Rock Ignition is a hard rock band from Germany founded in 2006 by professional dancer and ex-Kamelot background vocalist Heather Shockley and Silent Force/Sons of Seasons/Headstone Epitaph bassist Jürgen Steinmetz. In 2007 they signed a deal with Rock Inc.(Netherlands)and released their debut EP, "I Can't Resist". The band is influenced by hard rock acts from the 1980s like Skid Row, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, and Vixen. The very first guitar player of Rock Ignition, Bas Maas, is now the actual guitarist of "metal queen" Doro Pesch.Rock Ignition has shared the stage with bands like Uriah Heep, Jon Oliva's Pain, Axxis, Mike Tramp, Circle II Circle, Vanden Plas, At Vance, Elvenking, Kamelot, Sons of Seasons, headlined the AguiRock Festival 2008 in Tarragona (Spain) and opened the IV German Metal Meeting in Kerkrade (Netherlands).The band released their 2nd EP "Innocent Thing" on May 17, 2013 through the record company Sound Guerilla/DA Music, produced by bassist Jürgen Steinmetz and mixed by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic).This is Rock music, true, devoted and enthusiastic.This is the journey to the primordial ignition rooted in the Hard Rock of the 80s- inspired by bands like Bon Jovi , Skid Row, Kiss, Vixen, Whitesnake, Mr.Big and Mötley Crüe.These are strong riffs, catchy melodies and enthralling refrains- with an ardent female singer wielding a voice we are hard put to compare to anyone else’s.The vision of a band with members that are brought together not only in their preference for real hand-crafted music but first and foremost, the total passion for Hard Rock in the 80s style, impelled Jürgen Steinmetz (who founded in the 80s the band Headstone Epitaph, and toured Europe, America and Japan with Silent Force) and Heather Shockley (frontwoman of 900 SEC, background singer for the US-metal band Kamelot and musical artist in shows such as „Jesus Christ Superstar“ and “We Will Rock You“ ), to find musicians with the same attitude to music. A number of musicians were involved in the forming process of the band, but only very recently have the right ones been found.As a musician of ROCK IGNITION, it’s not enough to master the instrument to perfection but it’s imperative to go beyond this and live the vision of the band with heart and passion. Thus, the quartet achieves maximum charisma of the music, above all on stage, and the whole seems to be more than the sum of its growing parts. To put it simply: „The Greatest Hard Rock of the 21st Century!“After the release of their onlinesingle „I Can’t Resist“, which also gives its name to the EP (mixed by producer Dennis Ward – Pink Cream 69), the song became an anthem for the music of ROCK IGNITION, which the band and fans just „Can’t Resist“!
