PARAGON was a Southern California-based band that recorded and performed for many years throughout the 80's and early 90's including playing many of the prestigious clubs on the sunset strip and built a significant fan base. Originally a four piece with keyboardist Ric Hancock taking the lead vocal duties , they added a Journey-esque frontman / vocalist and became a five-piece later on. There are only 4 songs here that were released on vinyl (that self titled EP from 1985 has been a collectors item for many years now). Everything else is previously unreleased in any format and is basically an anthology of everything Paragon ever recorded! The early material is killer progressive pomp rock / AOR with tons of great keyboard / guitar interplay and the later material is more straight ahead awesome melodic rock / AOR which still employs their signature guitar / keys sound, the anthem hooks and big vocal harmonies. The incredible song "Danger Calls" is worth the price of admission alone!! Paragon rocks!!

PARAGON is back after 20 years of hibernation! The 1985 EP was rediscovered in a used record store by Aaron McCaslin, co-owner of Retrospect Records in Las Vegas, NV. Ric Hancock, Brett Sandberg, Jimmy Stage (Limbean), and Beto Trevizo began the journey to locate and digitally re-master 12 more unreleased songs plus 2 songs released in 1991 on XS Records with lead singer Mark Akkett! There will also be a bonus song off Ric Hancock's solo album featuring Brett Sandberg on lead guitar released in 2001 on Night Writer Records. PARAGON has played with top known bands like NIRVANA & OASIS, THE WALL FLOWERS, VIXEN & JEFF SCOTT SOTO on stage at Hollywood's most prestigious clubs! "It's cool that people still love this music and get to hear what they missed way back when..." Nostalgia is back, vintage is the cool new rage and PARAGON is still… the Perfect way to Rock!
