Following their self-titled 2018 release, their newest, Cleo, elevates their fusion of a sound and absolutely, unabashedly succeeds.Cleo weaves a tale of magic and splendor across ten vividly illuminating tracks, framed in a broad body of 80s female melodic power pop rock driven by an engine of precise, definitively Swedish metal. The resultant album is one that encourages you to reflect on your ideas of metal while almost simultaneously lifting you up and carrying you away from any of your preconceived notions. Melodies dance on dark undertones of distorted power chords reflecting off double-kick drum ponds of power and sonic assault. The aptly titled “In The Beginning” is an instrumental opener which builds over three and a half minutes to welcome you into the cinematic world of the new record and Flight of Icarus. On 13th June, Swedish band Flight of Icarus will release their third album ‘Terra Nova’ via Battlegod Productions. A press release reads: Swedish melodic pop metal duo FLIGHT OF ICARUS is set to release their 3rd studio album ‘Terra Nova’ on June 13th via Battlegod Productions.Oskar Frantzén, guitarist and songwriter: ”This album is a little bit different from our first two, in that we put a bit more emphasis on the metal side this time”, he says with a smile. ”That being said, we have not skimped out on our melodies or harmonies. If you have heard our music before, you will recognise our sound, only with a bit more umph and edge added to it.””Terra Nova” was produced, mixed and mastered at Studio Meltdown by Kenny Boufadene (MANIMAL, WE ARE THE CATALYST) and the album artwork was created by their manager Oz Hawe Petersson (guitarist of OSUKARU and OZ HAWE PETERSSON’S RENDEZVOUS).
