Terra is a melodic rock/metal band from Salt Lake City, Utah best known for their rare mini-album Flames of Passion, which originally saw a limited cassette release before being reissued and later given official CD treatment.FLAMES OF PASSION is FINALLY being released on CD for the very first time EVER!!! Any other CD pressing of this killer release is an unauthorized and illegal bootleg. The songs have been remastered from the original master reels. The album comes complete with a 16-page booklet filled with never before released photos, the band’s detailed story and complete lyrics. The CD release has a new cover) oppose to the original cassette cover). The band features Dana Freebairn (the voice of D.F.M., TARRIFF, FREEBAIRN, MOVIESCREEN), Kevin Freebairn (drummer of MANNEQUIN, STRYDER, ESSEXX, OILY BOYS), Jamey Stiehl (guitarist of 7 EXITS), Bruce Wilson (bassist of MOVIESCREEN, REIGN DIVINE, DANGER ALLEY) and Parrish Hultquist (MOVIESCREEN, MEGATTACK, NOTORIOUS, WOLFGANG). Other members who played in the band (just not on the album) are Jimmy Keeler (SURGICAL STEEL, NOTORIOUS), Tracy Swider (A.Z.R.O., KIDD BLAST, REIGN DIVINE, D.F.M., 7 EXITS, MEGATTACK) and Mike Montoya.

Metallic Blue Records is reissuing officially for the first time on CD ”Flames of Passion”, the 1987 cassette only 6-song release by glam metal act TERRA.This Salt Lake City, Utah based band, was vocalist Dana Freebairn group before he headed out to California to join Tyton / Mesheen, and ultimately the reformed Terriff featuring newly ex-Lizzy Borden axeman Joe Holmes (pre-David Lee Roth, Ozzy).Providing additional guitar work on this Terra recording is another notable ’80s shredder, the late Parrish Hultquist (Megattack, Notorious, Moviescreen). Drummer Kevin Freebairn was previously member of Essex and Mannequin, while bassist Bruce Wilson played in Danger Alley and in another Utah band; Boudreaux.As you see, all TERRA members are experienced musicians and it shows on ”Flames of Passion”, a well composed, performed and recorded indie release. Musically these guys bring to mind Banshee, Leatherwolf or Malice; ballsy glam metal with an edge.Dana Freebairn’s voice can be comparable with Jim Gillette (Nitro), and perfectly fits the material on offer.If you are fond of the flaming US metal lost, rare albums, Terra’s “Flames Of Passion” will light up the flame from your heart.
