEY guitar legend Neal Schon in 1991)."The Ballads V" will be released as a CD digipack (including a poster), double gatefold purple vinyl, limited boxset (including a CD digipack, powerbank, CD slim case single, sticker, photocard — Europe only), download and stream.

Bio:

Album:

The prolific German axe-meister Axel Rudi Pell is back with another slab of committed power/melodic metal. Like clockwork, he releases an album of new material every two years. ‘Knights Call’ is Pell’s seventeenth release since leaving Steeler in 1989.The collection doesn’t mess with the tried and trusted formula of earlier work. That will be a relief for his Continental fans who buy the music in truck loads and flock to gigs. Though less avidly followed in the UK, 2016’s ‘Game of Sins’ did briefly dent the rock and metal charts. This is a decent enough follow up.Opener ‘The Medieval Overture (Intro)’ sets a portentous tone before two of the album’s stronger tracks kick in. ‘The Wild and the Young’ and ‘Wildest Dreams’ both feed off driving riffs and melodic choruses. The latter is underpinned by some well-placed Hammond flourishes. Later on, ‘Follow The Sun’ is a fine romp.‘Truth and Lies’ is an enjoyable mid-paced showcase of Pell’s dextrous and inventive guitar playing. The track also features some jaunty keyboard breaks from Ferdy Doernberg and a few compelling bass runs courtesy of Ferdy Doernberg. As is typical of Pell’s material, the epic tracks come thick and fast. The semi-acoustic ballad, ‘Beyond The Light’ is probably the best of them. Great solo.‘The Crusaders of Doom’ is well enough put together, with great work from Pell, if just a little laboured at eight-minutes plus. ‘Tower of Babylon’ is the album closer and clocks in at a whisker under 10 minutes. Again, the track is competent and carefully crafted with some lovely playing. But the thing is such a Stargazer meets Kashmir mash up as to be a hard listen. Almost too much of a tribute to be taken seriously.Johnny Gioeli handles the lead vocals throughout with a gravelly tone and plenty of power, not least on the aforementioned ‘Beyond The Light’. I’m trying hard to avoid the obvious comparisons, but there is something of Klaus Meine about the vocal arrangements. Though not in the content. The lyrics often return to medieval good versus evil territory. Enough castles and crusades and knights to have kept Ronnie James Dio in business, God rest his noble heart. The only real turkeys are the strained ‘Slaves on the Run’ and ‘Long Live Rock’ which is just too clichéd and ploddy to be a real anthem.Everything here is well played and beautifully produced with some fine moments in amongst some more ordinary, derivative fare. Overall it is a jolly outing and could well broaden Pell’s appeal on this outpost of Europe.

Album:

Hard to believe, but AXEL RUDI PELL‘s band is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Tomorrow they will be releasing “XXX Anniversary Live” to mark 30 years since the German guitarist released his first solo / band album. This album wasn’t really planned – while he was on tour in October / November 2018 his sound engineer recorded several shows without the band being aware. He then gave the recordings to Axel Rudi Pell at the end of the tour and from that the idea to release a live album was born. This does mean that the recordings are of the band doing what they do naturally – when the band know the show is being recorded for release that must make them think differently and maybe alter what they do as they think about the fact it’s being recorded. The band are all in great form and it shows in the recording.Vocalist Johnny Gioeli has been with Axel since 1998, and it’s obvious the musicians onstage as well as audiences at the shows appreciate his enthusiasm and delivery, be it material that he recorded for “The Wild and the Young” and “Long Live Rock” as well as older songs such as Black Moon Pyramid favorite “Fool Fool” and “Warrior”.You know going in that Axel will gain his share of bluesy, shredding lead break spotlights, but he’s also cognizant of sharing that musicianship attention with his bandmates – as drummer Bobby Rondinelli delivers a solo during “Mystica” and keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg showcases his finger dexterity and adventure sounds for the opening sequence to “Game of Sins / Tower of Babylon” extended 16-minute plus medley.Axel Rudi Pell already has some live albums out there, but “XXX Anniversary Live” is different. It’s much more raw and ‘direct’, with Gioeli’s vocals not overdubbed and the guitars bite. This seems to have been somewhat dealt with in the mix though, and helps lend some credibility to a modern day ‘Live’ release. The band, overall, sounds tight and pounding, but still organic.Great songs, great musicians: this baby Rocks.

Album:

With more than 1.7 million albums sold worldwide, 2.6 million streams in his previous work “Knights Call” (2018). Now AXEL RUDI PELL is about to release “Sign Of The Times”, his 18th studio album in 31 years. Once again Pell is accompanied by one of those soul-catching voices, that of Johnny Gioeli (HARDLINE) who indulges in a harsher record than he’s used to, and heck … sounds good. An example? Here is it: “When we played in Moscow last summer, many fans came up to me and called me” legend. “My response was: I’m just a guitarist” Another important fact on this album is the change in production direction because, for the first time in nine albums, he worked with someone other than his co-producer and engineer Charlie Bauerfeind , opting for the engineer of his live albums Tommy Geiger.“Sign Of The Times” is a great album and as AXEL RUDI PELL himself has recognized, it is partly due to the role of singer Johnny Gioeli and drummer Bobby Rondinelli: “First of all, Johnny has outdone himself during the recordings, this time he gave more than 100% of the usual. Because he’s been playing a lot lately , he’s been singing a lot live. Second, we’ve never had a better drum sound with Bobby in the band, thanks to his new Snare -Beauty Black Beauty- “.AXEL RUDI PELL “Sign Of The Times” song by song “Sing of The Times” has everything, starting from an evident axis that is Hard Rock guitar player and even seventies and also going through different cardinal points of rock in these 10 songs.“The Black Serenade” serves as a classic intro with the guitar as the main character supported by timid backing vocals. Although the actual opening of the album comes with “Gunfire” that you may have heard at the beginning of this review and that it is a real whip with reminiscences of Purple or Rainbow, fast-paced rhythm, a pleasing Gioelli and abundant guitar (but without reaching be heavy).“Bad Reputation” is a melodic hardrocker with a simple structure and riffs reminiscent of Dickinson’s “Tatooed Millonaire”, but that fails to fully emerge in the chorus to become a hit. We come to the song that gives title to the album “Sing of the Times” that starts with a chorus similar to that of the intro, and a heavy riff that gives way to the melody that becomes the protagonist of the song at half time intense and successful. “The End Of The Line” takes up faster rhythms and drags you through a melody that at first seems to say nothing but ultimately engages. “As Blind As A Fool Can Be” a book power ballad with its soft guitar on start, keyboards and distortion to boost the power in the chorus and the melody carried by one of the best for this type of songs. “Wings Of The Storm” again that air to the Deep Purple of Coverdale / Hughes in a cut that transports you to the 70s but with a twist on the guitars that never lose the Pell personality. axel rudi pell song of the times cover Gioeli is immense in “Waiting For Your Call” that starts with an 80s air riff and takes the vocalist to the limit, leaving us everything in the choruses. For my taste, the solo is one of the coolest on the album, partly due to the support provided by the already mentioned riff and the rhythmic base. Now I can swear that I thought I had skipped the advertising … “Living In A Dream” This is Reggae !, but rest assured that nothing has happened. That is just an intro to the theme that then engages with the usual AXEL style. Of course, the scare is not taken away by anyone, and it seems that neither to his other bandmates, Volker Krawzcak (b) and Ferdy Doernberg (k) who freaked out when they heard the song.“Into The Fire” ends the album with a longer theme, and quite heavy (in the good sense of the word) with an exhibition of controlled and melodic solos, something far from the typical “guiniguiniguini” theme than in other works usually cast Pell.In summary we have a very interesting album in which great musicians deliver their good work to a set of songs that are also quite good and where AXEL RUDI PELL has distanced himself from his epic and almost mystical themes to speak to us with his music of much more things nearby.

The successor to last year’s top 5 album “Sign Of The Times” is the follow-up to his 2007 cover recording “Diamonds Unlocked”.Pell’s carefully considered decision not to release brand-new original material for the first time in almost 15 years is mainly based on the ongoing pandemic and current restrictions on live concerts. The guitarist explains that “it makes no sense at all to put out new songs that we will not be able to perform live.”But let me tell you that “Diamonds Unlocked II” will not disappoint you… they recorded here a collection of classic songs by Sammy Hagar, Rainbow, Tony Carey, and even a Paul Anka (!) cover, all metallized / hard rockin’ in the ARP fashion.Johnny Gioeli can sing anything, and he shines all over ‘There’s Only One Way to Rock’, ‘Lady of the Lake’, ‘Room with a View’, etc…

Album:

Only genuine thoroughbred musicians with substantial creative talent succeed in staying at the top of their game as long as Axel Rudi Pell has. For more than thirty years, the guitarist and songwriter from Bochum (Germany) has released new albums at regular intervals with his A.R.P. band. Reactions by fans and media alike have been consistently positive and impressive record sales, high chart positions and ever increasing audience numbers at his concerts and tours say it all. His latest studio recording "Lost XXIII" - his 21st to date - will be available as a digipak, CD, double vinyl album, strictly limited box set and for digital download, as usual on Steamhammer/SPV. "Lost XXIII" is a very special album in Pell's long standing career, extremely varied, consisting of ten deeply melodic hard rock songs (plus intro) in typical A.R.P. style as well as a number of fast-paced highlights and surprising compositions. "The title track, for example, with its chorus featuring Arabic scales, is one of the longest epic tracks I've ever written", explains Pell, who promises to reveal the riddle of the mysterious album title at a later point.

Album:

Ballads play a very special role in the history of rock music. Firstly: They document the emotional side of the genre and show that behind (almost) every rocker`s hard chest beats a soft heart. Secondly: Those quieter songs are being played by radio stations without rock-affinity - and are loved by listeners for their emotional depth. And thirdly: In an increasingly hectic world, ballads offer brief moments of pause, of reflection on the essential things in life. So it`s no wonder that the ballad compilations of the Axel Rudi Pell Band are an absolute success. Over 250,000 copies have been sold of ‘The Ballads I’ (1993) to ‘The Ballads V’ (2017) alone. And nine (!) of the current Top-10 most streamed Pell songs on Spotify are ballads! More than enough reason therefore, why fans of the Bochum guitarist and songwriter regularly push for a continuation of this release series.

Bio:

Album:

No doubt about it: The world would be a much poorer place without Axel Rudi Pell. On his 22nd (!) studio album "Risen Symbol", the Bochum-based guitarist and songwriter continues to fly the melodic hard rock flag without watering down his style with pseudo-modern stylistic variations or expendable studio gimmicks. At the same time, he is constantly looking for new influences, exciting inspirations, and catchy hooks. One of the best things about ARP's anthems is that they are perfectly tailored to the charismatic voice of frontman Johnny Gioeli. The American vocalist is one of the most eminent rock singers worldwide and, together with Pell, former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, and the two longstanding ARP members Ferdy Doernberg (keyboards) and Volker Krawczak (bass), has been an integral part of a perfectly oiled machine for more than ten years, wowing fans and media alike.

Album:

"Ghost Town" is the new album by the German guitar wizard Axel Rudi Pell. It's his 23rd studio album, and packed with his characteristic guitar riffs, Hard Rock anthems, and a sensational duet starring frontman Johnny Gioeli together with German Metal legend Udo Dirkschneider. Axel Rudi Pell produced the eleven songs on ‘Ghost Town’ himself, with Tommy Geiger (Blind Guardian, Helloween), who was also in charge of the mix, providing valuable engineering support during the recording sessions at the Blind Guardian Studios in Grefrath. You don't need an encyclopaedia or a satnav to enjoy the music of Bochum-based guitarist, composer and band leader Axel Rudi Pell. Because what probably applies to almost all successful musicians also applies to Pell: his songs bear his typical, characteristic signature, a hybrid of powerful guitar riffs and catchy melodies, as well as the foundation of a brilliant band led by American singer Johnny Gioeli, former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli, bassist Volker Krawczak and keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg. And although Pell has been thrilling his fans with this significant mix for well over 35 (!) years, his albums always contain sophisticated surprises or remarkable collaborations. His current studio album, ‘Ghost Town’, is no exception: Axel Rudi Pell adds another eleven exhibits to the long list of great songs in his career.
